Minetta Tavern is a gem, which is why it is so hard to get a reservation. We actually had tickets to a play in Greenwich Village nearby and stopped in on a lark. Our luck found us two seats at the bar served by the most attentive and personable Tim. We tried both of the burgers and found them superb.... More

This was recommended by a friend at work who lives in New Jersey and has gone into the city for years. He recommended it as a great place for hamburgers, and it was excellent! It is New York so the cheeseburger and fries was $18.00, but it was a huge cheeseburger and it was delicious. My spouse had the filet... More

You have to try this place. I have walked by it many times over the last 50 years but never went inside. Was put off by the exterior which suggests a really old bar. My son asked me to meet him there last night and it was a complete surprise . . . . a very pleasant one! To view... More

Finally got here last night. We read so much about this place and sometimes, (actually a lot of the time), the hype is way better than the actual experience. Not last night. We were promptly seated in a front booth which was great. Ordered a couple of the house drinks, both of which were extremely tasty. As I've said before,... More

OK, so the black label burger is supposed to be great - and I'm sure it is. The Cotes de Boeuf is other worldly. Never had steak this good anywhere. Just get it. Perfect for two get it with the spinach start off with the salad and it's paleo heaven. By the way the service was great, a little cramped... More

Until last Monday, I thought the best burger in NY was JG Melon. It is now my second favorite. The Minetta Black Label burger is unbelievable. I have had "blends" before but nothing like this. I am 75 years old and have been around, as they say. Yes it's pricey, but at least put it on your Bucket List.

We came here to taste the famous Black Label Burger and it did not disappoint. The bone marrow that my boys had for a starter was very good too. Grand Marnier soufflé was excellent as well.

Came for the much reported best burger in the city and while the meat was clearly high quality and had flavor not normally found in burgers, I was a bit disappointed. The tavern is old fashioned in every way imaginable. From the staff who forgets about you to the caricatures of New York socialites who visit you know you are... More

The Minetta delivered a serious 1-2 dinner for all do us. First came the fantastic setting then (out of know where) came outstanding service. What a combo. As if that wasn't enough, another 1-2 in the form of great food followed by expected prices. Knocked us out! This is "Village Dinning" like it's supposed to be. It's old school and... More

If you are looking for a typical old American place, with good food and great service Minetta is this place. We had a great time there eating their fabulous hamburger and drinking mimosas. Make your advanced reservation, eat there and after this unforgettable meal, walk around the lovely neighborhood. I definitely will eat there again next time I visit NYC.
