First time at this W. village eatery, obviously very popular as it was packed on a wed. night. Had the Rabbit Terrine app which was excellent and the roasted cod special, also very good. service was efficient and friendly, offered us the soufflés for dessert early so they were ready at appropriate time. Would definitely return the next time we... More

Been with some business trip partners at Minetta Tavern last week and it was an excellent dinner. The service is very friendly and accurate. Everything we ordered - first course salads and the mains - NY strip and the famous burger were perfect. I always look for a great steak in NY but not in an old style steakhouse and... More

Stumbled in during a rainstorm and was able to eat at the bar. Had one of the best french dips ever as well as great drinks at the bar.

Probably the best burger I have ever had. Some how the outside was seared to a crisp and the inside was perfectly rare. That combined with the caramelized onions just worked really well, you didn't have to add anything to the burger. I tried both the steak and the scallops which were also very good, but the reason you come... More

There's a show on the Travel Channel called Burger Land. It's about this guy who travels all over the country, eating burgers. (Talk about dream job!) When I saw that Minetta Tavern was one of his stops, I knew I had to try the black label burger he was gushing over. My friends and I had a reservation for 11:30,... More

You definitely need reservations, otherwise you will be standing at the bar 4 deep waiting for ages for a table BUT if you get one, you are in for the best burger you've ever had. Something about the caramelized onions and the just right seasonings on a juicy patty - it was mouth wateringly good. Expensive yes, but worth it.... More

Why am I so excited about pork trotters? It is something that many people would turn away in disgust. If only they tasted it before making such a snap decision. And this would be the place to try them for the first time! They are cooked so deliciously in what looks like a egg roll. Oh!! But so much better... More

If you go to the village do not miss the chance to get a table at Minetta Tavern. But do not forget to book your table. And then come a bit earlier to enjoy the fantastic cocktails, made out of the best alcools with all the needed "savoir-faire". And then just try their amazing meat. Expensive but unique experience.

This restaurant is a throw back with red leather banquettes; parquet floors; signed photos of boxers and city dignitaries; and waiters dressed in long white butcher's aprons. The tables are placed very close together which actually adds to the ambience. (We have eaten in many great NYC restaurants located in very small rooms or basements so used to this type... More

From their website I thought we were going to get some carefully prepared French / American cuisine with a bit of an interesting twist. The reality was fairly unimaginative and sloppily prepared fare, of a standard considerably lower than your average Parisian bistro. Could it be that a Michelin Star in NY is not worth anything? Thankfully not; we eat... More
