We went to the Minetta Tavern, inexplicably, on a day other than one on which we had plans next door at the Comedy Cellar (which itself behooves any tourist to visit). The Minetta provides good food at a reasonable price in a nice-enough but unpretentious environment. I thought the restaurant manager, an older gentleman, really showed professionalism, courtesy and exuded... More

We has dinner in Minetta and had one of the best steaks ever. In addition the cocktails and desserts were great. The restaurant is usually packed and noisy a bit, but it adds to the atmosphere. The restaurant is not cheap, but food is great.

Dark, low ceilings, crowded and loud! People watching at its finest. Finally had a chance to have dinner. The server was fantastic (I think his name is Leslie), we never felt rushed or judged since we were mere mortals, saw a few . I can't figure out the dress code to this place since some people were dressed to the... More

From outside it looks closed passed by several times lived near by. The day came for dinner 30.10.2014, opened the door and wow, room full of people, young women showed you to the table. One sits very close but enough room though. Waiter very kind and efficient, awesome winelist! The fantastic burger came as ordered rare, good red Californian wine... More

Heard of this place for some time now. Gave it a try over the weekend and it was incredible from start to finish. Black label burger is the best burger I have ever eaten ! On the comedy strip so hit a show afterwards!

The Minnetta has no problems filling its tables but it's hard to understand why it's so popular. The food is bland at best and tasteless at worst. The wine is fearfully overpriced.

Before our trip to NYC I researched lots of restaurants. The Minetta was high on our must visit list so we booked in advance (essential by the way!) and went. We'd heard the burger was one of the best in New York and went perhaps with expectations that were too high. The service was good, though we were seated at... More

Hands down the best burger I've ever had. On paper it's expensive but you will forget about that once you take the first bite. We split the burger as an appetizer and split the $61 NY Strip for our main. I don't mind the price as long as the food can back it up. Sides were prety good, the steak... More

I was told this was the best burger in town and it was most definitely not. The burger was okay but the chips were terrible (cold and overdone). I wouldn't head back in a hurry.

We had thd famous dish- the black label hamburger. The meat was perfect, and it was one of the best hamburgers l have ever had in my life. The fries that came with the amazing hamburger were disappointing; you can't serve the best burger in town with "cheap" fries.
