This is a cool restaurant, full of people having fun, with good food. Decor is perfect and staff very kind. Olivia Wilde was there having dinner with two friends. If you are in the mood for this area of the city, its possibly one of the best.

I don't claim to be a world authority on burgers, but the black label burger - medium rare - was without a doubt the best one I have ever eaten. Never mind that I had munched my way through a pile of marrow bones and toast and had no right to still be hungry (it was well past midnight at... More

Minetta Tavern has been around for many years and it is a good choice, but for the price paid, we expected a bit better. The service is very good - a bit reserved for the atmosphere, but extremely professional and thoughtful. Food was excellent except for the steak - for the very high price of the NY Strip ($61), we... as a native new yorker - I remember a far flung time when you could get a quality dinner for a reasonable price - now, beyond the scope of mere inflation, some NYC restaurants have brought their costs up to some weird "ethereal" level of ridiculousness simply because they can - because there is some special "toll" for the pleasure... A true New York gem and local West Village restaurant! Loved the steak - a massive portion. The ambience is very cool and it reminded me much of Colbert in London however the food is way better and the staff is lovely.

Walked across the Brooklyn Bridge to Minetta Tavern for their famous burger, supposedly one of the best burgers in NYC. The burger was very good. The seating for two was uncomfortable. It was a good meal, a good burger, and a fun place to visit.

As a burger lover who tried every possible chain and special burger place in the US and elsewhere, I was curious regarding Minetta's famous ''black label burger''. This was the main reason I booked a lunch there. Well, I guess the comments were not enough, this burger is really one of the best one I got. Great meat, superb bread,... More

Minetta Tavern is a gem, which is why it is so hard to get a reservation. We actually had tickets to a play in Greenwich Village nearby and stopped in on a lark. Our luck found us two seats at the bar served by the most attentive and personable Tim. We tried both of the burgers and found them superb.... More

This was recommended by a friend at work who lives in New Jersey and has gone into the city for years. He recommended it as a great place for hamburgers, and it was excellent! It is New York so the cheeseburger and fries was $18.00, but it was a huge cheeseburger and it was delicious. My spouse had the filet... More

You have to try this place. I have walked by it many times over the last 50 years but never went inside. Was put off by the exterior which suggests a really old bar. My son asked me to meet him there last night and it was a complete surprise . . . . a very pleasant one! To view... More
