We visited this bar last night as I wanted a big New York burger whilst on our long weekend trip. The bar/ restaurant is in a busy area with lots of groups hung around outside. When we entered it was packed, people at the bar were 2 deep and the rest of the bar is crammed full of tables. The... More

We ate dinner here March 2015. While it seems to have a stereotypical NYC feel to it (wood paneled decor, black and white photos of restauranteur with local boxers, etc), the food and menu was acceptable without being outstanding. When comparing price and flavour/menu and fitout with places like The Dutch nearby, The Dutch is far superior.

My cousin suggested that we eat at the Minetta Tavern while I was visiting. Excellent suggestion! I am not much for crowds but the restaurant was so quaint that I had no anxiety at all. The Bartenders were knowledgeable and made amazing drinks. The wait staff were very attentive and personable. The food...mm..mm..mm. Steak seasoned perfectly and so tender. My... More

This is my 2nd time here and the food quality remains top notch. Salads are great as starters and for mains we had the burger and the strip which are both greal accompanied by 1st grade fries. Very much recommended for a crowd that can accept the level of noise there...

Our first time brunching at Minetta Tavern (as opposed to dining there) yielded mixed results. Despite our reservation, after checking in we were held in a mega-clog at the desk while the host checked in a dozen others, several without reservations. We were seated right by the kitchen and treated to the cooks' ongoing spirited yelling at each other. MT's... More

Fail to understand how anyone would want to come here for a romantic dinner. The food might be ok if you could hear yourself talk and the tables were not so close together. As it was, the experience was more that of an expensive 'Diner'. Would not come here again.

Everyone knows about the burger, I equally crave the cote de boeuf. The soufflé for dessert doesn't disappoint either. You feel the history the minute you walk in, nothing fancy or pretentious. Sometimes you want a carnivorous treat without all the haiku of fine dining, that is precisely what you get here. And maybe you will sit next to Obama,... More

I went to Minetta while visiting NYC. It was my birthday so I decided to treat my self with the Black Label Burger. Nice place with smooth atmosphere in Greenwich Village. The burger was AWESOME. Can't wait to have it again!

I was recommended Minetta Tavern for its Black Label Burger as one of the best in NYC. What I found was a lovely environment with the flavor of an old european bistro. I sat on the bar as I had no reservation and they were, as always people say, fully booked. The cocktails were very well prepared. The food came... More

Staying in Greenwich Village

Neighborhood Profile
Greenwich Village
Commonly known as “the Village” to New Yorkers, it was here in Greenwich Village that both 1960’s counter culture and the LGBT movement were born. Famous for its bohemian past, head to Washington Square Park to get a feel for this diverse and energetic neighborhood. You’ll find NYU students, street performers, skateboarders, kids frolicking in the fountain, and locals relaxing and playing chess. Stroll the streets to discover a mix of majestic town homes and hidden bars and restaurants that give this neighborhood an old-school residential feel. When the sun goes down, check out one of the famous jazz or comedy clubs that still packs them in every night.
