Lobsters are great

I was lucky to go years ago after the Columbus Club meeting with some of its members. Angelo was there and I met him for the 1st time. What a wonderful man. The food was great. Very easy to find. I had a 5 lb. lobster and a bottle of Barolo. The crowd is upscale along with the food. I've... read more

We went with out of town guests, they were told to check it out. The restaurant is visible from the West Side Highway and is on a street that is cobblestones. It's very old and unique. We scored a table right by the window and enjoyed an unparalleled view of New Jersey across the Hudson. The neighborhood was empty midweek.... More

Although the lobster (nicely cut up) was delicious, my friend and I were surprised to learn that the dish did not include anything else. For the price (over $30 each for a 2 1/2 lb. lobster) we expected to get mashed potatoes, vegetables or the like. The service was good and the atmosphere was romantic. The location, of course, was... This restaurant has been around for years. Italian food that never disappoints with a wait staff that is knowledgeable and professional. A little expensive but don't let that stop you. I'd rather spend a few dollars more for food that I enjoy than pay less and have my evening ruined. The Seafood is fresh, Lobster is a specialty, eat here... More

Delicious Italian food in a very romantic setting...a bit overpriced.

Can't believe Ponte's is still around & doing well after all these years. One of our old faves--very good veal dishes & I used to love when they prepared Steak Diane tableside (don't know if they still serve it). Service is outstanding & this dining room is a classic in the best sense of the word. A NY must do!

Staying in TriBeCa

Neighborhood Profile
TriBeCa
What’s in a name? In this case it is the unique title of “Triangle Below Canal Street” that became a popular nickname in the 1970s. An attractive neighborhood filled with handsome lofts on the edge of the Financial District, this lovely slice of Manhattan offers plenty of fine dining experiences and art galleries. Plus, it’s home to the city’s most exciting film event, the Tribeca Film Festival, that takes place here every year. TriBeCa is a great place to take a leisurely stroll before stopping into one of the many local restaurants or bars for a satisfying meal and cocktail. You’ll see families out for an afternoon walk, and don’t be surprised to come up with the occasional celebrity sighting. With such a great vibe, many of the city’s most famous residents call this neighborhood home.
