We Were Delighted With Our Unplanned Dinner

On a busy Friday nite, on the spur of the moment, we went across the street from our hotel (the Hilton Garden Inn Tribecca)and stared into Pepolino. The maitre'd came out and invited us in. Normally, such an "invitation" sets off alarm bells because we expect good restaurants in Manhattan to be... read more

We both enjoyed our meal here and had no complaints about the food. The restaurant was a little cold though so I had to keep my jacket on. In terms of the food I had spinach soufflé which was really good, the base was a little over cooked but otherwise very tasty. I then had the chicken in a red... More

We walked in here randomly after looking at the menu outside and was treated to a memorable meal. As huge fan of Italian food I was very excited looking through the menu especially when I discovered all their pasta was freshly made on premise. I had a tuna carpaccio on special to start, followed by an Italian sausage and ricotta... More

This is a small, but friendly Italian restaurant, with good food and service. Space is limited, and tables are close together, but this does not detract from the dining experience, and actually contributes to an intimate and cosy atmosphere. Our only criticism was that having stated they catered for a gluten-free diet, there was subsequently some confusion over what dishes... More

The staff was amazing, accommodating, friendly, and overall attentive. They made great suggestions about the menu, and went out of their way to be sure we were happy. I have already recommended this restaurant to many friends.

Scheduled well ahead of time, I hosted a group from China for a traditional Italian dinner. We were seated at a long very thin table (not conducive to discussion), squished in the very back of the restaurant. Food was only ok, table cramped, service slow and only so-so, little accommodation to special requests (even with open-ended $!). I was disappointed... More

Staying in TriBeCa

Neighborhood Profile
What’s in a name? In this case it is the unique title of “Triangle Below Canal Street” that became a popular nickname in the 1970s. An attractive neighborhood filled with handsome lofts on the edge of the Financial District, this lovely slice of Manhattan offers plenty of fine dining experiences and art galleries. Plus, it’s home to the city’s most exciting film event, the Tribeca Film Festival, that takes place here every year. TriBeCa is a great place to take a leisurely stroll before stopping into one of the many local restaurants or bars for a satisfying meal and cocktail. You’ll see families out for an afternoon walk, and don’t be surprised to come up with the occasional celebrity sighting. With such a great vibe, many of the city’s most famous residents call this neighborhood home.
