truly like eating in Italy

Of all the NYC restaurants at which I've eaten (easily dozens), Pepolino offers an experience most like contemporary Italian restaurants in Italy. The salads are dressed with a light touch. Of all the NYC restaurants at which I've eaten (easily dozens), Pepolino offers an experience most like contemporary Italian restaurants in Italy. The salads are dressed with a light touch. The pastas are homemade. The fettucine with cinghiale is straight from Tuscany. Desserts are delicious and not too huge. Owners and servers are Italian! This should not be a surprise... More

I met a colleague here for a business dinner on his suggestion. The staff was very helpful and offered to take my travel bags without me asking. I ordered a salad and a pasta special for an entree. Both were excellent. I travel every week and eat out all the time, often in Italian restaurants. This one is worth coming... More

I have to start with the calamari. It was so perfectly seasoned-- fried to perfection that our table devoured every bite. I ordered the fish-- which typically I only order when I'm trying to be "good" on a diet. Yet when my dinner arrived, I was blown away at the meal. It had to have been the best fish I've... More

We had a lovely Italian dinner with our family at this quaint little place. The Ravioli was excellent and service was good.

Visited pepolinos thrice in July.. And the food was some of the best Italian I'd ever tasted.. They have a dish called farroto which is similar to risotto but much tastier in my opinion.. The balance of flavor is perfect in their dishes. My husband had the steak .. Which he said was the best steak he ever tried and... More

The food here was fantastic, but the service spoilt our evening. The wait staff are so busy directing the bus boys that they forget about their customers. The table next to us asked for Parmesan cheese three times. They never got it they just gave up. When our food arrived the runner almost threw it at us no words nothing.... More

After a long, exhausting day of site seeing around the city, we were glad to find a decent restaurant around the corner from the hotel. And it was great. No reservation, which was not a problem, and we were not greeted by a sneer because of it, as with many restaurants in NYC. Friendly, knowledgeable waiter who did not rush... More

Following a long and tedious train journey from Montreal we were faced with the prospect of the noisy bar at our nearby hotel or elsewhere. Our concierge appreciating our plight directed us to Pepolino. Thank goodness he did. No booking, 9 pm on a Sunday night, no problem. We were made very welcome and threaded with patience while we familiarised... More

Staying in TriBeCa

Neighborhood Profile
TriBeCa
What’s in a name? In this case it is the unique title of “Triangle Below Canal Street” that became a popular nickname in the 1970s. An attractive neighborhood filled with handsome lofts on the edge of the Financial District, this lovely slice of Manhattan offers plenty of fine dining experiences and art galleries. Plus, it’s home to the city’s most exciting film event, the Tribeca Film Festival, that takes place here every year. TriBeCa is a great place to take a leisurely stroll before stopping into one of the many local restaurants or bars for a satisfying meal and cocktail. You’ll see families out for an afternoon walk, and don’t be surprised to come up with the occasional celebrity sighting. With such a great vibe, many of the city’s most famous residents call this neighborhood home.
