Bright, ethereal flavors, inventive presentation, perfectly attentive yet low key service. The desert was a sort of fireworks display of chocolate. Utterly satisfying. Looking... More

This is an average place overall- average food, average service, average decoration, average bar. In a city like NY you might just skip it.

Annisa has been great every time I've gone. The food and service are impeccable. Chef Anita Lo has a rotation of familiar and new dishes that is highly appealing.

We had a very nice meal here. We began with one of the house specialties: improbable foie gras soup dumpling that was stuffed foie gras mouse and jicama and topped with a slice of seared foie gras. While the soup may have slightly masked the taste of the mousse, we enjoyed the combination and the texture added by the jicama.... More

This highly rated restaurant should be at the top of your list if you like your food prepared with imagination, subtlety and attention to flavor served in a comfortable, sophisticated setting. The chef makes every dish special. This may be as close as New York gets to a perfect, small restaurant. The dining area is extremely attractive, the service is... More

I just ate at Annisa after a long absence and I wasn't disappointed. My expectations were validated! I ordered the Barbecued Squid and Sable for my entree. The squid was tender an presented so appetizingly that it added to the pleasure. The sable which is an exceptional fish to begin with was cooked to perfection.

This is one of our go to favorited when we are looking for high quality cuisine in a polished but unprentious environment. The food is excellent, cocktails inventive, wine list very good and service is in tune with the whole experience. We have eaten in most of the top rated restaurants in Manhattan and we feel this is as good... More

Intimate dining setting with only 12 tables. Wonderful food and beautiful presentation. We did the chef's choice with 4 courses for $88 a person. The waiter was so helpful and took note of any foods we did not like. Loved trying the different types of dishes with ingredients I had not had before.

We had the tasting menu (5 items as determined by the chef). The food was good, but not outstanding. For example, one of the 5 items was a single, relatively large Chinese dumpling. It would have been way more elegant half its size; and, maybe offer 2-3. One dumpling was skimpy. The wait staff was terrific, and made up for... More

Staying in West Village

Neighborhood Profile
West Village
Stretching from Sixth Avenue to the Hudson River, the West Village is one of the city’s most coveted addresses. Full of trendy shops, historic taverns, and cozy restaurants set amid 19th century architecture, this neighborhood has a unique old-world feel. You won’t find a more picturesque location in Manhattan. Without the traditional city grid layout, it’s easy to get lost here, but that’s part of the fun as you stroll down elegant narrow streets with beautiful brownstones. When you need a break, you can always stop in at one of the many quaint eateries or cafes to soak in the atmosphere, or head to the western edge of the neighborhood to enjoy magnificent waterfront views while taking a leisurely walk in Hudson River Park.
