Amazing fusion of food flavors!

My wife and I ate at Annisa last weekend having heard so much positive feedback on the food. The restaurant has a very elegant, simple interior, with a suitable noise level for intimate conversations. The food was in fact amazing. I had the seared Foie Gras Soup Dumplings for appetizer which... read more

The food is ok. Al the fish entress were farmed fish. The rolls were not warmed,. The menu is limited and the wine list is quite short. The desserts were odd so the four of us didn't order anything. The expresso - always a telling sign of a restaurant - was terrible. The dining area is very nice, small and... More

Wish I could give 5 stars, but some unevenness in food prep. Absolutely terrific sea bass entree. Steak tartare only good, but creatively presented. Bread (unlike many fine eateries) quite good. Wines we had were very fine. Amuse bouche also excellent, light and melt in the mouth. Tres amusee!

Its unusual to find a fine dining restaurant that maintains a high level of excellence over many years but doesn't completely break the bank. Yes, this restaurant is expensive (esp. when you drink as much as the 4 of us did) but not in comparison to other NYC restaurants of the same caliber. We all had the 5 course tasting... More

Anytime you eat at a restaurant where the Chef/Owner has a high profile, it's important to keep your expectations in check. So, we arrived hoping for a good meal and pleasant experience and (happily) were blown out of the water by a flawless performance by kitchen and front of house staff. Cocktails included a perfectly spiced Bloody Mary (made without... More

This was an excellent meal in a nice quiet environment which can be difficult to find these days. The pork loin was a wonderful char with a great sauce and was the lamb selections and fish. Most of the dishes have an Asian influence and some a bit of spice. The service was excellent. The beignet desserts were to die... More

Very intimate place (about 12-14 tables only) and not much of a waiting area but they make you feel special, don't rush you but are relatively quick and quite attentive. Food is inspired, with wonderful presence and combinations -- and while not huge portions you find yourself quite full and fulfilled. A couple of very nice touches are some extras... More

Dishes were interestingly prepared and served. Complex dishes probably required more explanantion on the menu, so be sure and ask your waitperson to describe your choice. The lamb dish was wonderful, although a bit chewy- a different cut might be better. On the other hand, the meal included sweet breads and a mini lamb casserole that were excellent. The atmosphere... wasnt sure what to expect when reserving but based on solid great reviews visited with colleagues. fantastic service, lovely quiet ambience, not too fussy or prim. Was feeling unwell from earlier so chef was able to customize menu even more for me. Had amazing phenomenal desserts and portion sizes were normal (not typical supersized portions like in many restaurants) therefore... More

Great tasting menu. Good and inventive food. Combo's that I've never tried nor would I think of. Love that the entire place is not too big. Nice ambience, quiet and can hear your companion or group talk. Almost don't want to tell anyone but this is too good to keep to myself. Reservations recommended.

Staying in West Village

Neighborhood Profile
West Village
Stretching from Sixth Avenue to the Hudson River, the West Village is one of the city’s most coveted addresses. Full of trendy shops, historic taverns, and cozy restaurants set amid 19th century architecture, this neighborhood has a unique old-world feel. You won’t find a more picturesque location in Manhattan. Without the traditional city grid layout, it’s easy to get lost here, but that’s part of the fun as you stroll down elegant narrow streets with beautiful brownstones. When you need a break, you can always stop in at one of the many quaint eateries or cafes to soak in the atmosphere, or head to the western edge of the neighborhood to enjoy magnificent waterfront views while taking a leisurely walk in Hudson River Park.
