Superlative!

We read all the review and at Annisa they took all in account and made all the changes suggested by people who wrote on Tripadvisor. Tucked away in the Christopher Square are, this lovely restaurant is a gem. Offering a wonderful cocktail selection to begin the festivities, this culinary palace is a shrine to foodies of any persuasion. Had we eaten lunch earlier (and next time we will), I would have gotten the 7 course tasting rather than the 5 in order to give ourselves... More

I've been here many times to enjoy the excellent food and great service. Annisa is a wonderful place for an intimate dinner, with a nice choice of fish, wines, and sake. Don't miss the chocolate malt dessert if it's on the menu!

We went to the restaurant Annisa, of the celebrity chef Anita Lo, for a tasting menu (we opted for the five course menu). The dinner started with a Black sea bass sashimi with trout roe, yuzu pearls and shiso, followed by a magnificent Seared foie gras with soup dumplings and jicama; the spectacular Miso marinated sable with crispy silken tofu... I went here with a couple of girlfriends for dinner. The food was excellent, service was incredible and the atmosphere was perfect. I'm always looking for great places and NYC as a local and definitely consider this to be a great choice for a quiet meal with a loved one or small group. You have the choice of the tasting... More

Wow. ....what an experience! We had the Chef's tasting. Amazing! Staff was great. ..knowledgeable, friendly, and engaging. The food was off the chart. Will definitely be back.

We went to Annisa on a recent trip to NY and enjoyed it very much. The room is intimate and soothing although a little louder than we expected given the good table spacing and fabrics everywhere but this was not a big problem. We had the 5 course tasting menu and felt it was one of the better meals we've... More

I went to Annisa with my sister to celebrate my birthday. The restaurant is small but with an elegant unfussy dining room, simply set with white linens and little oil candles. Restaurant was full and felt lively but not so loud that conversation was difficult. We had a lovely ginger, pear & Prosecco cocktail. Dinner started with a delicious chicken... More

We had a great experience here, from start to finish. We arrived at the restaurant a little early for our reservation, so we had a cocktail at the bar. The bartender was friendly and the signature drinks were great. We moved to our table right on time, and decided to choose the 7-course tasting menu. After asking the server for... More

Weird food, tiny portions, snooty service & haughty host. A study in Manhattan pretentious dining. The ambiance was nice tho. And the pineapple Popsicles they give you with the overpriced bill.

Staying in West Village

Neighborhood Profile
West Village
Stretching from Sixth Avenue to the Hudson River, the West Village is one of the city’s most coveted addresses. Full of trendy shops, historic taverns, and cozy restaurants set amid 19th century architecture, this neighborhood has a unique old-world feel. You won’t find a more picturesque location in Manhattan. Without the traditional city grid layout, it’s easy to get lost here, but that’s part of the fun as you stroll down elegant narrow streets with beautiful brownstones. When you need a break, you can always stop in at one of the many quaint eateries or cafes to soak in the atmosphere, or head to the western edge of the neighborhood to enjoy magnificent waterfront views while taking a leisurely walk in Hudson River Park.
