We had a great experience here, from start to finish. We arrived at the restaurant a little early for our reservation, so we had a cocktail at the bar. The bartender was friendly and the signature drinks were great. We moved to our table right on time, and decided to choose the 7-course tasting menu. After asking the server for... More

Weird food, tiny portions, snooty service & haughty host. A study in Manhattan pretentious dining. The ambiance was nice tho. And the pineapple Popsicles they give you with the overpriced bill.

My wife and I dined here a few weeks ago for our birthdays (one day apart), it was recommended by a friend of ours. We wanted to go somewhere "not precious" and this was just perfect (except for the table of perfume-drenched "Sex and the City" ladies that came in about halfway through our meal). The room is lovely, the... More

My mother and I travel to New York approximately once a year and we try to never repeat a restaurant in a quest to try as many new things as possible. However, it's going to be difficult to turn down a return to Annisa. Flavors were rich, unique, and exciting. Service was the perfect mix of friendly but not overbearing.... More

My wife and I ate at Annisa last weekend having heard so much positive feedback on the food. The restaurant has a very elegant, simple interior, with a suitable noise level for intimate conversations. The food was in fact amazing. I had the seared Foie Gras Soup Dumplings for appetizer which were an explosion of flavors. My wife had the... More

The food is ok. Al the fish entress were farmed fish. The rolls were not warmed,. The menu is limited and the wine list is quite short. The desserts were odd so the four of us didn't order anything. The expresso - always a telling sign of a restaurant - was terrible. The dining area is very nice, small and... More

Wish I could give 5 stars, but some unevenness in food prep. Absolutely terrific sea bass entree. Steak tartare only good, but creatively presented. Bread (unlike many fine eateries) quite good. Wines we had were very fine. Amuse bouche also excellent, light and melt in the mouth. Tres amusee!

Its unusual to find a fine dining restaurant that maintains a high level of excellence over many years but doesn't completely break the bank. Yes, this restaurant is expensive (esp. when you drink as much as the 4 of us did) but not in comparison to other NYC restaurants of the same caliber. We all had the 5 course tasting... More

Anytime you eat at a restaurant where the Chef/Owner has a high profile, it's important to keep your expectations in check. So, we arrived hoping for a good meal and pleasant experience and (happily) were blown out of the water by a flawless performance by kitchen and front of house staff. Cocktails included a perfectly spiced Bloody Mary (made without... More

Staying in West Village

Neighborhood Profile
West Village
Stretching from Sixth Avenue to the Hudson River, the West Village is one of the city’s most coveted addresses. Full of trendy shops, historic taverns, and cozy restaurants set amid 19th century architecture, this neighborhood has a unique old-world feel. You won’t find a more picturesque location in Manhattan. Without the traditional city grid layout, it’s easy to get lost here, but that’s part of the fun as you stroll down elegant narrow streets with beautiful brownstones. When you need a break, you can always stop in at one of the many quaint eateries or cafes to soak in the atmosphere, or head to the western edge of the neighborhood to enjoy magnificent waterfront views while taking a leisurely walk in Hudson River Park.
