I chose Annisa for a special night out to celebrate a birthday because I remembered it as offering both great food and, unique in New York city, a relaxed and quiet dining room. We were not disappointed on any level. The food was stellar, from a wonderfully complex chicken liver mousse amuse bouche (Say that three times fast!), through appetizers... More

There was nothing wrong with Annisa, but there was nothing outstanding. The service was excellent but food was not what I expected. For a tasting menu, there are countless other places in the city that your $300 would be better spent. Dessert was the best thing we had (& I normally rather skip dessert for amazing food)

The menu here was first warning. Sparse and heartless. Food which came while well prepared and played lacked depth and flavor. Wine list was just plain bad. Pricey and poor selections. Staff professional but detached. No one cared to ask how everything was. Sterile. I'm also concerned that their B sanitation rating for nearly 2 months isn't been corrected. I... More

I must have gone to a different restaurant than the one that's received such glowing reviews. Ambience was great. Food (striped bass and chicken) was good but not exceptional. Desserts were the best part of the meal. Wines were simply disappointing. We asked sommelier for guidance but didn't get much insight from adjectives like "bright", "elegant" and "rustic" to describe... More

Best meal I have had in along time. We ate here for a birthday dinner, and it did not disappoint. Food was creative and fresh, the service was outstanding, and the sommelier knew exactly what to do with the special bottles of wine we had brought. The spin on the soup dumpling was the outstanding course of the meal for... More

Anita Lo, the founder and owner of Annisa, is a culinary genius. This is our favorite fine dining spot in NYC. The cod is delicious prepared in a very special broth. The service excellent. And the highlight of the meal is the bread and butter pudding for dessert. The restaurant also has a very knowledgable sommelier. The decor is very... More

We enjoyed ourselves. The room is pleasant and not overly noisy, and the staff are quite attentive, pleasant, and helpful. The cost is typical of an upper-end New York restaurant. I personally did not judge my food to be as excellent as it had been in this restaurant several years ago, but my friends liked their meals better than I... More

We enjoyed our evening in Annisa very much. The design is simple, yet warm, modern but not minimalist, the tables are not far apart but still offer some privacy. The food was absolutely delicious, we loved our starters and main courses ( black cod and striped bass) but unfortunately did not try the desserts! Service was very good and attentive,... More

We were surprised when we arrived at the restaurant to see that the city has awarded it a B rating for its cleanliness and other health practices by the city of New York. We hesitated at the door Should we go in and honor our reservation made on Open table or to just cancel it. It was late so we... More

Brilliant, Brilliant food. My better half and I kept trying to get in here on our trips to NYC and we finally made it in March. The food was quite stunning--if you don't have the foie gras soup dumpling, you might as well just turn around and walk back out the door. This is truly a hidden gem in the... More
