Amazing experience

We went here 2 weekends ago for Mother's day. I booked it the same day in the morning as I knew we were planning to be in the city. What i liked was there was just their regular meal not the usual limited Mother's day menus at most places. We had the 4-course tasting menu which was the way to... read more

Mas Farmhouse is a hidden gem in the village. My fiance and I decided on Mas to celebrate his birthday, and it was a great choice. The staff, front and back, was very attentive from the moment we stepped into the restaurant to the moment that he got his desert with happy birthday written on it. Our server, Janan, guided... Dined at Mas for my partner's birthday on the advice of friends. Excellent choice. Quaint West Village spot with good atmosphere. Seating is a bit tight but typical for the neighborhood. The staff is warm & friendly, and the service is impeccable. They were attentive without imposing. Offered thorough descriptions and advice. A party of 4 international visitors was seated... More

Excellent food presentation, we chose the four course tasting menu. The arctic char appetizer was superb as was the duck rillettes. The fried octopus was delicious, and the halibut was also nicely prepared. For desert, we had the caramel topped panna catta. The service was excellent with appropriate timing of the arrival of the courses. This restaurant is on my... More

This is a small rustic-looking restaurant with a limited menu. There were several "tasting" options, but lots of flexibility in designing your own meal. Wines were quite good, and not overpriced. Service is casual but professional. Our only problem was that the food was not uniformly excellent, as you would expect from this kind of restaurant. Several courses were great... More

Great food, location and ambience. Prices were a bit steep, but not out of range for the Village. Would go again.

I used to live in Greenwich Village years ago and knew all of the old time restaurants, but 50 years later things have changed. The cheap Bohemian spots have moved to Brooklyn, but some new places are big league. Mas, on a quiet Downing Street, is a charming and inventive restaurant. The food is elegant and the wine list shows... More

My wife and I had Valentine's Dinner there celebrating our 25th anniversary. We were staying in the area and the reviews looked amazing, so I booked this well in advance for a late night dinner. There is a lot to like, but clearly some misses here. Here is my objective review: Likes: 1. Great wait staff. Very helpful. 2. Brought... More

My husband and I splurged on the 6 course tasting menu to celebrate my birthday We enjoyed the "compliments of the chef" bites as well as the fish dishes were fabulous! The meat dishes were ok. I would go back an order a fish entrée especially the Sea Bass. Décor was nice and not over done. Service was excellent. It... More

Staying in West Village

Neighborhood Profile
West Village
Stretching from Sixth Avenue to the Hudson River, the West Village is one of the city’s most coveted addresses. Full of trendy shops, historic taverns, and cozy restaurants set amid 19th century architecture, this neighborhood has a unique old-world feel. You won’t find a more picturesque location in Manhattan. Without the traditional city grid layout, it’s easy to get lost here, but that’s part of the fun as you stroll down elegant narrow streets with beautiful brownstones. When you need a break, you can always stop in at one of the many quaint eateries or cafes to soak in the atmosphere, or head to the western edge of the neighborhood to enjoy magnificent waterfront views while taking a leisurely walk in Hudson River Park.
