Delicious!

Dined with 2 couples who had the 4-course tasting menu. The food was flavorful, well conceived, and beautifully presented. I had Fluke crudo (light and fresh), black bass with leeks (perfectly prepared), short rib (delicious, but it's hard to make a bad short rib), and olive oil cake with fresh... read more

Lovely ambience. Charming hostess. Wine portions were skimpy for tasting portions at $85 per person. Most wine was on the white side. Could have enjoyed 3 bottles at that price and rocked it. Chose the 6 course tasting menu. Thank God for the bread. $900 later (including tip) would have been starved without it. Highlights included the musette and the... More

Succeeds in farm-to-table; past the big wooden entryway is a wonderful bar with perfectly crafted cocktails; fish dishes and duck breast delight. Nice space for a relaxed meal and visiting with friends and family.

My wife and I celebrated our anniversary at Mas. This was our first visit and we had a great evening. The restaurant is small, but the seating is not hip-to-hip. The staff is uniformly friendly and professional and make you feel like a guest in their home. While Mas has a very nice and complete wine list, we elected to... More

We came to Mas on Christmas Eve. We truly enjoyed the ambience and the staff who were knowledgeable and service was timely and not rushed. We found the food outstanding overall. The selection of bourbon and beer is excellent. There was a bit of variation in how much we liked the dishes (we share), but the scallops appetizer was awesome,... More

I was very excited to try this place based on the menu. When we arrived, I thought four courses might be a bit much so I just had the beet salad (delicious) and the gnocchi (very good). My husband had the scallops, which he loved and I had a beautiful chocolate dessert that looked like a work of art. It... More

The place came highly recommended. Food was good and so was the atmosphere. Sums up my review. We all agreed it was good with some inventive twists but for over $300 for a couple definitely not worth the trip. NYC has so many excellent restaurants you can goto for half the price. Sorry Mas devotees it was once and done... More

We have been here about 6x in the last 2 years . The food is prepared with great precision using only the finest ingredients . The room is warm and inviting and perfect for conversation . Perhaps the most unique feature is the chef and staff who accomadate all dining requests in the most gracious manner.

Service was very good, ambiance was good, food was mediocre. I was expecting more interesting and more flavorful main courses. Appetizer were good but everything else was fair.

This was one of the most disappointing dinning experiences I have had in New York at a 'name', expensive restaurant. The food was good, but not exceptional.....given it was early winter/late fall, maybe the farm was not producing anything of interest beyond root vegetables and chunks of meat, and the chef simply gave up on doing anything beyond basic, down-home... Staying in West Village

Neighborhood Profile
West Village
Stretching from Sixth Avenue to the Hudson River, the West Village is one of the city’s most coveted addresses. Full of trendy shops, historic taverns, and cozy restaurants set amid 19th century architecture, this neighborhood has a unique old-world feel. You won’t find a more picturesque location in Manhattan. Without the traditional city grid layout, it’s easy to get lost here, but that’s part of the fun as you stroll down elegant narrow streets with beautiful brownstones. When you need a break, you can always stop in at one of the many quaint eateries or cafes to soak in the atmosphere, or head to the western edge of the neighborhood to enjoy magnificent waterfront views while taking a leisurely walk in Hudson River Park.
