Delightfully cozy corner bistro with well-prepared dishes and informal atmosphere. BYOB policy makes it a real find! Chilled corn soup was sweet and creamy, potato gnocchi a generous serving of soft pillows with just enough cheese. The wild mushroom strudel earthy and rich. My salmon with spring veggies was perfectly seared and still medium rare inside. Ahh- then there's dessert... More

The minute we arrived we knew that we'd been there several years before and why we had enjoyed it. Even though it was Fathers Day, we got a table outside and had a great brunch. If you can, sit outside on a nice day. There seem to be lots of brunch spots in the vicinity so it's a good place... More

We had an outside table in this neighbourhood bustling bistro. Do not expect linens and fine dining but great food in a congenial atmosphere. The food was great--see the photo of my wife's tuna dish. Many passersby and an errant solo cellist, barely audible over the traffic--yes quite noisy, but it is Manhattan.

I enjoyed dinner at Tartine with my daughter. FOOD: The Kale Salad made for an excellent appetizer (enough for two to share), and our entrees were very good. This is a restaurant to visit for well-made and tasty, but generally simple dishes, which is exactly the kind of establishment I most enjoy. It has the feel and types of food... More

I have eaten here many times, and never written a review! The Eggs Benedict are the best! But, having said that, everything I have ordered has been consistently good. The café is small, you might have to wait for a table, but the turn around is quick. Weekends are busy at brunchtime, but during the week you can get a... More

A really nice intimate café type restaurant, good service and the food was lovely. Our first night in New York and we really enjoyed it.

I really do love this place. We meet here at least once a year for our wine club's "make-it-hurt night". Thus, we're all bringing a good or memorable bottle of wine to share. The restaurant elt's us take our time, catch up with old friends and just enjoy ourselves. The food is excellent and the service is great. I can't... More

My experience pretty much reflects the other reviews. Friends who live nearby brought us here. Small, intimate, cozy, dark, very friendly, and ample portions. We had four different dishes, and there were thumbs up on all. Food choices on the heavy side, but two vegetarians were not disappointed. Heads up: cash only.

Great food, amazing service, reasonable prices, and you can bring your own bottle of wine. What more can you ask for? Oh, you should try their spicy chicken. Delicious!

Until we stumbled on Tartine we feared the West Village had been conquered by precious touristy cafes with long lines and higher prices. We lucked out here. A cozy table for 2 was waiting for us in the corner. Within a couple minutes we had a perfectly drawn cappuccino and latte sitting in front of us. Brunch was superb: Eggs... More
