Cozy, Delicious and Great All Around Sunday Brunch

Very small place with every inch used up to sit guests. No reservations, but our group of 6 got there before 11am on a Sunday and got a table within 20 minutes. They even served us coffee while waiting outside in the sun as it was a beautiful day. Be warned though that when we left before noon the... read more

The fact that this place is 'in' amazes me. It's kitch, rude, and the food is stodgy and terrible. Fixed prices for meals include bad filter coffee and concentrate orange juice. Staff are rude, and slow. The whole place is just really average. It deserves 2 stars but Ive given it 1 to compensate for the hype.

Cash only and bring your own wine (no corking fee). This wonderful little place was recommended by a local and what a little gem! There's only seating for about 30ish so get there early and you may have to wait. It's not fancy inside and has not been updates in a number of years but this adds to the atmosphere.... More

Every time I visit my sister in NYC, we must go here. The place is tiny, and you may end up waiting if you don't arrive early enough, but it's totally worth it. The corned beef hash is amazing. The croques are awesomely worth the 2000 calories (you'll walk it off). Even the sort of hung over wait staff helps... More

The famous Tartine in West Village. We were staying around the corner and discovered this busy little gem. It's super small & Cosy inside which really ads to the atmosphere - a great breakfast!! Highly recommend you visit tartine, it's super cute.

It is not a first time when I learn that some of the most excellent ethnic meals that I am eating has been prepared by extremely talented Mexican chefs ! Bravo to every almond croissant, slice of daquise cake and apple tart tatin. A special Kudos goes to apple filled pancake, a huge plate was shared by 8 moaning connoisseurs... More

We came here looking for a steak au poivre. The restaurant was TINY but charming and in a nice area. I had a latte (abysmal) and a small serve of cheddar and Brussels sprout gnocchi. The gnocchi was quite nice and I found the small serve big enough for me. The salads looked huge. The steak was quite disappointing. The... More

The first time I went was fantastic; no line great food, nice atmosphere. I loved it so much, I introduced my boyfriend to Tartine as a romantic surprise. There was a line when we arrived, worth it I thought. We were told 25-30 mins. In the snow. Anyway, we really didn't mind waiting. Except they let everyone in ahead of... More

I love going into the city on New Years Day and trying a new brunch place. I happen to pick Tartine based on Yelp reviews (thank you fellow Yelpers). The place is very small but makes up for this with delicious food at reasonable prices. We didn't wait but be prepared to wait- well worth it. Homemade corned beef hash... More

Staying in West Village

Neighborhood Profile
West Village
Stretching from Sixth Avenue to the Hudson River, the West Village is one of the city’s most coveted addresses. Full of trendy shops, historic taverns, and cozy restaurants set amid 19th century architecture, this neighborhood has a unique old-world feel. You won’t find a more picturesque location in Manhattan. Without the traditional city grid layout, it’s easy to get lost here, but that’s part of the fun as you stroll down elegant narrow streets with beautiful brownstones. When you need a break, you can always stop in at one of the many quaint eateries or cafes to soak in the atmosphere, or head to the western edge of the neighborhood to enjoy magnificent waterfront views while taking a leisurely walk in Hudson River Park.
