If you are looking for spectacular plates, you might be dissapointed at Babbo. But if you are looking for simple, tasty, absolutely perfect dishes, this is the place. We had the 8 course tasting dinner, and everything, from the taste to the cooking to the textures were flawless. Yes,staff members are numerous, and there's a lot of traffic between the... more

I had the 8-course tasting menu, and I was not disappointed with the food whatsoever. The chef is a true master of his trade, my compliments. A small criticism, however. The dining room is quite tight and the service staff is many, so their "traffic jams" distract from the meal. Better coordination, or a different system of service staff should... more

We had dinner there for a girls weekend. Got an upstairs table and had an amazing meal. It was our one big meal for the weekend and everyone had a great time. Mint love letters, goose liver ravioli, lamb chops, and the duck were all worth it! I'd highly encourage anyone to go try it! more

First time to Babbo - everything was perfect! Fresh ramps, a wet polenta with spring vegetables. The whole branzino was brilliant. Excellent wine list. Can't wait to go back. more

I first visited Babbo in 2001 and have been going back every since. I have not had a meal that disappoints yet. I love pasta and while I've had a couple favorites I'm always amazed at the consistency of the dishes over the years (wild boar pappardelle, gargenelli and most recently black spaghetti). If bufala mozzarella is offered as an... more

We have been to Babbo three times during our visits to NYC and it's simply and utterly an amazing experience. Food, service, atmosphere, everything is perfect. I recommend choosing a table upstars or in the bar (if you don't have a reservation). Our favourites are the grilled octopus for starter and the black spaghetti with mussels as well as the... more

We arrived at Babbo for dinner at 5:00 on Sunday (May 24th) and were escorted upstairs for dinner. It is clear that the upstairs is reserved for tourists, as people in jeans, polo shirts and shorts were soon to surround us. We, dressed properly for an evening out in jacket and tie and an elegant dress, must have made the... more

Instant impression when we walked through the door was very favourable - a buzzy restaurant with great lighting and a pleasurable hum of contented diners. They wouldn't seat us until our entire party of 6 had arrived - a little annoying, but they're not the only place to do this. Our waiter was very helpful in explaining the various dishes... more

I am a fairly frequent diner at Babbo, both for business and personal occasions, and the restaurants never disappoints. The food is inventive and delicious, the portions beyond generous, and the wine list is wide-ranging and excellent. I know that it can be a pain to get a reservation, but we are often lucky calling last minute, or just walking... more
