I've eaten at Babbo 6 times and each time, it has surpassed my expectations. The staff is amazing, the food is inspired italian cuisine and the wine pairings are always superb. It has none of the pretension one would expect of a restaurant of their caliber in NYC. I'll be back again.. and again!

I booked lunch for two well ahead for last Saturday. My business and lunch partner didn't feel well that day so I went alone. Entered Babbo which is one of the italian places I love and had some memorable dining moments in the past, and they placed me on a bar seat saying that this is their policy for solo... More

Great food, great setting, great service. We went to Babbo on a lively Saturday night for a family celebration. The convivial atmosphere was celebratory without being frenetic. Service was considerate, warm and professional. The food was delicious. Standouts--lamb's tongue vinaigrette, beef cheek ravioli, calves' brains "francobolli," sweetbreads. The sommelier recommended a tasty wine that matched our food beautifully. Babbo's setting... More

Came with my mother and sister as part of a visit to NYC. On the positive side, we had a good waiter and wine steward, both of whom made useful suggestions without being overbearing. Overall, the food was OK, but nothing to write home about. Vegetables were generally over-dressed. Skate was excellent, as was black spaghetti with scallops. But we... More

A friend recommended this place and I was lucky to get a reservation. They only book 30 days out and you pretty much have to call exactly 30 days out and then call to reconfirm 48 hours prior. It is a kind of a small place and was super packed. But it was lovely. The service was fantastic and the... More

My wife and I came to NYC for our 27th anniversary Dec 5 and chose Babbo. It did not disappoint. We loved it. Quaint location and atmosphere in Greenwich Village. The food and service were superb. I had the carpaccio for antipasti which was the best I've had. We split a wonderful pasta, and then I had the Branzino, deboned... More

I've always liked Babbo. I've liked it a lot - in fact, there's probably a glowing review out there from me on some sight. If not, I'll say it again, the food is excellent. I've liked it so much that I picked it to have a special celebration dinner this past Monday night (think several bottles of wine that you... More

Black spaghetti was great. Other pasta just fair. My Skate was outstanding as well as pork chop. Small restaurant with great service. I tight most of the pastas were just fair. The broccoli rabe a little bitter.

I have always been a fan of Mario Batali so while in NYC, I had to go to Babbo. Caution - they open reservations a month early and if you want a table you want to call within 3/4 days, otherwise no luck! We were on dietary restrictions hence could not try their famous steaks but we did order the... More
