The service was OK. The Matre D was kind of a pill. The food, albeit yummy, I've had better Italian, but because this place is "Mario Batali" it is hard to get a reservation (three months in advance is the norm). There is space to eat (2-3 tables) which are 1st come 1st serve. So if you MUST eat there... More

Went here for a dinner birthday with friends on a Saturday night. The website states that reservations were not needed and so we just walked in. Unfortunetly, we were told that we could only sit in the front part of the room. The menu was very unigue. Many things I've never have tried, but unfortunetly, because I;m Vegetarian and Lactose... We came in without a reservation and had to wait about 45 minutes for a table. The restaurant is lively and loud - if you don't like loud music and lots of noise this isn't the place for you. Had good service and even better food - all of the items we ordered were fantastic. The ribeye was probably the... More

Hard to get a reservation ... but so, so worth it! The nine course tasting menu was one of the best meals I've ever had. We got the wine pairing, and the sommelier was one of the most knowledgeable and friendly "winos" I've met. This is one of Mario's very best!

We're serious Mario Batali fans so we couldn't wait to dine here. And heavens knows it's hard enough to get a table (ours was 5:30, the earliest seating.) First of all, the level of service is what you'd expect-first rate. I started with a pasta with lobster, delicious, even if the lobster was a little overcooked. Big chunks of lobster... More

I was hear with a group of friends in New York for the US Open. We decided to go to Babbo because we love Mario Batali. We were certainly not disappointed. Appetizers, pastas and entrees were all very good. The wine list is comprehensive and service was spot on. Will definitely go back on my next visit to NYC.

Going to Babbo for Brunch is a special experience. When you enter you are greeted by a smiling hostess standing in front of a large centerpiece of colorful flowers. I recommend you order a bellini before you commit to anything on the menu. My husband and I come here when his family in town and the overwhelming favorite is the... More

We've tried getting into Babbo several times but getting a reservation can be a challenge, especially if you're not a regular or a celeb. But they do hold a few spots for walk-ins and this time we arrived at 6:15 on a weeknight and snagged the last available table. We decided to go for the Pasta Tasting Menu and it... More

This was our first visit to Babbo and I do not know why we waited so long. I always had the impression it was just too expensive. But, for lunch it was a good value. The food was stellar. The service was attentive but not obsequious. As expected here, but not found in all Italian restaurants, the pasta was cooked... More

We had a wonderful evening here for our last night in NYC. Although we had a late reservation for 10.15, the restaurant was still busy and lively. To start, I had a beautiful wild boar ragu that topped the same dish I had in Orvieto, Italy, famous for its boar ragu. My partner had a delicious goose liver ravioli. The... More
