Very nice atmosphere. Food was okay but for this price it should be fantastic. I ordered the feature, which was the Cornish Hen. It was pulled off the bone and cooked. This would have been fine except the two bites I took were both full of cartilage and parts of the bird I usually choose not to eat. The desserts... More

We stumbled across this place by complete chance, being British we'd never heard of Babbo. We thought the menu looked nice from the outside so walked in and discovered this beautiful hidden treasure! There is a few tables at the front for people who didn't book, so I would definitely recommend booking. We sat there but the service was still... More

Let me first describe what prompted this review in the first place. I will get to food later. Mind you this is not an average priced restaurant. Place was filled with very classy looking New Yorkers who had their reservations done days and weeks ahead. In the middle of our dinner, this homeless looking couple, with their dirty thirst and... We didn't experience the wonderful service that others have unfortunately. When we were served, the waitstaff was generally attentive and friendly. However, they were pretty non-existent. We had to ask for butter twice and it took a while to order wine. The bartender was snooty when we ordered wine. $100 for 2 for lunch is not cheap - so I... More

We ate there because a friend recommended it. We were a little underdressed, but we still sat down for dinner. The food was very good but the portions were not very big. Wine, cocktails and beer was very expensive. The food was definitely some of the best we had in New-York!

We had dinner after a theater show and were looking for a more adventurous Italian, something more than "generico Italiano". I can make a better pasta at home than most Italian restaurants that pop up around most cities, but not one of Mario Batali's joints. Our waiter (and I can't remember his name, unfortunately, but he's the Maitre D on... More

Eating at Mario Batali's flagship is a must for connoisseurs of Italian-American cuisine. There are a variety of Batali restaurants in New York, but Babbo is the crown jewel, and the food lived up to my expectations. I had a 9:00 reservation, and was promptly shown to a table on the second floor. The atmosphere was lively, but not too... More

This was hands down one of the finest Italian meals I've had. It was served by an extremely knowledgable and helpful waiter who clearly had a real passion for his work. The pastas were, obviously, excellent. The octopus starter - apparently one of their signatures - was excellent, and in contrast to the octopus I've had just about everywhere else... More

You absolutely get what you give here. Lots of entitled folks thinking they are entitled to dictate the show here were disappointed. You want to eat at Babbo, don't be late, return your confirmation calls, and expect to be one of the many anxious diners hoping for a fabulous meal. We had to wait about 25 minutes beyond our scheduled... More
