Our meal was very good but the pastas were great, the service could have been little friendlier, it is a very busy restaurant and kind of noisy but will return for those great pastas

I've dined at high end 3 michilin star restaraunts. I guess there is a reason they never granted Babbo for more stars. The food was ok, maybe because I had a high expectation for them. However, the service is just awful! Specially upon arrival and at the bar. The bartender totally forgot about us and when we waved at her... More

This is a non-descript restaurant in the middle of the block. When you enter you feel like you are dining in someone's dining room. The food is killer. The prosciutto appetizer is awesome. The seasonal soft shell crabs were outrageous. The beef cheek raviolis were awesome. The staff is friendly and helpful.

Oh boy, I had big expectations before coming here. And while Babbo is indeed superb dining experience with really, really good service, it has its flaws. The place is extremely noisy due to bad acoustics and a crowded bar, and although the food and wines are perfectly matched, it doesn't justify the high price tag. You definitely pay extra for... Had one of the best meals of our lives at Babbo in Greenwich Village. While eating lunch here, I saw an eccentric man in orange crocs walk in. I asked the waiter if that was Mario - I'd never seen him before - and, w/o looking, the waiter said no, that his boss never comes in at lunch time. I... More

My aunt is a huge Mario Battali fan and this was on her must do list for visiting NYC. My aunt and mother-in-law are handicapped so my husband dropped us at the door since there is no valet. The host refused to seat us because our whole party was not present. I explained the situation and he said we could... More

I continuously recommend Babbo to anyone visiting NYC. You can take a chance at getting a reservation but I have found walking in and waiting just fine. I have never waited more than 40min. Hands down the best pasta you will ever have. However, everything else is fantastic as well. Great wine list, solid desserts, and service is perfect. It... More

I am a huge fan of Mario Batali, so I felt that one of my "must do" in NYC was to have a meal at one of his restaurants. The place is very tight, we were lucky not to be seated beside the door. The music is quite loud and the room quite noisy, so if you plan for a... More

We had one of the best meals we have ever eaten at Babbo a few nights ago. Everything was interesting, prepared perfectly, served with grace, and really, really delicious. I am just really glad that we went along with our waiter's suggestion to try the olive oil cheese cake. Wow!

Staying in Greenwich Village

Neighborhood Profile
Greenwich Village
Commonly known as “the Village” to New Yorkers, it was here in Greenwich Village that both 1960’s counter culture and the LGBT movement were born. Famous for its bohemian past, head to Washington Square Park to get a feel for this diverse and energetic neighborhood. You’ll find NYU students, street performers, skateboarders, kids frolicking in the fountain, and locals relaxing and playing chess. Stroll the streets to discover a mix of majestic town homes and hidden bars and restaurants that give this neighborhood an old-school residential feel. When the sun goes down, check out one of the famous jazz or comedy clubs that still packs them in every night.
