Incredible pasta

I slipped into New York and thought it wouldn't be too much of a problem to get a spot at the bar for one, 10:30pm at night. How wrong I was. Lots of people waiting in the bar - in a good way, not a bad way. Lots of energy about the place and first class pasta. Great advice on... read more

Fabulous night in babbos . We arrived just after it opened on Sunday 15th feb and hasn't booked but got a lovely table .. Our waiter was very friendly and knowledgeable on the menu and made great recommendations. We had the prosciutto and the mussels to start followed by the beef cheek ravioli and the black spaghetti followed by cheesecake.... More

I wish I could comment on more of the food but my wife became ill shortly after we placed our order. We were checked our and wished well by all without a hitch. Thank you to John the maître'd and to the servers. In our brief experience they were attentive and the food and drinks I did enjoy were served... More

Visited with foodie friends from out of town who specifically were looking forward to eating at Babbo. While specific dishes were good, if not great (octopus, sweetbreads), others were just okay, especially a basic pasta with a tomato paste based sauce. The wine was OUTRAGEOUSLY priced. Batali is really making some bank, there. On to the service,. Truly a disappointment... More

We couldn't get a reservation but heard we could get a table if we were at the door when they opened at 5. We arrived early and a line had already formed and in talking with a regular we learned how great the bAr seating is. We sat at the bar and proceeded to have probably one of the best... More

We were in New York last week and were so looking forward to a yummy dinner at Babbo... but it was disappointing. We ordered the octopus appetizer and had to send it back because it was so hard... nothing like the one we have had on previous occasions. We also had the black ink pasta, and we ate it because... Three of us went for dinner here as a treat after I read a New Yorker article about the eccentric but incredibly talented chef. We thought the food was outstanding. Our waiter couldn't have been more knowledgable about the dishes and was very warm. The only glitch was the incredibly expensive selection of wines which meant the price of the... More

Mario Batali has long been my favourite Food Network chef, so on a weekend to NYC, had to drag my friends to Babbo. Called a week prior and the earliest reservation available was 11pm, but called back 2 days before and a table for 8pm was available, thanks to whoever cancelled. A bit chaotic upon arrival, the place was packed.... More

Loved our dining experience. From the wine to our starters (carpaccio and salad with a delicious dressing) to our dinner, the evening was impeccable. Service was equally great. But what makes Babbo beyond amazing was the Rib Eye Steak which was totally out of this world. Perfectly done, absolutely tasty and just the right thickness! Definitely one of the best... More
