Very inexpensive French bistro with a brunch that is prix fixe and includes Mimosa or Bloody Mary. Lovely place to be on a summer NYC visit. Reserve a table outside.

Yes, this is an authentic French experience but the cognoscenti know that most "authentic" French restaurants in Paris in this price range are mediocre. on a cold blustery day, we stopped for late lunch before catching movie on 23rd st.....very convenient, charming, tiny place w/ adorable garden area. good food and ambiance, would return.

I've dined at Gascogne many times during the last four years and have never been disappointed by the quality of the food. On occasion, the service might have been a little better and the ambiance less noisy, but overall the experience is worthwhile. Prices are reasonably moderate for NYC.
