Great food and atmosphere

Visited Friday 1/23/15, recommended by a friend. Started with Chicken Liver Mousse and Stracciatella Cheese, main courses Sea Bream and Braised Pork Ragu, complimented with a bottle of red. All exceeded expectations, would go back! Atmosphere was hip and relaxed. Enjoyed a Manhattan before... read more

I visited here with some friends during Restaurant Week for brunch and it was awesome! All the waitstaff were so nice, our waiter, I wish I remembered his name, was incredibly friendly, and so was woman greeting incomers at the front, and also the bartender. They were all very understanding of both our late arrival, and ordering past the brunch... More

Using the Coupon .......85 per person .. not bad.. but the hitch was they added the 20 per cent tip on what they deemed the actual worth of the meal.. whch they overvalued.. so the the gratuity became 35.00 plus 85.00.. not worth the portions. They actually had a 38.00 dinner dinner which was a better deal.. We felt as... More

Love the spaghetti Bolognese here. Bit on the pricey side but at least the food is good, clean and delicious. it won't blow you away but I love the ambiance and decor in this restaurant, although it gets a bit too loud sometimes. They have a little jazz trio that comes to play at night which is a nice touch.

Very pretty location on the corner of Hudson and Perry. Dinner was fine, but I don't think I would go back. Prices were high in my opinion for what you get. I had the beet salad, 14 dollars, it was tiny and the mussels, 17 dollars for the appetizer portion. My dining companion ordered the octopus which was so salty... More

After living in the Greatest City on Earth for almost three years, and trekking to the city for New Year's many more than that, I can say that my night at Spasso has been the best of all. My fiancée and I walked in to the candelit restaurant, reservation time 21h45, and were brought to our table. Immediately we were... More

We just walked it without any knowledge of this place. Wow! Nice place, excellent service. Music was good, nice ambiance. Really liked this place. Would definitely recommend. The braised pork ragu was so good, best dish we've had in a long time. We also had the chef's special which was this roast beef, topped on potatoes with an egg on... More

We had been wanting to eat here for some time as our neighbors raved about the place. To begin with Spasso gets the award for most unique use of branches and lights to decorate scaffolding. We were seated inside in cool air-conditioning at a window table for 4 (we were only a party of 3). Luckily the table for 2... More

This is a really nice little place for lunch or dinner. Only found this by accident during a walk around Greenwich Village. It is on a corner and the outside of this old building was very appealing to us. We did not have a booking but were advised that a table would be available in 15 to 20 minutes. So... More

We found this after finding a 2 hour waiting line in the spotted pig round the corner so had no expectations or prior knowledge at all. Turned out to be the best food I had throughout a 2 week St Barths and NYC trip (which set a high standard and precedent). Highly recommended...attentive service and truly delicious perfectly cooked steak.... More

Staying in West Village

Neighborhood Profile
West Village
Stretching from Sixth Avenue to the Hudson River, the West Village is one of the city’s most coveted addresses. Full of trendy shops, historic taverns, and cozy restaurants set amid 19th century architecture, this neighborhood has a unique old-world feel. You won’t find a more picturesque location in Manhattan. Without the traditional city grid layout, it’s easy to get lost here, but that’s part of the fun as you stroll down elegant narrow streets with beautiful brownstones. When you need a break, you can always stop in at one of the many quaint eateries or cafes to soak in the atmosphere, or head to the western edge of the neighborhood to enjoy magnificent waterfront views while taking a leisurely walk in Hudson River Park.
