Delicious food, noisy ambience

We enjoyed a tasty dinner, nice salads, well prepared pastas. The menu is auite small with some traditional and some creative dishes. The din in the room is deafening. If we had been in the middle of the restaurant, we would barely have been able to hear one another. We watched a waiter trying to... read more

Just meet with old friends at Spasso. Very good service and great food. We were inside but the outside option looked very nice. The best place we tried in the west Village

I visited Spasso with friends on a recent trip to New York. The service was fantastic. Johnny, our waiter was so friendly and everything he recommended he described with such enthusiasm that we had to try- and we were not disappointed. The food was simple yet incredibly tasty. We had brucetta with marinated pork, peppers and tomatoes to start (delicious)... More

A very comfortable place to eat either outdoors or inside or at the bar. Great manager, Rukiya takes care of customers and makes you feel very welcome. Food is moderately priced and very good. The linguini with clams was very good and the bar selection went well with food.

We had a good meal at Spasso -- it was not particularly memorable. Starters were the best part of the meal. The Stracciatella Cheese was delicious and we also enjoyed the stecca panino (broccolini). Our pasta dishes were good, but far from the best we have had in NYC or elsewhere. The waitstaff were exceedingly nice and helpful. All in... More

I visited here with some friends during Restaurant Week for brunch and it was awesome! All the waitstaff were so nice, our waiter, I wish I remembered his name, was incredibly friendly, and so was woman greeting incomers at the front, and also the bartender. They were all very understanding of both our late arrival, and ordering past the brunch... More

Using the Coupon .......85 per person .. not bad.. but the hitch was they added the 20 per cent tip on what they deemed the actual worth of the meal.. whch they overvalued.. so the the gratuity became 35.00 plus 85.00.. not worth the portions. They actually had a 38.00 dinner dinner which was a better deal.. We felt as... More

Love the spaghetti Bolognese here. Bit on the pricey side but at least the food is good, clean and delicious. it won't blow you away but I love the ambiance and decor in this restaurant, although it gets a bit too loud sometimes. They have a little jazz trio that comes to play at night which is a nice touch.

Very pretty location on the corner of Hudson and Perry. Dinner was fine, but I don't think I would go back. Prices were high in my opinion for what you get. I had the beet salad, 14 dollars, it was tiny and the mussels, 17 dollars for the appetizer portion. My dining companion ordered the octopus which was so salty... More

Staying in West Village

Neighborhood Profile
West Village
Stretching from Sixth Avenue to the Hudson River, the West Village is one of the city’s most coveted addresses. Full of trendy shops, historic taverns, and cozy restaurants set amid 19th century architecture, this neighborhood has a unique old-world feel. You won’t find a more picturesque location in Manhattan. Without the traditional city grid layout, it’s easy to get lost here, but that’s part of the fun as you stroll down elegant narrow streets with beautiful brownstones. When you need a break, you can always stop in at one of the many quaint eateries or cafes to soak in the atmosphere, or head to the western edge of the neighborhood to enjoy magnificent waterfront views while taking a leisurely walk in Hudson River Park.
