Great Upscale Mexican - walk to theatre

We had a great meal here on 4/7/15 before going to the theatre. High quality upscale Mexican food, with good service and very tasty margaritas. One caveat: We ended up over ordering because of the "tapas" description by the waitperson. Portions

We came here on a Monday night following a recommendation from a friend and we weren't disappointed. The food was amazing, the staff were really helpful and the margaritas must be tried. It is definitely worth a visit!

Just came in for a snack and made me regret not coming for dinner the day before when we were thinking about it. Food seems authentic, looks delicious, and tastes just as good as it looks. Fancier atmosphere than many Mexican places. Would recommend.

I was in NYC for work and a buddy of mine also happened to be in NYC at the same time. Neither of us really knew the restaurants in Hell's Kitchen, so I did a quick search of the best restaurants in that area. One of the restaurants in a top ten list was this place. Fortunately we didn't need... More

My husband and I showed a up few minutes early for our 7:00 reservation on a Saturday night. Before we even sat down the hostess said "we have back to back reservations, so you have to be finished by 8:30." Now, that would have been plenty of time, as long as the kitchen was fast, but being greeted with that... More

Don't go here looking for Tex-Mex food. they don't have any. No Frozen Margarita's or Burritos!!! This place has some more authentic dishes with excellent flavors. The Braised rib tacos and Steak tacos were excellent. The Guacamole and salsas were very tasty and had different and interesting flavors. We tried several Tequilas and enjoyed them all. Good atmosphere and freindly... More

My spouse and I are regulars here, and that's a rarity in Hell's Kitchen because there so many of the restaurants are just slightly above average. Anejo's cuisine is definitely a cut above the rest, with incredible margaritas (on tap, by the way), an intimidating tequila selection, always-interesting specials and the most addictive chips, salsas and guac in the city.

We ate here based on liking what we saw when we walked by. Very cozy (tables were a bit too crowded) but a nice tequila menu and small plates. Service was pretty good, chef gave us some shrimp tacos on the house on top of what we ordered for dinner, which was nice. The house drinks were fantastic. The food... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
