Perfect morning treat for anyone visiting NYC

A couple new yorker friends took me to this bakery during my short stint there - and Im grateful that they did! Their mouth-watering offerings do deserve all the hype they're getting. A bit on the pricey side but that's how treats are supposed to be! We hung around the mini bakery while we... read more

At first sight I was shocked with the prices but then I understood what all the fuss was about. They way this guy transforms your average desserts into something else is unbelievable. We arrived around 4pm so clearly there were no cronuts left but there's chocolate chip cookie shot available after 3pm. It's basically your average cookie but cooked in... More

Long wait to get food. Some of it was good, and some wasn't. We didn't have the cronit do might have missed out. Can't really recommend it.

We recently visited Dominique Ansel Bakery in NYC. We ordered 2 Cronuts, a choc chip cookie and a cup of fruit salad. The Cronuts are an absolute MUST! We weren't imprest with the mould on the fruit however. When we mentioned it to the lady behind the register she told us if we didn't have a receipt, then there's nothing... More

For a while now, the Cronut hype has kept this place swamped. Unless you pre-order cronuts from the website (not itself an easy task), you'll need to line up early in the morning to get your hands on them. They're good (not life-changing, as many seem to report), but don't overlook the rest of the bakery's offerings. There is a... More

I first attempted to pre order my Cronuts before my trip on their website. I felt like I was trying to get reservations for Disney. I missed my alarm only to remember a few hours later when the Cronuts were sold out. Thank goodness the bakery was only a few subway stops away from our hotel, so we tried for... More

I used to work in the 2nd best Patisserie in the world according to National Geographic's. I am very, very picky about my bakery, but also very, very curious, so this morning we go to DA at 7:45 and waited in line for an hour to get in the door. It was a lovely June morning, we had coffee and... More

We had high expectations but this place met it. We got there in the late afternoon (close to 6) and we had no wait. It's risky b/c they could have been out of the cookie cups that we were specifically looking for but fortunately we got the last 2. They were absolutely delicious. We also had the DK which was... Artistic pastries and a bustling fun atmosphere, this shop was brightly lit and boasted an enticing display but best of all was Dominique's Kouign Amann (the DKA) Clearly the best pastry I have ever tasted!

Staying in SoHo

Neighborhood Profile
SoHo
Once the artistic hub of New York, SoHo is now one of the premiere shopping destinations in the world. Housing everything from the most popular luxury brands to swank boutiques you won’t find anywhere else, this is a sophisticated shopper’s dream come true. Broadway is teeming with big-name stores and people during the day, while Prince and Spring Streets are the other main drags to explore. Take a detour down the quieter side streets to see the real star of the district – the world’s largest collection of intricate and elegant cast-iron architecture. What were once warehouses and art studios are now meticulously restored loft buildings favored by many of New York’s celebrities, making SoHo one of the trendiest addresses in the city.
