I must admit that I was somewhat skeptical of The Masalwala’s high rating here. However, the restaurant was within walking distance of our hotel and we both had a hankering for Indian food - something that isn’t readily available to us at home. Thankfully, I’d made a reservation earlier in the day because the place was full when we arrived.... More

First off, this place gives a joyous vibe. The owner's personal attention and sheer pleasure in hosting carries over to his staff. It's like a devil-may-care ride on the Bombay to Delhi express. Each plate was delivered hot off the tandoor oven... and truly delicious. Garlic naan, lamb biryani, chicken tiikka all loaded with flavor. Happy folks loving their food... More

My husband and I haven't lived in Brooklyn for long but I'm finding that people out here lack tastebuds. I haven't found a tasty South Asian restaurant in the area yet. My husband travels a lot and wanted a really good ethnic meal. Indian is his favorite so we made it a point to search for the best Indian in... More

My husband and I dined here the other day after many recommendations found on the forums. Normally on holiday we struggle to find a authentic Indian dining experience. However the good here was delicious, the chicken tikka masala tasted lovely and had a smooth sauce. The rice was nice and fluffy. And my husbands favourite was the garlic nan which... More

The prices are a bit higher than other Indian establishments, so you would expect a bit more quality and consistent food. Not quite, and I've ordered delivery via Seamless 3 times so far. 1st time: Badshahi Lamb Biryani arrived promptly, but was only slightly above body temperature. On the other hand, the flavor was excellent and the dish included a... More

After living in India for a year, I was on a search for legitimate Indian food. So far, quite unexpectedly and disappointing, NYC was underwhelming in authenticity, but MasalaWala was a wonderful change of pace and perspective! We had a lovely seat next to the window (they said we would be seated outside when we called that afternoon to make... More

My mum and me went here twice for dinner during our 3-day stay in New York this week. Both times, the food was absolutely delicious and the service was excellent. We enjoyed the Chicken Madras with rice, mango chutney and the best butter naan we have ever tasted. The restaurant is quite small but this only fosters the homey and... More

First time at this restaurant and it was a hit. Truly one of the best Indian restaurants in NYC and I've been to many. MasalaWala has a very extensive menu, the portions are large and cooked to perfection. The quarters are small but there's plenty of room to enjoy some of the best Indian cuisine I've ever tasted. The owner... More

We made a little research on trip advisor to find an nice and affordable Indian restaurant : based on the reviews, we have been brought there. Like expected everything has been impeccable. The food is impeccable(well prepared and cooked, sensational taste combinations, reasonable portions), same for the service (fast and courteous). However, a little thing disappointed us : Although the... More
