We were greeted like old friends when we arrived. Small cozy restaurant with superb food! We had food to take home (generous portions) and promptly devoured it the next day. We would highly recommend!!!!!

The staff were very attentive and the food was tasty. We visit a lot of Indian restaurants, and this one was pretty good. I enjoyed their 'califlower' appetizer, which although didn't sound good, was actually very flavorful! Never had anything like that before. Will go back again if we are in the neighborhood!

Fantastic food. Every last bit of it was delicious. Te staff were all very friendly and incredibly attentative. Mr Masala Wala himself, who is also an extremely nice and friendly guy, even spoke to us to check everything was good and then gave us a complimentary desert as we were paying the bill. Here for another 2 weeks and we... More

Visited Masala Wala this evening and suitably impressed. Great service, polite and punctual staff and excellent choice but the blown away by the taste and flavour of both our dishes. Genuinely friendly staff where nothing is too much - even got a chat with Masala Wala himself! If you want a good curry in New York, this is the place... More

I visited the restaurant with a few friends... It was out first time at Masalawala and we all loved it. The food & service were the most exceptional aspect. We ordered a few different items - all of which were very tasty. My personal favorite was the Chicken Tikka Masala. I would def. recommend !!

I went to this restaurant with a few friends for dinner and we all had a great time. The food at this place was amazing. We were torn between the menu options and the server provided us with great suggestions from the parameters we gave him. While we were waiting for our food we were greeted by the owner who... More

Me and my wife have walked for hours to get there. However, we became very sad for the low quality of service and taste. Plates are small. Overall other reviews are illusion , nothing special.

We were expecting a real foodie experience but that is not exactly what we got. The place was great, small and cozy, not very full for a Saturday night. Service was good and our appetizers were full of flavor. My nephew had the saffron chicken. It was a little dry and he found a hair in it. The chicken vendaloo... More

This place had some great food, we were skeptical at first as the place is literally a hole in the wall but the staff gave great service, had awesome recommendations and our meals were out of this world.

This tiny restaurant, seriously off the beaten path, features marvelously prepared dishes from different Indian cuisines. Go with a bunch of people so you can share and compare. This is the best deal for Indian food in NYC, better than the Jackson Diner, and that's saying something. And there's street parking.
