First time at this restaurant and it was a hit. Truly one of the best Indian restaurants in NYC and I've been to many. MasalaWala has a very extensive menu, the portions are large and cooked to perfection. The quarters are small but there's plenty of room to enjoy some of the best Indian cuisine I've ever tasted. The owner... More

We made a little research on trip advisor to find an nice and affordable Indian restaurant : based on the reviews, we have been brought there. Like expected everything has been impeccable. The food is impeccable(well prepared and cooked, sensational taste combinations, reasonable portions), same for the service (fast and courteous). However, a little thing disappointed us : Although the... More

We love Indian Food. However, this was an outstanding experience. We visited New York and happened upon this restaurant. We ordered spinach, chicken tandoori, garlic naan and other dishes. Each meal was a treat that enveloped our mouths. The naan was fresh and delicious. The chicken was tender with just the right amount of spicy. We were astonished at how... More

We loved this restaurant for the food, wait staff, and Mr. Wasalawala . We felt like we were so welcomed by him, he made it fun to be there and the food was fantastic from the appetizers to the dessert, we tried it all and everything was great.

Great food. The naan breads are so fresh and tasty. The service is great too. We got free mango and pistachio kulfie because we had to wait a few mins for the table.

I eat a lot of Indian food. This one is by far the best I've had. The owner himself walks around making sure the patrons like the food. Everything was tasty and fresh. Highly reccomend.

We stumbled upon this gem in the East Village on Saturday night. We were staying on Rivington Street and used the fabulous feature on the trip advisor app, 'near me now'. On the recommendation of other visitors we tried the Kolkata Gobi cauliflower appetiser which was delicious, as well as the samosa chaat. We chose Saagwala chicken curry and Jalfrezi... More

You have to visit this restaurant to know it. Excellent food, warm welcoming owner, attentive staff is the main attractions. The Masalawala is a Bengali fellow settled in New York few years back & running restaurant as his retirement job. but by doing this he is doing good for people to introduce them a fine Indian food. His Biryani was good... More

The food here is overall more flavorful than in most Indian restaurants we have sampled, and we live right near Little India in Manhattan so we've been to quite a few. Yes, we had the Kolkata Gobi cauliflower appetizer everyone raves about. It was delicious but probably not the healthiest version of cauliflower you could have. We had a lamb... More
