Friendly and Great food

Enjoyed a meal here, the service is very good and friendly, place is a bit cramped and hard to hear one another but still a pleasant experience.

Great little Indian restaurant tucked into a small dining space. Be prepared to eat with your neighbor but that's part of the enjoyment of this quaint little New York style Indian gourmet restaurant. Recommend lentil soup!

The food was as great as everything. We ordered the Samosa Chat as starters. It was incredible and a little spicy, exactly how I used to have back in India. Then as a main entrée we had the Chicken tika masala. We ordered in Indian Hot which was upto the mark. It came with white rice. The garlic naan bread... More

The best Indian cuisine I have ever experienced. The spice level was perfect, the waitstaff very attentive, and overall the experience was wonderful!

Although the service, lamb chops, appetizers, and tandoori shrimp, were excellent; the eggplant dish, (puréed and muddy tasting), lamb kebab (very dry, finely ground lamb), another lamb dish I forgot the name of, (ground lamb in a curry), were poor. There were five of us and we shared all the dishes. The conclusions were unanimous. Perhaps as Americans, we don't... More

What can I say....we go to Indian restaurants in every single big city we visit. I'm not going to start with the food...the service was excellent. From the moment we walked in, we felt like part of the family. We asked for another table, since ours was by the door and it got quite cold every time the door opened.... More

When asked to write a review of my favorite Indian restaurant, this is the one that immediately came to mind. New York is full of good Indian restaurants. There are tons on 6th Street in the West Village, many curry houses in Kips Bay where the taxi stands are located but this little gem on the Lower East Side is... More

The best Indian food I've ate outside India. Me and my husband ordered palak-paneer, malai-kofta, Garlic-naan and gulab-jamun and chai for desert. everything was great, without exceptions. The service is great. The dishes are generous. The prices are reasonable. only thing to comment about is that for me the dishes were a bit too spicy, but still ok. If you... More

I had high expectations after all the great reviews on here but though we were greeted and welcomed warmly, unfortunately it all went downhill from there onwards. My husband and brothers meals were wrong and mine was a mix of lambs and chicken when I asked for chicken. Also half way through my meal I noticed that there was a... More

Staying in Lower East Side

Neighborhood Profile
Lower East Side
Straddling the bridge between New York’s thriving immigrant past and its modern transformation into a beacon of global art and culture, the Lower East Side is one of the most dynamic neighborhoods in the city. The blocks of tenements that represented the promise and blight of the Lower East Side immigrant experience now command top dollar for new residents. Right next to old-world delis, 24-hour bodegas, and the garment shops of Orchard Street, you’ll find hip clubs, fashionable bistros, and luxury hotels beckoning at all hours of the evening. If you love nightlife and live music, it’s hard to beat the scene here.
