Poor Appetizer, Great Angus Hamburger

Nice decor here (see photo) and attentive service. The food here is clearly inconsistent. That opinion is the result of a sharp contrast in quality of the preparation and resulting taste of my appetizer and main course. This place got recommended a lot to me but still it's a big thing choosing somewhere for a birthday dinner for 15 people for a special meal. The reservations/events guys were great helping me organise it (shout out Bethaney). NYC restaurants in general are heavy on you being on time or they will charge you or give your table away... Last minute switch from DBGB to Saxon...so happy we did it! Wonderful cocktails to start-celery gimlet and a Manhattan did not disappoint! Shared apps--grilled octopus, razor clam 'egg salad' and uni--all wonderfully prepared. Be sure to get a mushroom pot-crazy good! Mains were equally good: hangar steak w bone marrow bernaise--my wife was drueling. Roasted cod and gnudi knocked us... More

Went in so my husband could try the burger which had popped up on some top list and he was very happy (I enjoyed the bite I "stole" as well). I opted for the scallops dish which was excellent and we shared some very yummy squash. Beer, wine, and cocktail selection was great too and service was very attentive. We... More

I was wondering around the NoHo area to find a spot for dinner and came across Saxon and Parole while walking. We went in without a booking around 5:30pm and there was no-one in the restaurant and a few people at the bar. The food, was excellent. Between us we had the burger, carrot and ginger soup and tuna. I... More

30 of your closest business associates have a great time at this place. Great apps and entree options for this big crowd.

I picked this place because it's almost across the street from the Bowery hotel which is great if you are staying there. You want to get a table in the back if you want a quieter experience away from the noise of the bar and entrance. Our waitress was very friendly and offered to let us try 3 different beers... More

One of my favorite NYC spots! My fiance and I always love to come here for a delicious meal and fun atmosphere. The drinks are great and the bone marrow is fantastic.

I was travelling to NYC for work and met a friend (a local) here for Sunday brunch and cocktails. The cocktails were awesome and it included a Bloody Mary bar .... you basically make your own. I was a little reluctant to do this but you can't go wrong. We also had a great brunch - I had eggs with... More

My girlfriends brought me here on Sunday night to celebrate my birthday. We are food snobs. The place is beautiful...pretty bar...cool lighting...very nice staff. Our server was Brian and he was fantastic. Knowledgeable and personable, he had a good time with us. We shared a bunch of different dishes which were all amazing. The cocktails were fabulous. The only negative... More
