Hidden Gem!

What can I say? Can I give this place 10 stars? I did my research before going to NYC to find some hidden gem restaurants and found this place. Seats about 24 people and there's one waiter that does everything. He totally had everything under control, it was amazing. The macaroni and cheese is so... read more

I have a friend who used to live in the neighborhood and she introduced me to Heidi's House. It was our favorite meet up spot because the small plates are delicious and they have a "can't go wrong" wine selection. Even though she doesn't live in the neighborhood anymore, when I have friends visit me in NYC I take them... More

Great organic food and friendly service. Save room for their signature desserts. Call ahead to be put on wait list.

Had dinner here. Food is very good, although the open faced burger is really difficult to eat because it is very large and round. Not really open faced...My husband's gnocchi were excellent, but the portion was very small. The food is pricey, but maybe not for the Upper East Side. Very well chosen wine list with nicely priced bottles of... More

Heidi's house is a cute little "hole in the wall" on the Upper East Side. Great wine selection and excellent food dishes. I always make a stop here when I am in town.

"Cozy" is my word of choice for Heidi's. I am so grateful I finally had the courage to give it a whirl since it's tiny and therefore always seemed "packed". The menu may not have a ton of options but everything is fresh and delicious and I appreciate the wine selection. There are very limited tables and they're tiny so... More

This is a "gem", as others have written. But be prepared to pay up for discomfort. It is literally a hole in the wall by New York standards. Only one table for four, if you can call it that. It's a bar-top about 18 inches across with four stools without backs. Eat fast if you have a sensitive back! The... More

You can literally walk past this place without a note - as we did for several years. Stop. Fabulous food, great wines, and wonderful service. Heidi is fabulous, but Freddie and all the staff are just great. Love it.

I really do not want to review this restaurant because it is such a gem and hard to get into now that if everyone discovers one of THE BEST in NEW YORK, it will be impossible to get in.However, I MUST!! There is no liquor only beer and great wine! All the food here is YUM YUM!! The kitchen staff... More

If you blink you'll miss this place. It is an adorable "hole in the wall" spot with a small bar & tables for 2. It's a great spot for conversation, wine and some excellent food. If you're looking for an East Side gem, this is it. There seems to always be a waiting list to sit but it is undoubtedly... More

Staying in Upper East Side

Neighborhood Profile
Upper East Side
Combining quiet residential neighborhoods that have easy access to Central Park with world-famous cultural institutions, the Upper East Side is one of the most livable places in the city. Along beautiful Fifth Avenue, you’ll find Museum Mile, which houses many of the nation's most famous attractions in a single stretch, like The Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Guggenheim Museum. Walk a few blocks into the neighborhood, and you’ll come to Park Avenue, the poshest address in the city, lined with grand apartment buildings as far as the eye can see. Even if you can’t afford the luxury goods along Madison Avenue, it’s still a great spot to window shop an afternoon away.
