"Cozy" is my word of choice for Heidi's. I am so grateful I finally had the courage to give it a whirl since it's tiny and therefore always seemed "packed". The menu may not have a ton of options but everything is fresh and delicious and I appreciate the wine selection. There are very limited tables and they're tiny so... More

This is a "gem", as others have written. But be prepared to pay up for discomfort. It is literally a hole in the wall by New York standards. Only one table for four, if you can call it that. It's a bar-top about 18 inches across with four stools without backs. Eat fast if you have a sensitive back! The... More

You can literally walk past this place without a note - as we did for several years. Stop. Fabulous food, great wines, and wonderful service. Heidi is fabulous, but Freddie and all the staff are just great. Love it.

I really do not want to review this restaurant because it is such a gem and hard to get into now that if everyone discovers one of THE BEST in NEW YORK, it will be impossible to get in.However, I MUST!! There is no liquor only beer and great wine! All the food here is YUM YUM!! The kitchen staff... More

If you blink you'll miss this place. It is an adorable "hole in the wall" spot with a small bar & tables for 2. It's a great spot for conversation, wine and some excellent food. If you're looking for an East Side gem, this is it. There seems to always be a waiting list to sit but it is undoubtedly... More

This wine bar/bistro has terrific food and drinks! Good chummy service. The seared bonesless chicken was very delicious, as was the paella. Great wine list. Keep in mind this is a VERY small place, for single or couples only. There are about 6 tables and 14 bar seats. Its not good for a group, and if you're not good with... More

My husband and I lived in NYC about ten blocks away from here. This is by far our favorite restaurant to go to. We went here about once a week because the food and wine selection is amazing. The owner and servers are always so friendly and helpful. Our favorite items on the menu are the guacamole, shrimp tacos, the... More

Its the place for excellent food and a great ambience at reasonable prices. It is small and intimate and I think there's only one table that seats 4, but a terrific place. Order the mac & cheese and prepare to see the comfort food Buddha. You will pass to the next life a happy soul.

Open at 5 pm every evening, this restaurant and bar is a find. The food is incredible, with great salads, appetizers and entrees. There is a special every day and the asparagus artichoke ravioli I had was divine. The beef salad (think deconstructed Vietnamese lettuce wrap) was so good I almost ordered it both times I was there. Dessert was... More

Heidi's House is a bit of misnomer - more a home than a house, it's smaller (and cozier) than a fourth floor walkup. Small and filled with personality, this Upper East Side micro-diner is a real neighborhood treasure. A clever layout features a long bar on one wall, and three two-tops and one four top on the other, the designers... More
