Our go-to Asian restaurant in the neighborhood

My husband and I stayed in NY on 47th St. for 16 days in September 2014. We went to Jing twice during our stay - once with a friend and once after a show. Both times the food was really good, we shared our dishes and enjoyed them. I was particularly impressed with our second visit when we were... read more

Went on recommendation and they must have had an off day. We asked to have half portions, so we could sample a few dishes. Unfriendly and unhelpful staff. Plain and simply they told us, no we cannot! Many thanks! Got up and left! Business must be great for them!!! Went to lovely Thai restaurant just steps away called VIV. Excellent... More

This was our 2nd visit to Jing and it did not disappoint. There's only so many ways to prepare Chinese food, but they seem to do something different. we think it's a wonderful place to eat. The only minor complaint, is that we sat right neat to where they were preparing sushi, And for those who don't care for sushi... More

New trip to NY, new visit to this restaurant. Two visits, to be honest. Their food is still great. In both occasions, we had bento box with sushi and it was flawless. The second time we had also a gyoza as appetizer. It tasted flavorless and it was cold. The service does still need improvements. And I mean they really... More

I have been coming to Jing for years... Always one of my favorite places... What happened ? the last few times the food has been very disappointing ...the orange beef was almost impissible to chew...I thought I was in at $6.95 Chinese buffet in NJ...very disappointed I'm not sure if we'll be back.

We had dinner here and enjoyed the sushi, and the cold peanut sauce noodles and miso soup. The staff was pleasant and helpful and the prices were reasonable.

Had take out from here tonight. The Maguro was not great. The crab stick was better. The two rolls we had (Spider and shrimp/avocado) were tasty. Great prices for NYC.

We are local 'foodies', and we find ourselves consistently tempted to return to Jing when we are going to see a show. Great sushi, excellent value. Anyone who loves Ecuadorian-style ceviche will become addicted to theirs! Service is always excellent.

Found this place using Google Maps and TripAdvisor. Sure glad that I did! This place is also known as A. A. Jing if you are Googling. We were looking for a place to eat before our show and 9th Ave has plenty of good choices. I did not make a reservation but we walked in at about 6:15 on a... More

Knowing we were seeing a Broadway play, we selected a Chinese restaurant that I found online called Jing. We arrived to an empty restaurant, which temporarily unnerved us, but no worries - the food and service were outstanding. There were three of us, and we ordered three excellent appetizers: tasty fried pork dumplings, spring rolls and scallion pancakes, all staples... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
