Slightly Oliver is located in Manhattan on Amsterdam Avenue between West 84th & 85th Streets on the east side of the street. This is a lovely restaurant ,pub, where the food is exceptionally good, especially love the Salmon Tartar (appetizer, snack) which I have found to be one of the best around town, the Truffles and Mushroom Flatbread (which is... Pricey for some menu items like flat breads but you can't beat the $1.00 happy hour oysters! Service was quick, friendly and attentive.Outside cafe provided interesting street scenes.House wine was decent and a nice pour for the price,Can't speak to dinner foods or inside service since we were there for Happy Hour only..

Slightly Oliver is a bit of a paradox... a restaurant with a great atmosphere and good food, but disastrous service. We should know... we went twice [because of the food] and because the service on the first night was odd but not terrible. But on night 2, the whole thing fell apart. Our drinks took 30 minutes to arrive. The... More

Six of us met at Oliver's for dinner. We had a reasonably quiet table in the rear of the restaurant. The service throughout the evening was not good i.e. long wait for a drink, over twenty minutes, servers delivering food with no idea who ordered what, main course delivered before appetizer dishes were cleared so we had to put things... I was surprised that this place wasn't busier on a Saturday evening at 7. Menu is pretty basic (I thought the scotch eggs were a nice touch though). Burger was fine, not great. Kind of funky trimmings in the interior. Love the name of the restaurant.

Crepes were great! Burger good too. We waited a half hour to get 2 dishes... there were very few tables, so they were not busy. Not sure what happened, but this is the second time I ate there, ordered simple food and waited a long time for it to come. For what it is worth it has top be the... More

This place was great when I came in. Did a late Sunday brunch around 1pm - no wait and got a nice booth with a view. The service was awesome, quick refills of the mimosas, friendly, and all around nice. The food was great for the 28 bucks all you can eat/drink brunch I was happy. The eggs and French... More

My wife and I went to SO for lunch on May 12th for the first and last time. The restaurant layout wasn't bad and the curtained booths are a good idea. My review: Service - terrible. They had no idea! no side plates for oyster appetizer, haphazard water service, no bread, slow to take drink orders. Food - Just ok,... More

Fun, a little noisy with a great helpful and knowledgeable staff. The food was good and reasonable the drinks were unusual and well concocted and the beer was interesting.

We went for New Year's Day brunch. We ordered promptly and then waited 45 minutes for our food. The food was gross. My medium-rare steak and eggs came overly well done and tasted like leather and the eggs were runny. They apparently had no Canadian bacon because my boyfriends eggs Benedict had strips of regular bacon, and the hollandaise sauce... More
