Delicious food and good value

On our first night in NYC, this time staying in the East village rather than central Manhattan, we talk a walk around Chinatown and decided to get some food to take back to the apartment. Situated in the popular China town in New York, this restaurant is quite busy with tourists due to the location. I however was not overly impressed and will probably not return. Everything that I ate (hot and sour soup plus shredded pork with tofu) tasted like tofu. My wife enjoyed her pepper chicken with vegetable noodle soup.

Don't look for 'atmosphere', but expect very good food at (relatively) low prices. My wife and I had sea bass(which was truly exceptional) and pork shoulder(which was very good). We ate all the fish, and took home some of the pork...... with tip $54.16. I'd eat here again.

We had dinner with two kids. The place is efficient and friendly, good recommendations by the server. We tried a range of different dishes (pork, beef vegetarian), liked them all. Scallion pancakes are good for starters or as a side. Drink choices for kids are limited to soft drinks, tea or water.

The food here is insane, possibly the best Chinese food i have ever had, and I have had a lot!! Be warned that at peak times the service can suffer a little. We did have to make ourselves known to the staff a couple of times. But do not let this put you off going there, as the food is... More

Awful experience in China Town. The menu is not clear. I asked for fryed noodles and got dry raw crisp noodles which was unexpected. My other half ordered fish noodles and was given a broth. Asides from that the pork is nothing but fat and the smoked fish was very boney. When we paied then instead of waiting to see... More

We were there for a quick lunch. 2 adults with two kids. The restaurant is small and was crowded but the service was good. The food was great. Especially the dumplings.

We visited this place in the middle of the week with good expectations after having explored the Chinatown up and down. It was a cold afternoon and very nice to find a pot of tea ready on the table. That was the best part of the visit. We ordered some west lake bf soup and another dish, spring rolls etc.... More

Had an A rating and the menu looked good so we went in. We all got different entrees and the dumplings. Everyone loved theirs. Service was good considering it was so busy.

Nothing fancy here. Just very good Chinese cuisine served by an efficient waitstaff. The soup dumplings were particularly good.Very busy place and a little crowded but they make it work. All of our appetizers and entrees came out quickly and well prepared.Portion sizes are adequate and everything was reasonably priced.

Staying in Chinatown

Neighborhood Profile
Chinatown
Bursting with an amazing array of sights, sounds, and smells on every block, a visit to Chinatown feels like entering a different world. It’s a colorful spectacle that gets even more crowded on weekends, when families stream in to enjoy huge dim sum feasts and to stock up at the markets on Mott Street. To take a break from the buzz, grab something sweet from one of the many bakeries in the area and head to Columbus Park, where many Chinatown residents exercise, play games, and chat the day away.
