A bit noisy, but LOVELY pasta!!!

We popped in to this lovely place when just enetered Little Italy and we were starving. The carbonara was really good. The only bad thing was that the soda wasn't cold. Other than that it was a nice restaurant.

Check your surroundings when dining here - you'll then understand Luna's "history". Fabulous food. Impossible to leave hungry or empty-handed. Probably the best red-sauce ever. Sausage & Peppers to die-for. Think every Little Italy stereotype you've ever heard - & Luna epitomizes it. Skip appies/salads (despite being really good) - go directly to pasta - then protein - and, if... More

The restaurant was very reasonably priced and the menu looked attractive, we were not disappointed. The food was authentic Italian so i tried each night the spaghetti which was excellent. Each meal was accompanied by crispy bread, as much as you liked. The deserts were also excellent. After our first night we were not charged for our sweets. The service... More

I took my 13 year old daughter to NYC in June 2015. My friend and her 10 year old daughter joined us on the trip. My daughter is the one who picked Luna's for lunch and it was amazing! The staff was very friendly and attentive. Our meals were fantastic and big portions as well. I will definitely go back... More

Staff was friendly and helpful the tomato basil pizza was delightful. We talked to the owner, she was the nicest lady. This business has been in the family for decades. I highly recommend.

Caprese Buffalo mozzarella for an appetizer with tomato and basil. A slight sweet taste, maybe honey vinegrete, which was nice. 3 average slices of cheese for $12. The street maitre d said we make our own bread. It came out partial frozen. I think he meant we reheat the bread. Midday specials $9.95 Rigatoni with pesto and pasta arrabbiata. Nice... More

Food was fantastic and was plentiful. The bread left much to be desired. When I come to Little Italy, it's about the bread and the sauce and the sauce hit the mark but the bread was a disappointment.

Old style cooking, old style service, the veal!! We hadn't great dining experience here. After our entrees, a huge slab of tiramisu for the table, with complements from the house. Papa gave hugs all around at departure!

Staying in Little Italy

Neighborhood Profile
Little Italy
While Little Italy is one of the city's smallest neighbourhoods, its streets are packed with visitors from around the globe, especially on summer weekends when the streets are closed to traffic. Stroll up Mulberry Street, the heart of Little Italy, for a dense mix of Italian restaurants with sidewalk tables, cafes, and old-school food shops. Don’t be surprised when the hosts beckon you to pay them a visit. Stop in for a coffee and a cannoli, or grab a streetside table to take in the scenery over a hearty Italian meal.
