Nice spot to eat in Little Italy

We were exploring Little Italy and were talked in here as we were looking for somewhere to have lunch. When we arrived it was pretty empty but did fill up. Old style cooking, old style service, the veal!! We hadn't great dining experience here. After our entrees, a huge slab of tiramisu for the table, with complements from the house. Papa gave hugs all around at departure!

We arrived in Little Italy, tired and hungry (but not poor), and set out to look for a place to eat. We had not wandered far, looking at the streetside menus, when the barker (as I call the gentlemen stationed out front to steer patrons to their door) lured us in with his friendly demeanor and clever salesmanship. Once seated,... More

We were recommended this place by one of the managers in Century 21 as we were looking for something good in Little Italy. The service was friendly and genuine if a little slow. Also the place was utterly empty at 8pm on a Monday night which was a shame - they had the TV on but some nice Italian music... More

Luna's is a always on my "must go" list when in New York. The food is wonderful, and the service is excellent. I feel like I am a guest in a good friends home when I am at Luna's - thats what keeps me coming back year after year.

I love this place and have visited here many times over the years! I had a delicious Chicken Francese and my husband had Meatballs and all was wonderful! The homemade dessert, Tiramisu was the best. This is a cute, small place beautifully lit in the early evening hours and is much better than the touristy, overpriced places in the neighborhood.... More

This was a very cold night and as soon as we got onto Mulberry street, the guy outside talked us in. We were glad to get out of the cold. The food was flavourless and not to taste garlic in an Italian restaurant should have told us something. 90 bucks for 2 starters and 2 entrees, no drinks, a little... More

We went in as it was the first place we came across in Mulberry St. We had 4 Meals equaling $47 and 2 soft drinks, 1 beer & a wine. The Bill was an unreadable hand written receipt that somehow worked out to be $100 even, Were are the IRS when you need them.

Staying in Little Italy

Neighborhood Profile
Little Italy
While Little Italy is one of the city's smallest neighbourhoods, its streets are packed with visitors from around the globe, especially on summer weekends when the streets are closed to traffic. Stroll up Mulberry Street, the heart of Little Italy, for a dense mix of Italian restaurants with sidewalk tables, cafes, and old-school food shops. Don’t be surprised when the hosts beckon you to pay them a visit. Stop in for a coffee and a cannoli, or grab a streetside table to take in the scenery over a hearty Italian meal.
