This was my first time to visit the world famous Laduree on Madison Ave. When I arrived I was lucky to park my car on Madison Ave. directly in front of Laduree. The Laduree family history goes back to 1862. They are noted for the best macaroons in the U.S.A and possibly the world. When I arrived I expected to... More

There's usually a line at this upscale shop, but the macarons are wonderful, with a price tag to match. Much pricier than they are in Paris. Only a few tables uptown on Madison Ave, although I've never eaten there...not a full-blown lunch like you can get in Paris.

You must go in to Laduree for Macaron! The assortment of flavors is amazing. A little box of these makes the most wonderful hostess or girlfriend gift ever! The flavor assortment is out of this world. Forget cupcakes. Step up your game. These were amazing.

With an air of a Parisian pastry cafe, Maison Laduree provides a perfect resting spot from your trip to the Frick Collection or just a walk down the street. The counter of delectable macarons has you dreaming as soon as you enter and are the freshest, lightest, creamiest, with a slight delicate crunch to the outer shells with the first... More

Beautiful, delicious and a special treat. The flavors are outstanding. Others may try to imitate, but not so. Packaging is so pretty. The crowded interior is magical. Love it!

I've been to the Soho location which is bigger but this location is just as amazing. It was crowded when I went but the line went fast. The employees were nice and sweet and gave everyone a great experience. I bought a 24 box and they were so nice to give me an extra bag for I wanted to give... More

While meandering the Upper East Side after visiting the Frick Collection, I saw this quaint macaron patisserie boasting every shade of pastel imaginable. There was a decent line that moved slowly, mostly because customers were buying several boxes for Christmas presents. I noticed a small nook to the right with a few tables that were empty, and easily grabbed one... More

I went here my sister raves about their macaroons. They were very good but expensive. However, I'm not convinced they are worth going out of your way to try them. I would go there if I was close by. I went in on the Monday afternoon of Christmas week. So it was busy but it didn't take me long to... More

We walked all over the city to locate the elusive earl grey macaroon. Totally work the walk. Melt in your mouth delicious. This shop is exaclty what you would expect. Looks like Paris in the middle of NYC.

Staying in Upper East Side

Neighborhood Profile
Upper East Side
Combining quiet residential neighborhoods that have easy access to Central Park with world-famous cultural institutions, the Upper East Side is one of the most livable places in the city. Along beautiful Fifth Avenue, you’ll find Museum Mile, which houses many of the nation's most famous attractions in a single stretch, like The Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Guggenheim Museum. Walk a few blocks into the neighborhood, and you’ll come to Park Avenue, the poshest address in the city, lined with grand apartment buildings as far as the eye can see. Even if you can’t afford the luxury goods along Madison Avenue, it’s still a great spot to window shop an afternoon away.
