This is one of the coolest places I've eaten at in a while. From the pawn shop in the front the the lounge area upstairs, you can't help but feel like you've stumbled upon some secret gem (even though its not so secret) Loved the atmosphere and the food was great too. Probably not one of my favorite meals -the... More

Very cool spot - totally what you'd picture as "NYC" vibe. Loud & busy for sure, but that's kind of the point. I could easily hear what my husband was saying across the table, if that's any indication of volume level... FOOD - yum. We had the grilled cheese/tomato soup dumplings - THE BEST. I would've had another order if... More

Really cool place to start the evening, continue and then finish. Not a place for the one who wants to have a profound conversation, this place is loud! After dinner you just slip into the bar and continue having fun. Food is just ok but the atmosphere is great!

Firstly, if you are looking for a quiet, intimate meal then this is not the place for you. However, if you are looking for a great NY dining experience, then you will love this place. From arriving at the pawn shop and being shown through the back door to the amazing bar & restaurant, I knew I had found somewhere... More

Really cool place that looked like a beauty saloon and high end resturant. I ate a really good vinaigrette salad for starter and had one of their hamburger "specialities" for main dish. I was a bit dissapointed about the hamburger, I had high expectations and I did not go all the way up. My girlfriend also told me that they... More

Beauty and Essex is a little too trendy for its own good. The food was creative and generally very solid, as were the cocktails. Unfortunately, though, management lets it get so loud inside that it's impossible to hear. Our group of four could barely have a real conversation, and none of us are old farts. It got really obnoxious and... More

Beauty and Essex is like Buddakan and all those other mega dinner places, AMAZING! Have been here numerous times, but the most recent had the tasting menu. The amount of food that came out was incredible, and each dish better then the last. I love coming here with big groups and for special events, although they will kick you out... More

We had dinner here around 9:30pm, service was in full swing and the atmosphere was great. You'd never know how big the place is by the thrift shop storefront outside! Very friendly staff, delicious cocktails, great wine list and the food was fabulous....the mini grilled cheese sandwiches were amazing! I honestly think for the portion size it's excellent value for... More

This place was reccomend to me by quite a few people. I would suggest you book. The entrance is very quaint (through a pawn shop) and the restaurant decor once inside is lovely. The food is exceptional and the cocktails are delicious. It is on the pricey side but if you enjoy fine food and a trendy place then head... More

A friend told me about this place and my advice to you general public is that you must go for brunch. A strange looking venue as it is a pawn shop on the outside but a nice little bar inside and then a fancy restaurant inside. We loved this place and although not al the servers were great, the food... More
