Ive been here for drinks but never for dinner. The food was excellent. I really enjoyed the ribs and the ruby mojito. Service was friendly and prompt but I wish I would have come on a slower night. The champagne in the women's restroom was a nice touch. We ended up chatting with some strangers which was cool. I would... More

I had booked my table a month in advance with open table after hearing about the restaurant from a friend and was very excited to try it. After we had arrived and I had given my name to desk, the hostess told me she couldn't find my reservation so I showed her the confirmation email I had received earlier that... More

This place is where the cool people go to dine and dance. The food for these types of places is usually disappointing but we were pleasantly surprised that the food was just as tasty as we hoped it would be. Highly recommend it for a fun night out.

I am totally grateful to the friend that recommended Beauty and Essex to me. Out of four nights in New York, we ate there twice. Pawn shop entrance was unexpected but when the door opens to the dining room another world emerges. Fun staff, great food, fair value. So impressed I am returning to New York in March and will... Visited New York for a short trip and decided to dine here on the last night since it was my boyfriend's birthday. Firstly I would say that the reservation process was great, I booked on open table called the actual day to confirm and while the interaction on the phone was quite curt the reservation was there at the requested... Don't go here if you don't like noise. Great music and ambiance made going to this restaurant took away our desire to seek additional nightlife after leaving here. The food was amazing, although the plates were small. I had sweet potato ravioli and wished it never ended, The desserts are large and delicious. We loved our waiter. He was tons... More

The pawn shop entrance is clever even though it seems kind of kitschy. The decor reminded me of The Haunted Mansion at Disneyland to a certain extent. Especially the hostess area. While the service was friendly enough, the food was disappointing. The tuna tartare was tiny, the lobster tacos were chewy and the Philadelphia pretzel, which sounded heavenly, was cold.... More

You enter through an unimposing porn shop through a large heavy designer door into a bar area then into a large and vibrant restaurant. There is a nightclub upstairs. Great tapas style menu. Good food and good service.

Probably my worst restaurant experience ever. One of the employees was unbelievably rude. It's cool if you have never been to a speakeasy type concept before but it is definitely style over substance

I totally agree with the reviews citing bad customer service. A lady who works here actually yelled at me very aggressively to 'get off this private property' when I held the door that she had just gone into to ask if it was open. The door was marked 'hot food' so it was an easy mistake to make and I... More
