AWESOME Tapas, and great place to see and be seen!

We loved everything about this place, the entrance of it didn't look like a restaurant which was unique We were 1/2 hour late but they have seated us with a great . It was crowded and lowed. And no space between tables. We went for brunch and ordered the beetroot salad, taco, chicken bites and burger. It was all fantastic... More

You enter this lounge/restaurant through the back of a store. The cocktails are fantastic, I especially love the Sapphire 75. The little tomato soup and grilled cheese bites are delicious! It's a bit loud, but it just adds to the excitement of the place. Also, be sure to take a trip to the ladies room, you'll get a nice surprise!

Went on a Saturday night, made to wait an hour for our table in the 'über cool' bar. Eventually seated next to massive tables of obnoxious diners (which made up most if the restaurant), all shouting loudly but not nearly as loud as the horrific cheesy Rihanna-style music that was blasted over the whole restaurant. Food was ok but overall... More

We only shared 1 small crab dish, which was very tasty, but I can't comment more on food as this is all we had, but other people's dishes looked very tasty. The drinks are very good, cocktails were lovely, if a little on the more expensive side. It's a comfortable place of you have seating and the atmosphere is exceptionally... More

Be it the food, music, crowd, ambiance or service; everything was excellent. It was my most favourite place in New York for dinner and drinks.

In my case I was totally surprised when arrived at the restaurant's address and saw an jewelry/antique shop! Thought I was at the wrong place... Thankfully someone opened a small door disguised in the main wall and I could see the restaurant actually worked in the back and the jewelry store was some sort of charming façade! Food is really... We had a late dinner at Beauty & Essex after a show. It was a bit of a trek to get there from Times Square, but it was worth the effort. The atmosphere is hip and vibrant. The food was top notch. There was a lot of selection on the menu and everything we had was excellent. The service was... More

Went for Sunday brunch. Had the fixed price $55. Small plates brought to the table one after the other. We could have been served by a robot-no interaction whatsoever. No one asked us if everything was okay or if we wanted anything else. Extremely noisy with very loud music. You had to shout to be heard. Clearly they just wanted... More

Staying in Lower East Side

Neighborhood Profile
Lower East Side
Straddling the bridge between New York’s thriving immigrant past and its modern transformation into a beacon of global art and culture, the Lower East Side is one of the most dynamic neighborhoods in the city. The blocks of tenements that represented the promise and blight of the Lower East Side immigrant experience now command top dollar for new residents. Right next to old-world delis, 24-hour bodegas, and the garment shops of Orchard Street, you’ll find hip clubs, fashionable bistros, and luxury hotels beckoning at all hours of the evening. If you love nightlife and live music, it’s hard to beat the scene here.
