My cousin and I came here for Sunday brunch a while back and it was absolutely phenomenal-- definitely one of the best brunches I've had in the lower east side. The restaurant doesn't look like much from the outside but once you come in, you'll find that it's actually a very upscale and trendy place with elegant chandeliers and velvet... More

WONDERFUL and could only have been done by someone who has done a big restaurant before..........apparently, these guys on TAO. It's gorgeous. Crowd is very mixed which means that 70 year olds can mix with 30 year olds and nobody seems to mind. Casual dress. Fabulous vibe.........and if you come as 4 people you can hear each other talking. We... More

My dinner experience was in the evening. The place is very very dim, could barely read the menu. Everything is very small portion and very high prices. I went with a group of ladies and the waiter immediately said we needed 10 plates of food for 7 people. All the dishes are essentially hors d'ouveres meant to provide 3-4 people... More

Great scene, with very average costly food. The maitre'd does you a favor to seat you. Wait staff was very helpful, while the bussers literally threw dishes at you between courses. The food was just ok, sometimes served lukewarm, and in our table's case, the chicken came out raw and went back. Their bone in ribeye at $55, was nothing... More

I picked this restaurant to celebrate a milestone birthday this 2014 with a few close friends. I picked it because the description of the old speakeasy style was appealing to me (old pawn shop in the front and behind the walls a beautiful restaurant!) I made my reservation in advance thankfully because upon arrival I over heard some people being... More

This place is extremely trendy but a great dinner spot for a date. I have been there a couple of times, and absolutely love their scallops, and shrimp tacos. Their seafood in general is amazing. I tend to order the smaller dishes that are for sharing, and not any of the entrees. The drinks are great as well. When you... More

My review is based on the fact that if I have to shout at my server then it's too loud in the restaurant. Mainly small plates menu, all very good. Thoughtful wine and cocktail list. Very high energy. Feels like a club. For some good and for some... Polite server (Samir) went out of his way to take good care... More

Going to Beauty & Essex is kind of like entering a very trendy night club. The interior is beautiful and the lighting dim, and it goes perfect with the atmosphere. The menu consists of smaller dishes, so it's ideal to share with someone. We were 2 people and we shared 4 dishes. The highlight of our meal was the Jaegermeister... More

It seems that this place is a trendy one for brunch. The entry from the street looks awful but when you enter, thinks changed massively as the ambiance and decoration are very good. The food was good which is not obvious in trendy places.
