My sister took us for our birthdays and it was great. We did have a long wait but didn't mind sitting at the bar to wait. Had the pizzetta and empanadas for appetizers. The pizzetta was amazing. Could have ate the whole thing by myself. I ordered the ribs and hubby the brick pressed chicken they were also excellent. Sister... More

Really busy, great vibe, ideal place to go with friends to start your night out. The food is served tapas style, which I love, as you can share. Everything we ordered was delicious and the service was very good. My only negative was the volume of the music. The music itself was great but my husband and I struggled to... More

went here with friends, wouldn't have known about it as it is a speak easy style place so you enter through a pawn shop. Cool setting and atmosphere, delicious food and wine and great service.

Best food we ate in our time in NYC. Thought it was very fairly priced too. Highly recommend the Lobster Tacos and the Mac and Cheese!

Loved this restaurant Great atmosphere, amazing food, extensive cocktail menu and attentive and professional service. We couldn't decide on a wine so asked the sommelier for a selection, her choice was perfect and well under the budget we gave her. definitely recommend booking

Went to beauty and Essex last night with my fiancé. Really enjoyed the food and the atmosphere. The same cannot be said for the service. Still a little shocked about how I was treated. Our server blatantly ignored me every time she came to the table and only spoke or paid attention to my fiancé. It sad pathetic and really... More

We went to this restaurant for a friends 50 th birthday. It was certainly memorable with entrance through a small shop. The decor is certainly memorable too. The staff were extremely attentive and service excellent. We went with the staff recommendations for some tastings. The dumplings and kale salad were a highlight. The serving portions are not large but adequate.... More

Staying in Lower East Side

Neighborhood Profile
Lower East Side
Straddling the bridge between New York’s thriving immigrant past and its modern transformation into a beacon of global art and culture, the Lower East Side is one of the most dynamic neighborhoods in the city. The blocks of tenements that represented the promise and blight of the Lower East Side immigrant experience now command top dollar for new residents. Right next to old-world delis, 24-hour bodegas, and the garment shops of Orchard Street, you’ll find hip clubs, fashionable bistros, and luxury hotels beckoning at all hours of the evening. If you love nightlife and live music, it’s hard to beat the scene here.
