We were walking by NYU and had an ice-cream craving. We were only visiting so we didn't know where to go and saw a bunch of people in line at Amorino, it looked like THE place for gelato. And we were NOT disappointed!! We ordered crepes with gelato I asked for a double chocolate (or something similar)... unbelievable! It was... More

After leaving several busy venues behind on University Place, we found the perfect setting at Amorino. The environment is appealing, quiet, and unhurried. Pleasant and engaging staff. Our Café Latte was superb, yet the Coconut Hot Chocolate a supreme treat! The Hot Chocolate, served with fresh whipped cream, was so thick I ate it with a spoon like a hot... More

We discovered Amorino in France, only to find it all over Europe. It was a big surprise when they opened shop in NYC a few years ago. This is a very solid gelato place, and I think they have the best mango ice cream. Other flavors are also very good.

We visited the location on University three times. Friendly, nice walk from Union Square, great place to hang out. And the gelato is excellent.

Struggling through a bitter cold day in January, we found a true gem. I ordered a white hot chocolate that was like heaven in a cup. It was so thick that it could set the bar for a cold weather drink. I wanted to go back later in the same afternoon if only it weren't too hedonistic.

Tried their gelato a couple of times. They have some good flavors and I love that there is no limit to the number of flavors you can get, but it is ridiculously expensive for gelato, especially that you can find better in the city. My favorite flavor their was the stracciatella.

Is it good, yes, it tastes good, the feeling is of a soft cream, and the colours are great. This said there is a long queue and the price is really high. The point is that it really feels too soft, the colours are too strong, and the bottom line is that there are a few places close by where... More

This is a frequent stop for us when in NYC, and has become a "must do." The opportunity to include five different flavors on a single cone is a unique treat. The quality is superb and the fact there is always a line speaks volumes. Highly recommended.

We had a bit of a job finding Amorino as we took a wrong turning and actually ended up in Greenwich village so had lunch there instead. - well after a couple more hours shopping we realised our error once back in Union Square and were glad we persisted as we trekked down university place. It's a little corner bakery/... More
