Stopped in on a whim as I was heading to another restaurant. Was recommed by desk staff at Hyatt Union Square which is just a few blocks away. The lunch prices were very reasonable for NYC. Had a burger, coke & a glass of wine all for $20. Sat near the open windows which was nice - got the feel... More

We were looking to kill some time, so we stopped in the Penny Farthing for a drink. Our waitress was extremely nice and quick to bring what we asked. Prices were fine for New York.

Dropped in here whilst doing a walkabout in East Village and was not disappointed. Food was good value and tasty with good beer selection...we liked it so much after a bit of shopping dropped in on the way back but with it being HH is was rather rammed so ended poping in next door which is owned by same people.... Great place for brunch. Not of the pretentious NY style of some the Brooklyn "fancy" brunch places. Staff friendly, food good and well priced. Can't go wrong here. I bet it is probably quite a cool bar in the eve, given the space. Good setting and recommended.

Nice quaint bar/restaurant. Have been here for lunch - portabello on banana bread was a combination I would not have thought of, but is great. Have noticed it gets busier at happy hour and early dinner time. Attentive and timely service - very friendly.

We stopped here on our way to Webster Hall for a quick drink. It is a quaint bar/restaurant, mostly a younger crowd, but the drinks were strong and relatively cheap for the area. The bartender was also nice. I would go back to try the food sometime!

We went here for dinner on a Monday night as it was just around the corner from our apartment. We managed to grab a table outside for the five of us so we could watch the world go buy. Managed to get there before the end of happy hour, which was half price drinks, great value. Rib sandwich, penny burger,... More

The wall of noise that hits you when you enter on a Friday night might make you think about looking for somewhere else. DON"T! Penny Farthing is worth it. Ask to be seated in the back where the noise is lower and you can hear the others in your party. The menu is not extensive, but the food was really... More
