Good Food, Quiet Respite from Broadway

We've gone this place a few time in between Broadway shows with a restaurant.com certificate and we've had a great time every time. They've always got a good special going on during the week and a brunch special on the weekends. The service is always nice and the food is a good value. They serve a... read more

This restaurant is a great option for dining in the Time Square area. Our hostess and server could not have been nicer. There were several prix fixe selections on the menu (appetizers and wine, too) and there are beverage specials at the bar and at the table. Every time I've been here, the restaurant has been quiet enough to have... More

Good Onion Soup. Excellent cheese on top. Not too many onions or bread. Not greasy! Quiet & pleasant. Just getting together at 4 PM but drinks were made @ Happy Hour prices. House Vodka not bad. Enjoyed a small very dry martini. Many good wines $5.00 PP. Food overall good and close to theaters. Very friendly staff. Wait staff is... More

It looks like the restaurant is in a cost-cutting mode...there was only one waitress looking after the whole restaurant. We ordered the unlimited drinks option for the brunch and it took her 30 minutes to bring the first glass! Maybe a trick not to give too many drinks?? We ordered some tapas to start with and instead of coming first,... More

This is my go to restaurant when ever I want a steak and frites. It's always so much fun an awesome restuarant to go share a meal with friends. The owners are the best and so is the staff. The things I really love about the place is the food is consistently good and the staff is aways pleasant. What... More

NYC's Hell's Kitchen neighborhood has come a long way from the days it was a place from which you'd most likely stay away. It's now a crowd pleaser, teeming with restaurants, many of which cater to the city's many tourists. My wife and I are NYC natives now living in New Jersey, and we know something about restaurants. The first... More

This is like my third review of La Carafe. My wife and I have always enjoyed eating here. We arrived after a Saturday matinee to an empty restaurant and left when it was full. They still have a steak, salad, fries and a glass of wine for $21. My only complaint in all my reviews here has been is that... More

What can I say...some times you find a gem.... Service was amazing..just stopped for some drinks and a cheese plate - wine was very reasonably priced at 15$ for house bottle...and massive cheese plate with fantastic variety from all over the world was 10-12$. Bartender (who I think was the owner) was extremely friendly and very hospitable. If I had... More

I took a gamble for a late lunch and was pleasantly surprised. Nice selection of wines by the glass. Poulet paillard avec champignons was the perfect lunch. Cooked perfectly and fresh mushrooms were delicious. Cappucino to finish lunch was perfect. Waiter disappeared a bit, but he was delightful. I'll be back.

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
