A Perfect Meal Before the Theater

We traveled to NYC for my husband's birthday and enjoyed our meal at this small but well equipted bistro. Our meals were from the pre fix menu and were reasonably priced. The meals were good sized portions and the price was great for the city. The French onion soup was awesome, complete with... read more

Close to our hotel this little place caught us by suprise. The food was so tasty and much more reasonably priced than other places we had tried. Service was very good.

We came for dinner, not realizing that the place is predominantly a wine bar. The on-line menu (it is also on restaurant.com) sounded very interesting. The dishes, however, are average in quality and a little low on quantity. Almost everything comes with some green salad on the plate. That is nice, but salad is not an acceptable substitute for small... More

we walked up and down 9th avenue looking for a place to eat on our first night. La Carafe had a board outside offing a steak and beer for $18 I think?. We chatted with the manager who was really pleasant and accomodating. We were tired after our journey so didnt want any fuss etc. We were seated at a... More

Stumbled across this place whilst looking for a decent steakhouse. Enticed in by the lovely (mature) lady outside and, too be honest, not bad little place. Now in the city of a thousand restaurants, probably would not rush back, but we enjoyed ourselves. Its a bit dark, not the cleanest looking place and the waiting staff were lovely, but very... More

We came here to have brunch before seeing a matinee Broadway show and we were so impressed with the food! My mushroom omelette is one if the best I've ever had - simple and perfectly prepared! Also enjoyed the bottomless mimosa deal. The kids enjoyed a burger for one and pancakes for the other. Great little bistro bear Broadway!

Limited menu, but everything we ordered was great. We started with small plates, and moved onto entrees. They have french/mediterranean dinners that include a glass of wine. We took our time here, as we didn't have theater commitments.

This restaurant is a great option for dining in the Time Square area. Our hostess and server could not have been nicer. There were several prix fixe selections on the menu (appetizers and wine, too) and there are beverage specials at the bar and at the table. Every time I've been here, the restaurant has been quiet enough to have... More

Good Onion Soup. Excellent cheese on top. Not too many onions or bread. Not greasy! Quiet & pleasant. Just getting together at 4 PM but drinks were made @ Happy Hour prices. House Vodka not bad. Enjoyed a small very dry martini. Many good wines $5.00 PP. Food overall good and close to theaters. Very friendly staff. Wait staff is... More

It looks like the restaurant is in a cost-cutting mode...there was only one waitress looking after the whole restaurant. We ordered the unlimited drinks option for the brunch and it took her 30 minutes to bring the first glass! Maybe a trick not to give too many drinks?? We ordered some tapas to start with and instead of coming first,... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
