Good but nothing special

I think the name is more notable than the food. Stood in line for 30 minutes - room was crowded, people everywhere - don't forget to pull a number when you come in. Lot's of nice choices. We tried a cream puff but two bites and it was gone - for the price it was a bit small. Also tried... read more

You must stop by to try the amazing carrot cake!!! Cake heaven!!!! The setup is great to place your order. You get a ticket like you at the highway department and when they call your number you place your order and it is wrapped in a very cute box.

Me and friends wanted a snack and some coffee and just happened to pass by Carlo's Bake Shop. I was surprised by there strawberry cheesecake. I was so blown away that I had to go again a couple of days after just for that cheesecake.

Overrated, overpriced and not worth the wait. Extremely disappointed UK customer. Would not recommend and will not bother visiting next time I am in New York. Tried lobster tail/cannoli ; bland, bland, bland. Have obviously been spoilt with the to die for cakes back home!!!

This place was a block from our hotel so when we wanted dessert we thought we would try it on Sunday night and when that didn't work out we did it Monday night. Both nights it was packed and the numbers counted down so slowly I wondered if the machine worked. It was filled with people who stood on top... More

Based on the lines outside, the TV show and all the related marketing, we walked there expecting to be amazed by Buddy's pastries but I was not impressed!!! There was no line ( around 3 pm) Cannoli were average, cheesecakes were just ok and chocolate mousse cake was fine.... Nothing that blew my mind... PS sorry to all the hardcore... More

Popped into this shop while in NYC after enjoying the TV programme. The cakes were good, but not exceptional, and the shop was bright and airy inside. However, the customer service was appalling, a complete shambles. There were four staff behind the counter and they ambled around serving customers as slowly as possible. You took a ticket on entry and... More

My daughter wanted to go here (and so did every other family in NYC). The "Take a number" system they have is useless. Once you get in, everyone (easily 100 people) is squashed up against the counter looking at the desserts. You can't get an idea of what you want until your number is called, then you have to push... It is worth stopping in to get a few pictures if your a Cake Boss fan. They have a number system for customers. We had 146 customers in ahead of us when we went. We waited about 20 minutes and took a few pictures. We ended up leaving before they called our number because the wait just didn't seem worth... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
