Large food market for NYC

It had everything you would need. A great range of produce and foods. Found everything really easy and the checkout line moved quickly.

This Whole Foods Market is a great place to either choose from multitudes of selections on the 'bar' (which range from healthy choices such as veggie salads of every kind, to earthy noodle concoctions, fruit salads, bulghar wheat salads and the like) or select something delicious from the grocery area. You may take your food to the second floor which... More

Yesterday 11/07/14 I bought ingredients for a shrimp stew I was making for dinner. I prepared my stew and when at the end I added the shrimp I started to perceive a strong, fishy smell. Since shrimp smells I did not think anything was wrong. I tried the shrimp to see if it was ready. The shells were slimy and... More

Simply brilliant, absolutely huge with more choice than you could wish for. Clam chowder soup for under $4 brilliant value for money and fresh baked pizza was delicious. Could not get enough of whole foods whilst in NYC.

The Union Square Whole Foods Market is as good as any and better than most. In typical Whole Foods fashion, the Union Square market delivers all of the fresh, prepared, and specialty foods you have come to expect from a Whole Foods Market. However, the store seems a bit more stressful and less relaxed to me -- probably due to... More

We have a Whole Foods store in Oklahoma and it's a very nice store. The NYC store was packed with people. I almost put my groceries down and left when I saw the lines; however, they have it completely organized by color and register number that the lines move so quickly it's ridiculous! Other than the prices (being in NYC),... More

Whole Foods is like no other supermarket in the NY area. The thrust of this enterprise is to provide organic foods and products, that are healthier for your body and the environment. That said, much of their merchandise and foods can be on the expensive side, except for the store brand, known as 365. The Whole Foods that I frequent... More

Whole Foods is known for being an expensive place to go groceries shopping, however if you are in that part of town and want to indulge in healthy snaks they do have the BEST chocolate brownies ever made.

We had dinner here several times, while being in NYC. I adore English soup and all the rest soups which they have! There is wonderful bakery and confectionery with cookies and cakes. Do not be afraid of the crowd. Lines in front of the cashes are well organized, we have never spent there more than 4-5 minutes even in the... More

Neighborhood Profile
Greenwich Village
Commonly known as “the Village” to New Yorkers, it was here in Greenwich Village that both 1960’s counter culture and the LGBT movement were born. Famous for its bohemian past, head to Washington Square Park to get a feel for this diverse and energetic neighborhood. You’ll find NYU students, street performers, skateboarders, kids frolicking in the fountain, and locals relaxing and playing chess. Stroll the streets to discover a mix of majestic town homes and hidden bars and restaurants that give this neighborhood an old-school residential feel. When the sun goes down, check out one of the famous jazz or comedy clubs that still packs them in every night.
