We were afraid that this restaurant would be a tourist trap but were very surprised. The service is very good and the food delicious. Highly recommended!

We dropped in for a visit to Little Italy today and we chose Sophia's as it looked authentic and the man out the front was lovely and wasn't loud, boisterous and pushy like the one close by and a couple of others.. What a find! The food was delicious and the service was awesome.. We'll definitely go back whilst we're... More

Nice setting the service was good and our food was ok but lacking true Italian taste. We were very hungry and were attracted here by a welcoming waitor. We sat outside which was nice. My partner had veal parmi which was ok and I had a pizza which was fairly bland.

Were there on Sunday of Memorial weekend. Menus looked good. Once seated and orders placed, appetizers took awhile to get there, server was inattentive, when main courses arrived - 3 out of 4 dishes were cold. Very disappointing experience.

We chose to eat at Sofia's because of decent online reviews but were thoroughly disappointed by the poor service and lack of seasoning on the food. Our waiter was terrible - we could not get water at the table and although he told us we could split the ticket (we asked before ordering) he would not accommodate at the end... More

On the outside of the restaurant they had a blackboard with a list of Lunch specials. That attracted my eye so we were seated and given regular menu's and not the lunch special list. I had to ask for that menu. So when we came to order the Lasagna (which was both written down on the blackboard outside and also... More

Chose this after walking past a dozen or so restaurants. Maître D' didn't hover around the sidewalk menu like at other restaurant, which was nice. Food was amazing with generous portions.

Staying in Little Italy

Neighborhood Profile
Little Italy
While Little Italy is one of the city's smallest neighbourhoods, its streets are packed with visitors from around the globe, especially on summer weekends when the streets are closed to traffic. Stroll up Mulberry Street, the heart of Little Italy, for a dense mix of Italian restaurants with sidewalk tables, cafes, and old-school food shops. Don’t be surprised when the hosts beckon you to pay them a visit. Stop in for a coffee and a cannoli, or grab a streetside table to take in the scenery over a hearty Italian meal.
