We stopped here for dinner one late afternoon last week. We ordered some appetizers of olives and prosciutto with a pizza and pasta dish after. We also ordered 2 glasses of prosecco, the check came to around $80!! The food was mediocre at best, there was a tonne of olive oil on everything therefore all the food tasted very peppery.... More

We stopped at Sophia's in Little Italy because we wanted some good Italian food and the experience the area. The food was great. I had the lasagna, which was fabulous! Meatballs were really good too!

I went there the other day and ordered a pasta dish and a pizza. None of the dishes tasted of anything and the pasta wasnt cooked properly. When I mentioned it to the waiter, he couldnt care less. Later i found out why - they included 20% tip in the bill. Go somewhere else, there are lots of good places... More

Me and my husband were just looking for someplace to eat dessert. There were no desserts or prices on the menu and when we asked the man outside he was very vague with details. However, the restaurant looked nice and quaint and I loved the decor, so we thought we would give it a try. When we were seated inside... More

There were many choices on the menu. The food was very good with plenty of flavor. We tried Sofia's based on reviews and we were not disappointed. We actually went on a freezing cold night in February 2015 when very few people were out in the neighborhood. So, we were able to get in without any wait.

Had dinner with my daughter during a weekend trip to NYC. Ordered a simple Caesar salad with chicken, spaghetti with meatballs, water and appetizer. The bill was $50. Price not bad but service was slower than expected and food was blander than I like. I had to ask for water refills twice while the table next to me got refills... More

We experienced a wonderful experience with our server who gave excellent recommendations and also was able to accommodate special requests. I was interested in having pesto, rather than marinara, and I also wanted to add prosciutto to my classic ravioli - no problem! The homemade bread was absolutely delicious and the appetizers we ordered were also great - recommend the... More

I stopped here with my family of four for a Sunday lunch. I should have listened to my instincts and left when the waitress came over and acted bored and lazy to be there. We all ordered the same thing, chicken Parmesan that included only one choice of soup, minestrone. They should have opened up a can of soup instead... More

Staying in Little Italy

Neighborhood Profile
Little Italy
While Little Italy is one of the city's smallest neighbourhoods, its streets are packed with visitors from around the globe, especially on summer weekends when the streets are closed to traffic. Stroll up Mulberry Street, the heart of Little Italy, for a dense mix of Italian restaurants with sidewalk tables, cafes, and old-school food shops. Don’t be surprised when the hosts beckon you to pay them a visit. Stop in for a coffee and a cannoli, or grab a streetside table to take in the scenery over a hearty Italian meal.
