We were passing through Chelsea Market and saw a bunch of people eating whole lobster, so we asked where they got them from and were told about The Lobster Place. We didn't have time then but took a special trip down the next day to try their lauded lobster roll. It was, as reported, excellent (fresh, good bun) but small... More

Although this place is not for a fancy date or for celebrating an occasion, it is nothing short of fantastic. It is a fish market ! From the time you walk in it is just filled with people and movement. Entering, there is a fish bar with whole fish on ice right next to an oyster bar. The waiters are... More

The lobster here was fantastic! It was fresh and tasty and both my partner and myself really enjoyed it. We also had some of the chowder which was equally fantastic. We will definitely be returning here on our next trip to New York.

We sat down at the sushi counter and watched the chef prepare our food. My husband had the sashimi platter and I chose the lobster sushi. It was absolutely delicious. Never had tasted this combination and probably will have to return to this place to taste it again. The only disadvantage is that it is very crowded and you have... More

This was definitely one of our favourite stops in NYC. The food was delicious and very fresh. It was quite pricey but definitely worth it!

Love the fresh oysters, specifically the tiny and so delicious kusshi oysters. Sushi was very simple but fresh, what more do you need out of quality fish but freshness.

this is not the usual half-red-lobster place. It is a full experience of super top quality sea food for an amazingly convenient price, from basic sandwiches up to fine cuisine, each plate is a joy.

Just pushed away from the table after finishing an outstanding meal shared with family courtesy of the Lobster Place at Chelsea Market. They actually do a substantial retail business in fresh fish and seafood. Dinner at home tonight tonight included wonderfully smelling platters of pan seared jumbo scallops on black squid ink linguini in a clam sauce and jumbo shrimp... More

Had a 2lb lobster for $40 (inc. tax). Freshly boiled with a nice butter dip. We had this sitting at the benches ... kinda reminded me of the Sydney Fish Markets ... but cheaper! Great little oyster bar too. Was recommended the Wild Cat oysters. Freshly shucked and great tasting. Would have tried to sushi as well but was too... More

This is a fish market inside Chelsea Market. You have to walk through the crowds around two corners and you see it--full of fresh fish, sushi, raw and prepared. In the back there is a tiny counter where you can order lobster rolls and get soup. It was hands down the best lobster roll and New England clam chowder I... More
