This place is very original . Fast food lobster.... We found it by chance while walking in the Chlsea market. The fish exposition and the lobster satnd looked so clean and inviting that we decided to take the chance. It was actually fun standing next to tourists like us and chewing on steamed lobster claws and drinking pinot griggio. I... More

Really interesting place to visit, basically an enormous fish market where you can also eat. Relatively cheap, with an enormous selection of fish. We got a lobster and a seared tuna dish with noodles and they were both excellent. The only negative is finding somewhere to sit.

If in NY make sure you try the lobster sandwich here. They are really good! If I had more time in NY I would have returned and sampled the other options at this place as that have a lot to offer in terms of choice.

We seen this place while passing through Chelsea Market on a walking tour. We came back after the tour and had soup. I had the black bean, shrimp, and chorizo and hubby had the lobster bisque. They were both very good. Wish we would have found this place earlier in our trip as I would have loved to try the... More

Make sure to check your receipt before walking away or paying for your seafood purchase. I learned the hard way when they charged me double for the crab legs. Instead of $15/lb, I was charged $28/lb. Such crooks. Tiny and limited space to eat.

We were passing through Chelsea Market and saw a bunch of people eating whole lobster, so we asked where they got them from and were told about The Lobster Place. We didn't have time then but took a special trip down the next day to try their lauded lobster roll. It was, as reported, excellent (fresh, good bun) but small... More

Although this place is not for a fancy date or for celebrating an occasion, it is nothing short of fantastic. It is a fish market ! From the time you walk in it is just filled with people and movement. Entering, there is a fish bar with whole fish on ice right next to an oyster bar. The waiters are... More

The lobster here was fantastic! It was fresh and tasty and both my partner and myself really enjoyed it. We also had some of the chowder which was equally fantastic. We will definitely be returning here on our next trip to New York.

We sat down at the sushi counter and watched the chef prepare our food. My husband had the sashimi platter and I chose the lobster sushi. It was absolutely delicious. Never had tasted this combination and probably will have to return to this place to taste it again. The only disadvantage is that it is very crowded and you have... More

This was definitely one of our favourite stops in NYC. The food was delicious and very fresh. It was quite pricey but definitely worth it!
