I was in Chelsea market and upon passing the lobster place I decided to go in and get some new England clam chowder turned out it was really delicious and reasonably priced. I then walked through the place to check out what else they'had. I saw that they were selling a pound and a half lobster for $23.95 steamed with... More

We had a hard type choosing a restaurant in the Chelsea Market, but were glad we chose this one. The sushi was fresh. You can purchase pre-made portions (obviously made recently) or have it sliced up right then - from the mundane to the exotic (we saw someone eating a halved sea urchin). I had crab claws which too seemed... More

Every time my husband and I travel to NYC, we always visit the Chelsea Market. We love the neighborhood, the food, the atmosphere, but most importantly, we love The Lobster Place. Besides being such a quintessential seafood market, this friendly stop never disappoints. We always share a roll and fries, because it is so full of lobster that we can... More

Even if not in the Chelsea Market or area, whenever visiting NYC my husband and I make it a point to stop into the Lobster Place. The food is always so fresh. We especially love the lobster rolls, the lobster bisque, and clam chowder. They have a huge variety of fresh seafood choices and lots of friendly employees on hand... More

First, this is in Chelsea Market, and towards the far end of the entrance on 9th Avenue. The place is very busy and was still packed from the lunch crowd at 2 pm on a Monday. There are obviously a large number of tourists, but don't let that deter you. This is a first class fish small fish market. You... More

if you value oyster choice and quality above anything else, this is your place - price is also a nice surprise! Excellent selection - at least a dozen different oyster kinds while I visited. Short but clear description of each oyster on the tag, and competent, friendly staff to help you out. Ultra fast service - even at peak time... More

It is a mix of fishery and restaurant. This is a place to take photos and have a good meal. Before asking for something, take your time and go to the end of the shop and see how beautiful the lobsters, fishes, schrimps and shells are presented, and what the persons are eating. Pay attention on the soups side and... More

I loved this place - great variety of fish, lobster, shellfish, soups, chowders, fishcakes for all budgets. We had take out from there three times during our stay in Chelsea. It was clean. The food was super fresh and yum! The staff were friendly and business like. Best viewed as a food to go sort of experience - don't expect... More
