Definitely a must-visit place for gourmets! Democratic atmosphere, picturesque interiour, great prices. A 2-lb. loster for as little as US$40! Impressive choice of oysters ranging in price from US$1.50 to US$ 2.25. Wonderful NE clam chowder. And do not forget to walk around the rest of the Chelsea Market: Lucy's Whey shop has a great selection of exquisite cheeses, for... More

Living in landlocked Minnesota, it was simply amazing to see how fresh seafood can really be. It was so interesting to see all the different and unusual seafood on ice. It was tempting to try their different soups but there was no place to sit and eat due to the crowds. We ordered calamari, crab cake and Po boy oyster... More

Walk the high line from uptown all the way to the end, when you're done head here for lunch. $20 for lobster, can't complain. The clam chowder and oysters are also very good. The sushi however may not be the best and may be slightly expensive as well. You can sit anywhere in the restaurant even if you are not... More

We went there specially to try the notorious steamed lobster and this was a kind of been there/done that experience. The lobster tasted like a crab only larger. It was full of tourists, probably due to the affordable lobsters, next time I will go next where they were serving fresh sushi :)

Had read the reviews on the lobster roll. It was amazing. So was the price. I had a lobster roll in Long Island from a food truck so I wasn't expecting to pay so much from a take out place. The bread was amazing and there was so much lobster meat. Very good, but very small and pricy. I'd go... More

We had a lobster roll and NE clam chowder with smoked bacon. My wife says she never liked lobster. She does now! Very fresh and nicely seasoned (not too much so the taste of the fresh lobster stands out). The clam chowder was outstanding as well, among the best I have ever had. It is fun just to walk around... Just a bit weary from sight seeing and miles of Manhattan walking we decided to have a "night off" from restaurant eating and make a picnic for our hotel room. Had to have the lobster rolls , so reminiscent of happy holidays in Cape Cod, and they didn't disappoint. Picked up large box of salad and chilled bottle of wine... More

More of a take out fish market to me, but there are areas to eat in kind of a bar stool/table situation. We were experiencing the market and needed lunch, and The Lobster Place was spot on for that. Great selection for choosing, the chowders were incredibly good. Enjoy the hectic hubbub of the market!

ok food but unknowledgeable chefs. I asked for them to make me a salmon skin roll and they handed me a pre-made one from the refrigerator behind the counter. It was cold. No sushi is supposed to feel chilled. And sushi rice needs to be body temperature and not chilled at all. Salmon skin is served warm (to crisp the... More

We liked everything about this place! Great Sushi, great noodle salads. All chunk Lobster rolls with no filler, and the best New England Clam chowder I've had in years! No pork in the chowder was a huge plus. The counter help at the Shack as well as the regular check out was superb. The check out guy actually engaged me... More
