Great Food, Poor Service

Great Mexican food, terrible service........even though it was a relatively quiet Monday night. It took forever just to get drinks., guac and chips....although the guac was great when it arrived. Skirt steak entree was over the top. Will return despite the lousy service.

I went to this Dos Caminos location for brunch about a year ago and it was great so I decided to return for dinner with a friend. Hot night = margaritas so I thought this was the perfect choice but that wasn't the case. The organic margarita was not great (too tart, light on the tequila), the food, while described... More

While visiting the West Village we saw Dos Caminos always hopping so we decided try it out. Made reservations for 8:00pm on a Thursday night. Quite busy, to a high table close to the bar, the outside dining area was on a first come first serve basis. Started off with a Durango Margarita, spicy and very good. The tortillas with... More

Dos Caminos, does have a love it hate it rep' with the locals. We popped in for a real quick bite as we were hanging with jet lag. The place was heaving, but our waiter was quick and really chatty. The food was right on the money (compared to London). Really tasty with like other reviews guacamole to die for.... More

We came across Dos Caminos when in New York and had a drink in the bar. Reasonable wine prices. Lively atmosphere and very busy in the restaurant area so we returned the next night for dinner. We weren't disappointed. The food was amazing, guacamole especially. Margaritas were a bit strong for me however my friend loved it!

Went here for an early team dinner at the end of a day trip to our NY office. The food was good, but the stand-out for me was the fresh guacamole (which was a surprise, since I'm not normally a fan), which was served with some tasty chips. The service was good, though a little slower than we would've expected... More

Unfortunately my experience at this particular Dos Caminos restaurant was not a pleasant one for more than one reason...we were seated in a booth upstairs that had absolutely no light at all so we had to use our phones to read the menu, and see our food. Secondly, the food itself was really nothing to brag about, we ordered the... More

Good service. Appetizers and desserts were very good but fish tacos were average. Decent margaritas. Cool atmosphere

Has lunch at Dos Caminos during my visit to NYC while in the meat packing district. The chips with guacamole were delicious and the mahi mahi tacos I ordered were divine. Would definitely done there again!

I loved Dos Caminos. Sunday night, 10 pm, many restaurant were closed. Walking around Chelsea Market we choose this mexican place for the nice atmosphere. Low lights, not crowded, good music. We tasted different dishes, tacos, ceviche, guacamole, bocaditos de lobster, de chicken, with chorizo and fajitas. The food was well cooked and served. Not expensive. Good experience.

Staying in West Village

Neighborhood Profile
West Village
Stretching from Sixth Avenue to the Hudson River, the West Village is one of the city’s most coveted addresses. Full of trendy shops, historic taverns, and cozy restaurants set amid 19th century architecture, this neighborhood has a unique old-world feel. You won’t find a more picturesque location in Manhattan. Without the traditional city grid layout, it’s easy to get lost here, but that’s part of the fun as you stroll down elegant narrow streets with beautiful brownstones. When you need a break, you can always stop in at one of the many quaint eateries or cafes to soak in the atmosphere, or head to the western edge of the neighborhood to enjoy magnificent waterfront views while taking a leisurely walk in Hudson River Park.
