Upscale Mexican restaurant with the atmosphere of a bar, fun, loud, good food

This restaurant chain is high end Mexican with a great wine and tequila list. It is very loud which adds to the atmosphere and makes conversation a challenge but possible. The one in the Meatpacking district is large with two floors. Both have atmosphere so either is good. It is a great place to... read more

A friend invited me out for drinks last Thursday and she'd heard great things about this place from her co-workers. After a rough day of negotiations we decided to chill out in a cool NYC neighborhood aptly named "Meatpacking" district ; ) heh heh The waiter was an attractive, courteous professional who took our drinks order he recommended the citrusy... Had a great meal here last week, sat on a high table near the bar and were served by a great waiter, who was very knowledgable about ingredients and cocktails. Good price point, good food, would certainly go back when we return to NY.

This place was very fun! The menu was not your typical Mexican fare. I would highly recommend the goat or the pork.

Loved our meal here, the staff was attentive and relaxed. The room has a wonderful ambiance, soft lighting, reasonable sound level, perfect for a romantic dinner for two and larger groups. Our food was well presented, hot, ample and most importantly, delicious. We'll definitely be returning.

Delish guac and drinks, and a great scene to keep you entertained. Also a great way to get a tast of what Meatpacking has to offer without dealing with lines and bouncers!

We ate a better Mexican dinner for half the price the next day in Bleecker Street. This place was slow to serve, the fod was bland and the prices were over inflated. We capped off the night with a walk through the nearby Conrad Hilton Hotel. Ahh. That's how this place makes its money.

Dos Caminos offers a great brunch and had absolutely the best Bloody Mary. The price is right and the ambiance really good; we dined on the 2nd floor. This is my second visit to this restaurant and I would not hesitate to go back.

We were staying in Greenwich village and heard about this fantastic Mexican restaurant ,we were not disopointed.Thefood and service was very good with great Mexican beer and wine and the staff were brilliant. The restaurant seemed to be family friendly with a good mix of age groups and not expensive, not to be missed.

Sorry, I can't imagine which Mexican food other reviewers have had in New York if they thought this was the best. Though limited, from the descriptions of the dishes and the price tags, the menu promised more than it delivered. We thought it was okay, no more than that, and certainly not worth what we paid.

Neighborhood Profile
West Village
Stretching from Sixth Avenue to the Hudson River, the West Village is one of the city’s most coveted addresses. Full of trendy shops, historic taverns, and cozy restaurants set amid 19th century architecture, this neighborhood has a unique old-world feel. You won’t find a more picturesque location in Manhattan. Without the traditional city grid layout, it’s easy to get lost here, but that’s part of the fun as you stroll down elegant narrow streets with beautiful brownstones. When you need a break, you can always stop in at one of the many quaint eateries or cafes to soak in the atmosphere, or head to the western edge of the neighborhood to enjoy magnificent waterfront views while taking a leisurely walk in Hudson River Park.
