Extremely rude bartender

The place was packed and we wanted to order to go. We were told to order at the bar which was busy. While trying to let the bartender know that we wanted to order to go, Patrick the bartender literally said 'you guys are like following me around'. Well, a simple, 'yes I see you and will get to... read more

We really looked forward to coming here after so many great reviews. We left totally baffled and disappointed - and feeling like we'd eaten at the Olive Garden of soul food. The 'dirty rice' tasted like rice a roni out of a packet; there was no discernible vegetable, seasoning, or liver in it. Everything arrived lukewarm at best, served on... More

Like most other reviewers we made reservations and were glad we did! We were warmly welcomed by the hostess, but our waiter definitely lacked any sense of energy relative to our overall experience. The food was good - the cornbread was excellent as were the deviled eggs. The pork was excellent but my husband had the pepper steak and it... More

We have been wanting to try Red Rooster for some time. It was different instead than I expected. The bar area was the same size as the dining room area. This made the dining room cramped. Bathrooms were cool with all different photos. The food was good - all different spins on classic meals. Desserts were real good! Definitely don't... More

Red Rooster – Huge fans of Marcus and Tristan so we jumped on the 2 to check out Red Rooster. Great atmosphere and the hostess was really nice. Once seated (Saturday lunch, no reservation, no problem) our waiter was awesome. He was super friendly and provided outstanding service. We had the mac & Greens and the Waffle & Chicken. Both... Great evening! After I had managed to make a mess of my reservation, they still managed to get us a table for 8 people on a Saturday afternoon (around 5pm). Good food, fabulous drinks, great service. After dinner we sat at the bar and had a few drinks and the bartenders started, what can only be described as a dance... More

Came here for my husband's birthday just the other night. Place was packed, luckily we made reservations, which I highly recommend. I am not a fan of close knit tables, often times in NYC I feel like I am dining with our fellow neighbors, however, even though tables are close in this venue the background music was just enough to... We went for lunch on a Saturday just before 12:30pm. Reservations are not accepted for weekend brunches. We thought it might be crazy packed but it was just before the rush. We waited for around 15 mins at the roomy bar area and then were seated. When we left (around 1:30, the line and bar got considerable more crowded, though... More

Came in for the first time after hearing for so long about this place. I was surprised at how quickly I was able to get a table for 3 people on a Sunday morning based on the restaurant's reputation but we were quickly seated. The restaurant has a great decor with live music band in the corner. The music was... More

We went there on a Wednesday night. The place was packed with a very cool looking crowd. Excellent lounge music dj and a great bar scene. Service was welcoming, friendly and very professional. The modern version of soul food delicious. Definitely an uplifting evening and a place to come back to.
