BLANK a DOODLE DOO

The RED ROOSTER may well epitomize the new HARLEM scene completely. Hip, chic, very accessible, pleasant and increasingly diversified. Had been impressed by Marcus Samuelsson on various TV chef shows and decided to try his place. It was well worth it as above. Seated pleasantly/promptly at... read more

the food was amazing, the entertainment was high energy and at times so well done it was a bit emotional. The singers are really great. Not to be missed from any NYC break

This is the kind of place that Yogi Berra was referring to when he said, "No one goes there since since it got so popular." Once a known only to Harlem-ites it is now over-run by tourists (like me). Still, to my eye it is redolent with authenticity. The place vibrates with the sound of music played by the DJ.... More

Had been impressed by Marcus Samuelsson on various TV chef shows and decided to try his place. It was well worth it as above. Seated pleasantly/promptly at a table in "midst" of restaurant, as requested, we enjoyed the "happening" vibe. The... More

Had the tasting menu to celebrate Black History month, Yummmm! Lots of dishes and bigger than usual for a tasting menu. We could barely finished. The cocktails also are very good.

We went for dinner on Tuesday night. The bar was mobbed, the noise level was energetic (some would call it very loud). I had to maneuver to find an opening to order our drinks ($14 old fashioned, delicious). Having a few minutes until our reservation, we sat in a little alcove. We sat in the middle of the dining area,... More

The Food was delicious, served buffet style. Lots of choices, but the waffles and fried chicken were outstanding. After everyone had plenty to eat, the entertainment began. An energetic, soulful gospel choir made up of teens, that really impressed us. I am looking forward to going again, and bringing my kids this time!

As soon as you get in you will immerse in a unique atmosphere. The live music and intense ambience are really quite something. Food is homey and good. Service is a little all over the place but it really not a big deal given the fantastic experience.

The food and service was excellent. One of the specialties is the fried chicken and it did not disappoint. The shrimp and grits was our other entree...also a good choice. Great comfort food.

Having resigned ourselves to the reality that Red Rooster now exists for the tourists, we returned after a long hiatus and were quite pleased with the food and service. The fried catfish and leg of lamb were delicious, and the duck liver macaroons were creative. (I don't recommend the dessert macaroons because the texture is all wrong--they are very heavy... More

Always feels like a special occasion, but in a casual way. The food is superb, the service is superb. The chef is on hand to greet patrons, schmooze, take photos. This time, he sent champagne to our table upon hearing it was my birthday. This is my favorite restaurant in NYC. I loved the catfish, the cauliflower salad, the amazing... More
