Totally exceeded my expectations. Food is prepared with care and people and staff are stunning! Had the classics like mac & cheese, yardbird and pork chops, loved all and will definitely go back if we can get a reservation.

Marcus Samuelsson's Harlem restaurant exudes a vibrant vibe. A real cross section of New Yorker's make this intersection of soul, nordic and Samuelsson food a must visit. The take on Bouillabaisse for two was flavorful packed with delicious variety of shellfish and the other usual accompaniments. The broth outstanding. The blackened cat fish and fried "Yardbird" delicious as well. A definite... More

I had the French toast and a friend had jerk pork. We both loved the food. We also had mimosas. I would definitely return for dinner.

So most wouldn't think of eating in Harlem - well not till recently anyways - and what a great place. We walked from Grant's Tomb through Harlem to the Red Rooster. The streets were lively, all different types of people mixing together, unique stores along the way. A friend had this on her radar after seeing the owner on TV.... More

The Red Rooster restaurant in Harlem is appreciated for bringing "upscale" to the neighborhood. I think maybe for me it was a timing situation whereas I was hungry and unfamiliar with the eatery so I was a little disappointed. My wife and i attended on the recommendation of her NY nephew when I suggested seafood in Harlem. Mango shrimp appetizer;... More

My wife and I had lunch here, and we were hoping it would meet our expectations, as we were excited to be going to Marcus Samuelsson's restaurant. It did not disappoint! The salad with the grilled peaches was by far the best salad I have ever had. My wife's tomato soup and both of our entrees were not only delicious,... More

The place was hopping - reservations are a must. The food was unique (chicken waffles, lamb curry tostadas, jerk pork chop, or sweet potato filled beignets anyone?) and delicious. We were there on a Saturday, so there was live music that was outstanding. People were standing on the sidewalk just for a chance to hear the music. We were one... More

We went out of our way to find this place, and were glad we did. Very good service, high quality meals, and an atmosphere that was fun and relaxed. Locals told us that next time, we should try to get a reservation on a Friday or Saturday night when it gets kicking with an even more lively environment. Quite a... More

I'm not sure where these people with low ratings were eating but.... this was the best experience one could have at any restaurant! The menu was divine, everything made sense and was delicious! Reasonably priced! Food was excellent, service was excellent, clean, fun atmosphere, received our food at appropriate times (entrée wasn't fired until apps were done), hot, fresh, we... More

Red Rooster is a cool looking restaurant with a good vibe and very a friendly, well-trained staff. The food I had was delicious even if it was pretty heavy. Two people could easily split the "fried yard bird."
