This is a lively place! Loved the atmosphere, loved the food, and loved the live music. The cornbread was so good, and after eating my way through delicious Coconut Grilled Chicken I almost had to give up, but found space for the cutest little donuts. We had reservations, which I will recommend.

Vibrant, dynamic, crowded and welcoming, with excellent service - this place has an exciting menu and the food is tasty. We were visitors in NYC and this was certainly our favourite place. Great on a trip to Harlem, not to be missed.

A very eclectic place in the heart of Harlem. We were staying in midtown just south of Central Park, so this was a real experience - a chance to see a totally different side of New York. We ordered a selection of dishes including yard bird, catfish and octopus. The cocktails are fantastic too!!!

Small in size but big in food flavors and music, Red Rooster is a delight on so many levels: excellent Southern fare with a twist, cozy, intimate dining area, incredible jazz. The atsmosphere is warm, inviting, relaxing. Worth the trip to Harlem!

Our friends has recommended we go to Harlem for the choir and Red Rooster. It was worth the walk all the way North of the island. We saw so many different parts of the town and stopped at cafes along the West side. This is a must when in NYC. Not fancy but good and local.

We (me and 4 friends, one from out of town) ate downstairs at Ginny's Supper Club a few days ago. The food was good - great, even - but the service was atrocious. We were left waiting for long periods of time; we were never offered cheaper alternatives for drinks (i.e. offering a bottle instead of overpriced drinks); we were... More

We were roaming around Harlem looking for a breakfast place, when we spotted The Red Rooster. We have a chain of chicken shops in Australia with the same name and as we are not fans were a bit reluctant to try. At 10.30 am the front outside area was packed as was the first inside eating area, however the rear... More

I had really high expectations based on a few friends' reviews, which could have made for disappointment, but it really lived up to the mark. The food was amazing, so much so that I kept eating despite being full, even went for the devil cake. The staff were really nice and helpful. Beer selection was quite good too!
