Great experience

I went there on a Wednesday evening thinking it might be a quiet relaxed dining experience. Not!! The place was buzzing for the 3 hours I spent there. What a lively and exhilarating atmosphere. Let me start by saying we love this place. We love NYC and we love Harlem-both have been long term city dwellers, now living outside the city. We have been a few times t Red Rooster and I used to frequent Acquavit years ago. At Red Rooster...we have had consistently delicious food, and great service. Yesterday was the first Spring... More

When I was kid driving in the car to mid-town thought Harlem, my Dad would have us make sure out doors were locked. No more. We heard about the red Rooster and their unusual fare and success and we were not disappointed. Don't expect Harlem prices, though, it was pricey.

I am always open for a foodie experience and I got it while visiting Harlem. The expectations were exceeded. This is coming from someone who grew up on and can cook just about any soul food that she likes. So the dilemma was what can I get ? Chicken and waffles? I can get that at several spots in my... I have been at the Red Rooster twice -- both times to grab dinner before a concert. On both visits, our parties had a good time. The Red Rooster is a buzzing scene, full of energy, stylish folks having a good time and enjoying themselves. The servers and hostesses are friendly, if firm about not seating you until your whole... I have always been a fan of Marcus Samuelsson, so was anxious to try his Harlem restaurant. It's easy to get to on the subway. Service was prompt and efficient, although not overly friendly. I had Helga's meatballs -- a little touch of Sweden. They were delicious. I'd recommend a salad as a first course, as there are no vegetables... More

We came for an early dinner but without reservations and were still quickly seated up front, amid the hustle and bustle of this busy place. The flavors of food were unique and very delicious and although the portions looked small, we could barely finish as our taste buds were so satiated! Unfortunately the chile lime peanuts and the wine recommended... More

I had been to the Red Rooster last summer and enjoyed the pleasure of outdoor dining so when it came time to celebrate family birthdays, my sister, niece and I came here. How delightful! The menu, while somewhat limited especially given that there are no nightly specials, is nevertheless sufficiently interesting and the food well prepared. The cocktail menu and... More

We decided to brave Harlem and visit the Red Rooster, as recommended. Walked the streets of Harlem and loved the buzz. Jazz brilliant, dinner fun - all in all, an experience we would repeat. Highly recommended for an out of the ordinary experience in NYC.
