A lively buzzing atmosphere with very good attentive service. Maybe the style of food was not too my liking but overall found the food ok.
DO NOT plan any special events at this venue. The Special Events Dept is non existent. What ever empty promises and appointments are made will never happen. There is absolutely no follow up what so ever. Imagine trying to plan a huge event and leaving countless of voice messages, texts and emails, even to the manager of The Red Rooster,... More
Ate here on the first weekend of September with my wife and some friends. My wife's food had a piece of plastic in it in which they apologized profusely and then comped the meal and desserts. This was very high quality of service and they were really great about this. We asked for a doggy bag for one of the... More
The Red Rooster has become not just a Harlem tradition, but a dining tradition for those lovers of "comfort food" and upbeat vibe. Scoring a reservation is best done midweek and that isn't easy, but once you're in, you're in for a treat. There's a maze of tables after the bar area and lots of happy people talking, laughing, eating... More
At the heart of Harlem, an upscale take on comfort food (with Swedish touches thrown in). Pleasant seating outside to take in the stylish, multi-racial scene. The deviled eggs were creamy and luscious. The signature dish, Fried Yardbird, tasted a lot better than it sounded -- crispy chicken with mashed potatoes and fixins'. A varied wine list, available by the... More
I took my family to the Marcus Samuelsson restaurant over the weekend. It was everything I look for in someplace to eat. The wait staff was awesome...every detail of our visit was taken care of. The food was outstanding, we ate from the brunch menu but delicious. I had the yard bird with greens and mash. My kids had burgers... More
My high expectations of a Chef Samuellson restaurant were satisfied at this friendly and inviting location convenient to Harlem sights and on the 125th Strip. Staff were professional and genuine, the food was comfort/soul with lots of flavors. We were there on a Tuesday evening late (dinner reservation at 10p) and the joint was jumping. The in-house band (Cuban-Jazz) were... More
Have visited this restaurant a few times already. The food is just as good as it has been in the past. But what was really amazing, was that when I was there at the end of July, the waitress remembered me.(A positive thing) A very welcoming feeling considering that quite a few customers visit this restaurant.
We came for a business dinner at an early seating (6:30) and by the time we left at 9 it was packed and roaring! Glad we went early as the live music and buzz made for difficult conversation but was great to take in the evolution from cozy and intimate to raucous and packed!! The crowd is eclectic and no... had the shrimp and grits-not tasty and grits not creamy or seasoned, some had the fried yard bird and no real taste-the menu has potential but maybe the kitchen was having an off day
