Outstanding Dishes. Inviting Space. Adequate Service.

A great discovery! We enjoyed our mid-day lunch with a mix of items offered via the Prix Fixe option: meatballs, salmon, lobster mac & cheese, accompanied by outstanding gazpacho, watermelon/tomato salads, and very tasty cornbread. Dessert was the sugary/sweet house doughnuts. The room is... read more

A few friends and I recently visited Red Rooster for a fund raising event and happened to discover the best thing on earth. It was a super moist Red Velvet Cake Jar with a delicious White Chocolate Cream Cheese icing which I was told were all made from scratch! Not only was it friendly to my taste buds, it was... More

We celebrated easter at Red Rooster and ordered the fried backyard bird. It really made my tastebuds recall grandmas cooking from when I we're young.

Go for the music in the baseman not for the food or drinks, over priced. On the other hand you can hear some of hte best performers of the day in the baseman. Get there early to gain a sit otherwise you could be standing for a while.

The service could have been a little better but the food was good. We enjoyed the Mac & Greens with Lobster added. The corn bread could have been warm and the blueberry and peach cobbler is definitely worth ordering.

We recently went there and it was good, not great. The food was good, but it was pricey and while we were there the air conditioning wasn't working, which didn't help.

We were so excited about going to Red Rooster because we are big Food Network fans. Marcus Samuelson is the owner, and he is often a judge on "Chopped" on Food Network. So we were expecting a restaurant with tasty, imaginative cuisine. We were disappointed. First off, the place is VERY VERY noisy. When we were there, a band was... More

Visited Red Rooster for lunch during our stay in NYC. Walked in and Marcus Samuelsson was seated right at the bar, talking to someone you've seen on TV but can't remember where. I take it as a good sign that the owner eats at his own restaurant. We tried not to gush too much as we waited for a table.... More

Red Rooster is always super crowded. I suppose because Marcus Samuelsson owns it and it has a certain cachet. My daughter and I went there for drinks and an appetizer. I don't know if they take reservations, but it was difficult to get a seat inside. We had margaritas which were good. The appetizer was shrimp with dirty rice. It... More

Went to Red Rooster with my boyfriend and a former NYCer visiting. We arrived early but they accommodated us, so that was great. The cornbread is amazing and has a little kick. The appetizer plates were a decent size and a great option for an entrée if you are not super hungry or do not consume large amounts. We had... More
