The Statler Grill harkens back to the golden age of the big band era, and is named after Ellsworth Statler, who ran the Hotel Pennsylvania from 1919 to 1954, when musicians such as Tommy Dorsey, Count Basie and Glenn Miller played at the Cafe Rouge, the hotel's main dining room. The Statler serves classic New York steakhouse prime steaks and chops as well as daily delivered fresh seafood, while the bar and lounge serve a delicious grill menu. Located just steps away from Pennsylvania Station and Madison Square Garden, it is the perfect place to have a breakfast meeting, a meal before an event at the Garden, or just to relax with friends and co-workers during happy hour before you hop on the train. It is all about the food and service says owner Joseph Lavelle. "I want my guests to enjoy themselves, have a great meal and return again and again".

Delicious. Fresh oysters & steak

Vintage Grill. Excellent location. Walk1/2block from Affinia hotel. Fresh Long Island Blue point oysters. Husband reordered. That good. Shrimp parmigiana was good. Aged prime rib was Excellent. Full house. Dinners enjoyed no rush dining. We are planning our next meal here.

The food was wonderful. I loved the french onion soup! Our steak was cooked perfectly and was tender. Our waiter was great. He chose a wonderful bottle of wine for us, and was very attentive to our needs. I will be back.

Visited this restaurant during recent stay in the city and have to say it's the worst establishment that I've ever visited. You are packed in like sardines and never in my life have I ever had a waiter that was as rude and obnoxious as they come. Me and my dinner guest sat down and immediately left before the "nasty... You can't beat the location if you are headed to an event at MSG. The bar areas is small but lively in the front of the house. The restaurant is basic steakhouse, simple furnishings, big steaks and burgers with food and drinks flying out of the bar/kitchen to get everyone fed before the game. Service was just OK, as they... Not worth the money and there are lots of places way better than this dump. Food was lousy. Drinks are way overpriced and they add a 18 percent tip ... for lousy service ????

The food was bad. There was something wrong with each dish and overall the quality was just poor. The service was OK and the (manager?) did ask how the food was when clearing the table (none of us finished our food) and we did tell him what was wrong - he did apologise. Why didnt we just send it back?... More

I would like to say that the Statler Grill is a nice cozy place to dine. My husband and I make it a point to visit there every trip we make to New York. The staff is friendly and know what they are doing. The moment we walked in we are greeted by a smiling a face . (major importance)... More
