This place has some amazing food. The service might be a tad slow but the food is the star of the place. Some dishes that I have never seen makes its presence along with Indian Street food I will called Chat. Great spices and tastes but be careful of the level of spice.

My wife had seen the owner of Junoon appear on Masterchef Australia last year so as we were going to New York I thought it would be a good chance to try his restaurant. The atmosphere is very chic and we had some nice cocktails in the bar area before the dinner. Service was excellent especially the Sommelier who's knowledge... More

Great bar area and decor similar to Tao got our hopes up.The chef tried too hard to create upscale fusion food, although there were several delicious dishes. While I did not find some of the more traditional Indian fare, I enjoyed a delicious vegetarian dinner rich in flavor. Beware of the hot sauces and hot peppers-if you can't take the... More

This is a high-end, creative take on Indian food. So for the bad reviews complaining about it, no, this is not a traditional Indian joint. But just walking into the place will tell you that. The menu is inventive and highly creative. All the way from the amuse-bouche down to the dessert and even the espresso! Creative drinks infused with... More

If you have never tried Indian food then this place would not be bad for a first time experience. However if you have ever had Indian food before you will be utterly disappointed. This restaurant was great in design but eventually their food was a flop.

Amazing food, service and decor. I get why Indians don't need meat, everything was simply delicious!

During a family trip to New York, we chose this restaurant for its gluten free options for one of my family members and for delicious Indian food. Over the phone, while making the reservation, the lady told me that there was a dress code, no shorts or flip flops. I said "Ok" and she continued, "Yes, nice," in a rude... More

Staying in Flatiron District

Neighborhood Profile
Flatiron District
Offering many of the city’s best restaurants and shops set amid classic New York architecture, the Flatiron District is no longer under the tourist radar. At 23rd Street is the famous triangular Flatiron Building, which makes a good picture no matter what angle you photograph it from. Be sure to look up at the elegant architecture as you stroll the streets - much of this neighborhood is part of a historic district that was home to many of the city’s most famous department stores at the turn of the century. At the northern end of the neighborhood, Madison Square Park is best known for being home to a famous burger shack, but it can also be a quiet refuge to spend an afternoon, and it frequently hosts interesting public art exhibits. In the lower part of the Flatiron District you'll find Union Square, a bustling crossroads at all times of day and night.
