Cozy evening

We went there for dinner, I had just arrived from Europe. We had pate appetizer and the steak. Very good, good wine and friendly service.

We have not eaten in the restaurant yet, but recently ordered delivery--french onion soup and burgers. The food was excellent, delivered promptly, still hot and the soup did not leak at all. Best UES delivery burgers in a long while. Will definitely order from them again, and we look forward to eating at the restaurant.

We have never eaten here but we order takeout all the time. The problem is that the idiot africans that this place employs as delivery people have no idea of where I live, which is on the corner of 80th and east end avenue, and is a whopping two blocks from the restaurant. They invariably go to 80th and fifth... More

We've eaten in this bistro with the owner in a rather dark but interesting venue. We've also had dinner delivered at home. The food is certainly well prepared but the sauce for my companion's chicken tasted too much of bouillon and it was consequently a bit dry. Nonetheless the quality was very good and it was cooked well. Surprisingly they... More

We have been to this Resturant a few times over the last months - and the service and food is always great. You do not feel rushed, which is rare in NYC. The wine selection is ok and the atmosphere is rather relaxed. A neighborhood gem of a place.

Went here with another couple. We liked the atmosphere-darkish, European, and noisy. We started off with salads-fresh and tasty. I had coq-qu vin, probably the best I ever had. Great sauce, large portion, extremely tasty. My wife had scallops, my buddy had coq-au-vin, and his wife had grilled tuna. Everybody said "yummy" at the exact same time! The service was... More

Above average bistro fare and the best Coq Au Vin in The City. Yes it's got some issues: it's French, snotty, small and dark and exactly what you'd expect from any decent Parisian Bistro: good food. It's the whole package.

Note to self -- go early before they get busy. Once busy, the kitchen gets very SLOW. Food when if eventually comes is excellent but takes way too long. Been here two times -- once great but the restaurant was very empty and it was the dead of winter. Now in the throws of summer everyone is out dining. Early... More

The food is well prepared, fresh, and infrequently over-salted. Staff is friendly. Customers can be a little pretentious but not often. This is a good spot to go relax. Not haute, but approaching homey.

Staying in Upper East Side

Neighborhood Profile
Upper East Side
Combining quiet residential neighborhoods that have easy access to Central Park with world-famous cultural institutions, the Upper East Side is one of the most livable places in the city. Along beautiful Fifth Avenue, you’ll find Museum Mile, which houses many of the nation's most famous attractions in a single stretch, like The Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Guggenheim Museum. Walk a few blocks into the neighborhood, and you’ll come to Park Avenue, the poshest address in the city, lined with grand apartment buildings as far as the eye can see. Even if you can’t afford the luxury goods along Madison Avenue, it’s still a great spot to window shop an afternoon away.
