The food is well prepared, fresh, and infrequently over-salted. Staff is friendly. Customers can be a little pretentious but not often. This is a good spot to go relax. Not haute, but approaching homey.

This is a really lovely, romantic restaurant. We stumbled upon Le Bistro while trolling the hood for a cozy dinner for 2. We were more than satisfied with our choice. We had: Charcuterie - Delicious assortment of pate' and salami Fromage - A wonderful assortment of cheeses Coq au Vin - delicious Shell steak - Very good All in all... More

We loved to come to Le Bistro D'a Cote second time, to savor their authentic food and to verify our very positive firs-time impression, from a few months back. And we are happy to report that our very positive review we left the first time was by and large well deserved. The food is simply great. We could't help but... More

Wondeful French enclave. Food is very good, including special prix fixe and early bird specials. Warm, friendly, welcoming staff and bartenders. We've never had a bad time there, whether hanging out at the bar or dining at one of the tables with friends.

I went there to dinner, it's not the best French restaurant I have ever been, but food was nice, price reasonable and the staff was French and very nice. It was a good experience. the restaurant is small and intimate. I will go back.

If you are interested in an accommodating restaurant management, this is not the place for you. If you have found this place on line and it offered a glass of wine with mussels and frites, don't believe it. They said they have changed their menu and do not offer the wine with it anymore. When we told the manager that... More

This is a wonderful, comfy neighborhood French restaurant, where much of the staff speaks French. The food was all enjoyable but we loved the mussels and the pommes frites. We felt totally relaxed and well looked after. We definitely plan to return on our next trip to NYC.

Simply put: great French restaurant, great food, very good service, really authentic (as opposed to a multitude of faux French sounding NYC joints), affordable. Our French server was excellent. The wine list amazes with its budget-priced quality wines. The food is a classical solid French bistro fare of a high quality. Our charcuterie board was probably the best we ever... More

My wife and I had an early 6:30 reservation on a Sunday night. When we arrived the restaurant was not busy, but quickly filled up. We were warmly greeted by the wait staff. Menu is traditional French Bistro with fish, chicken, beef and duck options. We each ordered a different cut of steak medium rare, both with pomme frite. Meat... More

We were looking for a nice brunch place in UES that's not too noisy or hectic. This place was definitely it! A friendly place with very good food.

Staying in Upper East Side

Neighborhood Profile
Upper East Side
Combining quiet residential neighborhoods that have easy access to Central Park with world-famous cultural institutions, the Upper East Side is one of the most livable places in the city. Along beautiful Fifth Avenue, you’ll find Museum Mile, which houses many of the nation's most famous attractions in a single stretch, like The Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Guggenheim Museum. Walk a few blocks into the neighborhood, and you’ll come to Park Avenue, the poshest address in the city, lined with grand apartment buildings as far as the eye can see. Even if you can’t afford the luxury goods along Madison Avenue, it’s still a great spot to window shop an afternoon away.
