You should come here for one of the following reasons: - you love scotch whisky: the place has a HUGE selection of them! - you like bar food: the lobster sliders are delicious and so is the blue crab over toast - you want a real bar: yes, old school, vintage decor and the weirdest WC wallpaper ever. A must... More

We visited here for dinner during our stay in Manhattan and I had booked a table online before we arrived. The atmosphere was excellent, the decor and surroundings comfortable and authentic. The food itself was delicious and the staff efficient, polite and very helpful. We didn't feel rushed and took our time. My husband certainly enjoyed the Belhaven on offer,... More

Came here to meet a friend while I was in the city on business. Both of us are big whisky fans so he recommended this place. The food was decent but the whisky selection is incredible. The wait staff knows their stuff too when asked about different ones. I had a flight and they were all wonderful. The whisky bread... More

After missing our original booking to Highlands because our flight to NY was delayed, we went round at about 9.45pm to see if they could still take us. They were very welcoming and we got a table easily. As it was late, we just had a small starter and main course, both of which were freshly made and very tasty.... More

Visited this bar for drinks and nibbles whilst on holiday in NYC. Found the waiting staff polite and friendly and spent time chatting with them about the unusual wall paper. There was a good selection of drinks and the food was tasty. Have read several reviews stating that the waiters were chasing people for tips. I thought it was common... More

Incredible whisky selection, available for single orders or flights. The food was very good as well. I ordered the scotch egg, which was fantastic - seasoned and cooked perfectly. I also had the beef wellington, which was good, not great. I thought the quality of the beef could have been a smidge better. The place is pricey - for me... More

Love this place. Have made two trips to Highlands, having discovered this gem on a visit last summer. We were a party of three, including my teenage daughter. The service is attentive, and the wait staff makes a point to be accomodating and engaging for her as well as my husband and I. The whiskey list is extensive and craft... More

Really loved this restaurant. It was a cold, blustery night and we couldn't have picked a cozier location for a good dinner. The menu is lots of fun - with Scottish dishes as well as other choices for picky eaters. The service was very friendly too - helping to advise without being pushy. Last of all - for a nice... More

Went there for drinks with friends while visiting NYC. Drinks and nibbles were okay, but service was poor and slow! One of the waitress was polite and attentive, but unfortunately she was the only one and after have spent $180,00 we got chased down the street by the waiter because we forgot to leave a tip!!! He questioned if that... More

Staying in West Village

Neighborhood Profile
West Village
Stretching from Sixth Avenue to the Hudson River, the West Village is one of the city’s most coveted addresses. Full of trendy shops, historic taverns, and cozy restaurants set amid 19th century architecture, this neighborhood has a unique old-world feel. You won’t find a more picturesque location in Manhattan. Without the traditional city grid layout, it’s easy to get lost here, but that’s part of the fun as you stroll down elegant narrow streets with beautiful brownstones. When you need a break, you can always stop in at one of the many quaint eateries or cafes to soak in the atmosphere, or head to the western edge of the neighborhood to enjoy magnificent waterfront views while taking a leisurely walk in Hudson River Park.
