We just thought it was too fancy and, therefore, too expensive. Not the case at all! Not only that, but for what we paid, we got a fantastic meal! So, don't let the fancy look of this restaurant throw you off. I'm kicking myself for all of the times that we went to the Shake Shack instead, or to some... More

The menu is overly simple, the food overly delicious! The hummus and falafel are great, the stuffed grape leaves small but outstanding. The baklava is the best I have ever had.

Menu is not interesting or inventive, and the place looks gloomy, so does the cook staff, who looks like slobs. We will not return

We have just enjoyed a lovely meal here. From a good selection of dishes we chose the falafels and chicken kebab. The falafels were crispy on the outside, creamy on the inside. The chicken was beautifully cooked, tender and full of flavour. We had the desert tasting plate for which was good although the baklava lacked the proper texture. The... More

We booked a table at 8pm for three people, arrived on time to find we had to wait at least 25 minutes and then only offered a very large table which was hardly conducive for chatting. The service was slow, the waitress was positively curt and the food when it arrived was only average and not even very hot. We... More

After an afternoon stroll in Central Park we found this gem of a restaurant. Lovely atmosphere, excellent service. Delightful food. Excellent Falafel and Kibbeh.

I was delighted to find out about this restaurant, because there are not many Druze restaurants and they do offer foods that are not your run-of-the-mill 'middle-eastern food.' Great spices, good balance of flavors, delicious everything. I especially recommend the amazing Druze bread (like a paper think pita bread) which is baked on site, fresh and delicious. It complements the... More

My wife and I had a groupon and wanted to get a taste of home with the food. It wasn't that spendy since we had a groupon. The ambience is nice (1 star) and service was good and friendly (1 star). The food was really average. The rice was terrible. Meat was spiced okay, but kind of dry. I've had... More

With the turbulence in the world a nice friendly delicious reminder of the exotic foods available in NYC is Gazala's on the upper west side. At the corner of 78th and Columbus ave is an oasis of fine homemade authentic Druze cooking owned & run by a young woman and her excellent staff. The hummus and pita roll to start... More
