An Ofrenda, in Spanish, is an offering, a gift. At their cozy West Village space, owner Jorge Guzman and Chef Mario Hernandez offer their unique interpretation of classic Mexican cuisine with an innovative cocktail menu of tequila-based drinks. Named by NYLuxury as “one of the top ten restaurants in New York serving Latin food” and as “Top Tequila Bar in the US” by the editors of USA Today, this intimate and stylish cocina offers its guests a blend of passions. Jorge’s desire is to create a sexy and fun space to enjoy creative cocktails with the best of Latin cuisine. While Chef Mario’s dream is to craft dishes to showcase the indigenous ingredients of Mexico, the foods his ancestors enjoyed, and bring those flavors to a new generation. This team has joined forces to offer guests a unique dining experience. We look forward to having you.

Friendly, Casual Place, Good Food, Great Dessert and Attentive Waiters

Brought my daughter here for her birthday on Labor Day weekend. Made reservations but it was not crowded. Atmosphere is laid back. The dinners were good, traditional Mexican fare but the desserts were out of this world. I had a coconut cake with pomegranate. Such a great flavor I've never... read more

Yes, you can find a table. But you will wait a long long time for your food. And then... ... The the chili Reno is just far from expected, quesadilla more salty than tasty, fish taco ... Just ok. Guacamole is correct at the bar, industrial and tasting like a conditioned avocado in the plate. Next time. Nop.

We had a fabulous light lunch here today. The staff were really efficient and friendly, the Margerita was the best I have had in a long time. We had Guacamole and tortillas which were really fresh and home made tasting. Happened to be here at happy hour so it was really reasonably priced too. Will definitely try to go back.

Food and drinks were great! Guac appetizer was delicious, and the margaritas were awesome! Service and atmosphere was also wonderful! I am definitely coming back! Best time to go is 4-7 for happy hour! Great specials!

Great margartias and even better fish tacos! They come perfectly cooked and topped with a perfectly balanced baja sauce and cole slaw.

We sat outside and the chicken with spicy fries was to die for. But while we were eating a homeless guy popped in for a second and we saw a staff member give him some money and gently walk him back whilst chatting, an obvious, kind, regular arrangement which highlighted the generous staff we saw.

My wife and I and another couple ate dinner there this past weekend. The guacamole was excellent as was the queso fundido. I ate cerdo in mole amarillo that was delicious. It had a spare rib, some pork belly and some pulled pork in a great sauce. I am not a margarita drinker but I tried and enjoyed the jalapeno... More

Best guac and chips! Love the spicy marg. Cool decor. Love that it's not a typical traditional Mexican interior design.

We just happened on to Ofrenda one day and decided to give it a try. It's a small place and we were lucky to get a table for four during dinner hour. It also has a terrace. Once in the restaurant I found it was loud. Tables are very close so you can easily hear conversations of others. We in... More

Staying in West Village

Neighborhood Profile
West Village
Stretching from Sixth Avenue to the Hudson River, the West Village is one of the city’s most coveted addresses. Full of trendy shops, historic taverns, and cozy restaurants set amid 19th century architecture, this neighborhood has a unique old-world feel. You won’t find a more picturesque location in Manhattan. Without the traditional city grid layout, it’s easy to get lost here, but that’s part of the fun as you stroll down elegant narrow streets with beautiful brownstones. When you need a break, you can always stop in at one of the many quaint eateries or cafes to soak in the atmosphere, or head to the western edge of the neighborhood to enjoy magnificent waterfront views while taking a leisurely walk in Hudson River Park.
