The most horrendous experience I've ever had! Avoid at all costs

We went for lunch, the waiter was attentive, the service was reasonably fast, the food was very good, we had the porterhouse steak, enough food for two persons, we also had onion soup and soup of the day, all was tasty and well presented, the price was reasonable. The place is a traditional diner.

There were some healthy choices on the menu. Wasn't sure if the meat was antibiotic and hormone-free—studies are showing us now that sick animals make us sick or at least do not nourish us much. The counter waiter who served me was OK, but he was too busy preparing take-out orders to be at all solicitous. I'd go again, but... More

I've eaten dinner at Remedy Diner at least 4 times and each time the food has been good and the servers very friendly. The menu has quite a variety of food- I would think something for everyone.

We went here because the line for Katz's was ridiculous. And we were very pleased with the choice. The decor is fabulous Art Deco and the menu is diverse and delicious. At least our food was. Would recommend to anyone seeking brunch or lunch.

Wondering around the area ,trying to find a place to eat we came across this diner. A good old fashioned American Diner. The best breakfast we had during our 10 day stay. Great pancakes with butter , delicious french toast, and very tasty eggs with potatoes. Reasonably priced. Paid 40$ for two people and had alot to eat. We were... More

Like many other reviewers, we wanted to go to Clinton Bakery but there was a 45 min wait outside so we wandered around to kill time. We came across this diner that looked just as appealing - sorry Clinton bakery, we didn't come back - and the real thing. I love the old fashion/vintage look and the waiting staff was... More

We had the intention of eating at the Clinton Street bakery around the corner, but there were a large number of rather morose looking people hanging around outside - it was raining quite hard at the time - so we decided to give it a miss. Walking back to the subway we passed here and walked in more to get... More

We wanted to go to the Clinton street bakery for breakfast but it was packed, so we kind of stumbled accross this place. We loved it! The waffles were the real thing, and the pancakes were perfect. I'll be back!

Neighborhood Profile
East Village
There’s still an independent vibe to the East Village, which offers plenty of unique small businesses catering to longtime New Yorkers and area college students alike. The East Village retains a bit of the old-time neighborhood feel that you can still experience today thanks to a mix of locally-owned shops, cozy restaurants, and lively bars. The scale of the residential blocks makes this a wonderful place to wander up and down the streets searching for the newest hip spot, or an old-school favorite. In the center of the neighborhood, Tompkins Square Park serves as a gathering point for the New Yorkers that call the East Village home. The people-watching here is hard to beat.
