Good Mid Price Place

Exactly what you'd expect for the price point. Good food, reasonably priced, decor...dark & moody. I will go back, but I won't dress for dinner.

If I could give it 0 stars I would. We found this place on our walk home from a fantastic night out with food and a comedy show. we were heading back to the Park Lane on the back street (58th) and this place looked nice to pop in and have an after dinner drink. Looked really cozy and dark... More

Amidst all the touristy places and chains, this is a good find. Not overly packed at Saturday lunchtime but a good menu (I had a salmon steak sandwich and my wife had a Cuban sandwich). Staff were great. Music took me back to late 80s. Imagine the evenings are buzzy and the cocktail menu looked adventurous.

The atmosphere here is warm and cozy, a great place for a cool-weather meal. Both the ribeye and the salmon are well prepared and well presented. Our server balanced being crisp and professional with being warm and friendly. The prices are reasonable considering the location!

This is a better place for drinks, appetizers and late-night. Food quality and presentation for dinner is non existent. There is no value in having a dinner here. Meat was not tender, tomatoes not ripe, portions small, overpriced. Ambience is good (as a bar), service is friendly and personable. Decent beer and drink selection.

I few months ago I went as a single for lunch and was very pleasantly pleased. This time I went for dinner as part of a party of four...and not so much. The basic problem is that aside from the burger none of the food was that good. The buffalo wings were hard fried, smothered in sauce, and came on... More

Tucked away on west 58th street directly behind the JW Marriott Essex House, this little gem can easily be missed with its narrow and unassuming frontage giving nothing away. Inside, the restaurant stretches back in to the main building with ample seating and a comfortable ambiance if not a little low on the lighting. The bar area was quite busy... More

Went there every day while is was in NY. Right behind the Essex House across from Central Park. Just a fun place. Great Drinks - the staff is awesome, great fun and food. I will go here every time I visit the city. A BLAST.

We were looking for something to go to for lunch as an alternative to another place we were thinking of. We decided to check out Red 58 as it was around the corner. We got there when the doors opened an Laura who was our server and bartender was awesome. She made our experience fun and was a delight to... More

It was a nice find. the staff was friendly and helpful. The prices were normal for a big city. Their food was also good. The food played with your pallet with every bite. I asked them to make me a drink that I created and they were more than helpful in making it. The "Miami Special" at least I hope... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
