Good Mid Price Place

Exactly what you'd expect for the price point. Good food, reasonably priced, decor...dark & moody. I will go back, but I won't dress for dinner.

Atmosphere was great for a low key dinner. We are staying at hotel across street and was convent. Although drinks were tasty only got offered one and when food came no one checked on us in the bar and there were 2 bartenders on. We needed salt, pepper and hot sauce. Would have stayed longer but hyst wanted to pay... More

My friend and I came here for lunch on Tuesday. The food is decent but the table and silverware were very dirty. I was surprised by that... The food is pretty good and priced well. However I probably wouldn't come here for food in the future - maybe just drinks.

Red 58 is at 158 W58th St - Can you beat that for a memorable address? This is a very fine reasonably priced restaurant. It is casual but you can feel at home in more formal wear. There are excellent standard domestic menu items as well as fine Cuban classics and wonderful soups. It is nice to have enough time... More

If I could give it 0 stars I would. We found this place on our walk home from a fantastic night out with food and a comedy show. we were heading back to the Park Lane on the back street (58th) and this place looked nice to pop in and have an after dinner drink. Looked really cozy and dark... More

Amidst all the touristy places and chains, this is a good find. Not overly packed at Saturday lunchtime but a good menu (I had a salmon steak sandwich and my wife had a Cuban sandwich). Staff were great. Music took me back to late 80s. Imagine the evenings are buzzy and the cocktail menu looked adventurous.

The atmosphere here is warm and cozy, a great place for a cool-weather meal. Both the ribeye and the salmon are well prepared and well presented. Our server balanced being crisp and professional with being warm and friendly. The prices are reasonable considering the location!

This is a better place for drinks, appetizers and late-night. Food quality and presentation for dinner is non existent. There is no value in having a dinner here. Meat was not tender, tomatoes not ripe, portions small, overpriced. Ambience is good (as a bar), service is friendly and personable. Decent beer and drink selection.

I few months ago I went as a single for lunch and was very pleasantly pleased. This time I went for dinner as part of a party of four...and not so much. The basic problem is that aside from the burger none of the food was that good. The buffalo wings were hard fried, smothered in sauce, and came on... More

Tucked away on west 58th street directly behind the JW Marriott Essex House, this little gem can easily be missed with its narrow and unassuming frontage giving nothing away. Inside, the restaurant stretches back in to the main building with ample seating and a comfortable ambiance if not a little low on the lighting. The bar area was quite busy... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
