I've had over 20 years experience eating and writing about the food in Italy and so am always a bit surprised when I come across a restaurant in the States -even in New York - that measures up to the best in that country. Il Punto is a - to use an over-worked adjective - gem. Service was welcoming, warm,... More

My friends and I were looking for some place in the theater district and I found this on Open Table and sounded good and so we thought let's try it. The best decision ever. We loved the look of the spot, clean, crisp not overpowering. Our server was on the spot with water and menus at once, I had mentioned... More

We very much enjoyed our dinner here. The staff were excellent, attentive yet not smothering. Good selections on the menu and even a 3 course meal special, for the evening, if you would so desire. Complimentary Gazpacho starts off the evening, to open your pallet - as the Italian gentleman that was always walking around to make sure that everyone... More

We were looking for a nice dinner before the Eagles concert and il Punto exceeded all expectations. Small out of the way Italian restaurant that provides exceptional value. Exceptional food at very reasonable prices. The mushroom appetizer and lobster ravioli's were great. When our server realized we were on a tight schedule she moved our order up to meet our... More

Sitting on the corner of Ninth Avenue and 38th Street is a wonderful Italian restaurant. If outdoor dining is your thing, while 9th Avenue isn't the best place for al fresco dining, but dining is, you're not going to be disappointed. Everything on the menu deserves high praise. Because I'd eaten there several times in the past my appetite was... More

I was visiting from out of town and some colleagues brought me here for lunch. I had the best chicken panini ever!! Fresh mozzarella with breaded chicken, peppers and a yummy pesto spread. Highly recommended!!

The restaurant is everything you want a restaurant to be. The menu is special and enticing. The waiters and busboys are intelligent and pay attention. The water class was filled without asking. The chicken I gad was fabulous. The amuse Bouche was a delicious tomato soup and the onion gelato was comforting and delicious. Will keep coming back.

This is one of best Italian restaurants, not only in USA but worldwide. We came for pre- show dinner and had 4 entrees , 5 pastas and 3 desserts , all different and all excellent. I would say that lasagne(hidden under name "Timballo" ) are the best eaten in any restaurant , even in Italy. Service was fast and efficient,and... More

This was worth the walk from Port Authority in 92 degrees! The food and service was one of our best restaurant experiences in NYC. We ran late for our reservation and they held our table for us. Our waiter, Raphael, was professional and made us feel like we were royalty. He couldn't do enough for us. They gave us complimentary... More

It might be authentic Italian but it also has a non-traditional and innovative feel to it. The cuisine felt wonderfully personal and creative, even though a couple of dishes were less convincing than others (party of 7). What is totally convincing is the service. This is exceptional service. We were especially pleased to find a former staff of an old... More
