Quick visit for dinner before basketball

I visited This place for a quick pizza as I didn't have much time to spare. The service was fine and the pizza was incredibly tasty! If I was in NYC longer, I'd have gone back for another one. It's on the edge of Hell's Kitchen and was just down the road from where I was staying.

Went here on a tip from our hotel concierge. The owner pizza maker came over and took us through the menu. We tried the arugula salad on his suggestion and it was delicious. We went our own way on the pizza, but found it delicious. We loved the ambiance. There may be pizza joints which are cheaper by the slice,... More

Our hotel suggested we try Capizzi on our first evening in NY - a short wait but humming with friendly staff and happy guests! Top in house Sangria and fresh crispy wood fired pizza. Service was relatively quick considering the many guests in house. Definitely worth experiencing! Simple but fresh !

Fantastic thin crust, wood-fired pizza! Fresh toppings, especially the basil. Take the time to treat yourself to an authentic Italian pizzeria!

visited Capizzi on 8th April before going to Broadway show. Lovely small restaurant and both front of house and back of house were attentive and friendly. The restaurant was full but we were not hassled for the table. The food was excellent; not cheap but is well worth the expense . We booked by phone which I would recommend.

Small, family owned pizza shop. In terms of the food, the pizza was great. Thin crust with great, fresh toppings. No soda fountain here, just bottles of coke product kept in a 50s style fridge. Just a fun atmosphere overall. Better Italian experience than you can get in the touristy little Italy.

Amazing experience, at one of the coziest places near times square. Restaurant only seats about 30, so very intimate atmosphere. Fresh dried herbs and olive oils made in house (the spicy olive oil was fantastic, but very hot!) and some of the freshest mozzarella I've had in ages. Service was amazing, very friendly and attentive. You could tell they were... More

Title says it all. The place decor is fairly minimal but ok; but 20$ for a quite good, but smallish pizza with not generously served ingredients, and 9$ for a very mediocre glass of chianti, it's hard to get really happy about that :(. There must be some better choices in NYC!

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
