Description: The Cangiano's embrace family tradition in the food business that dates...
The Cangiano's embrace family tradition in the food business that dates back to 1919, when grandma Cangiano opened her first Salumeria, stocked with the freshest Italian products. Tre Otto was opened in 2009 by Louis and Lauren Cangiano, the 4th generation of Cangiano's providing New York with authentic Italian food prepared from family recipes. The restaurant offers a casual inspired lunch menu as well as an elegant dinner menu that reflects the best traditions of Sicilian food. In the twenty plus years that Louis and Lauren have lived in the Carnegie Hill area, they have always searched for a neighborhood Italian restaurant that felt warm and welcoming - an extension of their own home - where the food was superb and where the atmosphere was magical. They believe that you will find this at Tre Otto.

Pleasant atmosphere. Good service overall without much interaction from servers. Food was ok. Will visit again though just for the "Polipo alla Griglia."

After visiting a friend at Mt. Sinai hospital we wanted to find a nice place to eat not far away. It seemed the area was full of fast food joints and diners. Walking down Madison Avenue we came upon what looked like an interesting Italian restaurant, Tre Otto. Upon entering we found ourselves in a very homey looking old time... More

Nice Italian restaurant with a good variety of wines, beers, and options to eat that take you directly to Italy. Their home made pasta makes the experience even more wonderful, as well as the service they give. I was given a really great service, and would recommend this restaurant without doubts to anyone who wants to eat well and spend... More

The original burnt down and this is newly reopened. Average all around. We had great service staff and a very good bottle of wine for $45.00 ( great price) The food was mostly unacceptable. We had several things to eat and the fried calamari appetizer was the best. Linguine and clam sauce was passable but the gnocchi in ragu was... More

Needed to be local for elder family member birthday; neighborhood is nice and improving. Had a reservation but delayed in seating by a group of teenage girls at a birthday. Local Italian restaurant with a reasonable menu...something for everyone. Service was good but not exceptional, ambiance was pleasant but the crowd was loud, acoustics not great. Bar seemed friendly/inviting. Food... More

we had a reservation and arrived early, but not early enough to finish eating in 90 minutes to make an 8 PM curtain 5 blocks away. Wine and appetizers arrived in adequate time but then we waited more than 30 minutes for 4 servings of branzino ( not a special) and one pasta. We called the waiter over numerous times... More

I can only apologize for your poor experience. The short story is that there was an event at the museum that day and we were completely slammed with unexpected crowds all dining at the same time, all having to eat quickly to make show time. This is not a typical scenario here. We are a family owned restaurant and our... More

Nice place. Good waiters and neiborhood. The pizza is good but not great. Mario Batali is the owner, but this does not mean excellent food. Don't expect to much.

Thank you for your review. Every response is very important to us and taken very seriously. I just wanted you to know that this is a family owned restaurant and the chef/owner is not the famous Mario Batali. We do however use very fresh ingredients personally purchased by the owner every day. Hope to see you back again. Warmly, Lauren... More

I had a lunch with my wife. The restaurant and tables were made of woods, and the servers in charge of our table was Italian, and the bread was Italian bread which we had often had in Italy during our stay in Europe. We got a bit excited to the actual Italian atmosphere. WRT the meals we had, Carpaccio of... More

After not having been very impressed by the food a few month ago, when restaurant reopened , we gave it another try. Service very friendly and food was good. Great salad, burgers and pizza. Also a pleasant environment. Something the neighborhood needed.
