Great late night eat

Best seafood tower in New York! Staff was very accommodating and friendly. Lemon creme brûlée was to die for. We even found a free toaster on the street .

On our first visit to John Dory, our party was immediately sent to the bar, apparently for a time out to think about what we had done wrong--something I used to do with my kids. Let me explain. We had an early reservation as we were going to the theater after dinner. We arrived 15 minutes early thinking that maybe... More

Look, I'm not a food critic...but I will say this...it takes a little more than good oysters to really shine. It's the smaller things that warrant good reviews. And they missed the mark with the smaller things. Let me start with the bartender. Upon arrival, sitting at the bar, it would have been nice to receive a hello at the... More

Great location next to our hotel, but even if the taste of the ceviche was amazing, and so was the chorizo filled squid, the portions were ridiculously small, actually not deserving the "portion" label but rather the "amuse bouche" one. By the the price is not joke either!!!!!!

Where to start? Ambiance is loud. Parker rolls and lobster roll (“roll”) were good. Lobster filling was anemic and bland. Oyster shooter was good. Coconut soup was very salty. Drinks were good but pricey. Service was on the slow side. Portions were inconsistent across different entrees. Items seemed fresh but unexciting. Restaurant seems overrated and much overpriced. We loved this restaurant, the server was so helpful and made great suggestions, the food was great, lots of very fresh oysters with great seafood choices, I had chorizo stuffed calamari which was sensational. We sat at the window which was good as there were only 2 of us, the place was very busy and we were lucky to get... More

Spending a few days in NYC with friends. Most of us like Oysters and we were not disappointed, some had the lobster sandwich and liked that very much too. One of our friends can't eat shellfish and had great difficulty finding a good meal on their menu. Wines are on the expensive side. Staff could be friendlier. Noise level very... More

Too expensieve. Far too noisy; impossible to have a food conversation. Mediocre food. So so service. NOT recommended.
