Good Food Horrible Service

We went for Sunday brunch. The wait staff seemed more interested in talking with each other than serving customers. We had to wave down someone to take our order from two waiters who couldn't seem to end their conversation. We complained but things never got better. It was some of the worst service... read more

Lavo's meatball is in my top 10 appetizers of all time. Trust me, DO THIS! I had it in Vegas first and was ecstatic when I saw that Lavo was in NY. I WILL return!

Lavo was recommended by multiple residents of New York. My expectations were high. After dinner, I made the comment this is fast food for the wealthy, or those willing to accumulate debt, who want to be seen. My husband and I shared everything. One appetizer, one salad, one entrée with a side, and a dessert. Nothing was spectacular or unique... More

The restaurant is very efficient. This is a nice way of saying that they push you through your meal. The appetizers are all clearly prepared beforehand. The meatballs were room temperature. The pasta was overcooked and again below appropriate serving temperature. The server did not check on us once. The vibe is nice for a night out with a dj... More

The appetizers were excellent especially the crispy fried calamari, and the wagyu meatball with marinara, and the spaghetti carbonara. Service was spot on as well. Would frequent often if I lived here.

Great service, good food, nice place, annoying noise, too crowded. I had the fish and the oysters, both were very good. We were a party of 6 , everyone enjoyed his meal. Difficult to hear eachother over the crowd, but basically a standard business dinner in a noisy trendy place. Nothing to write home about, nothing to complain about either.

We had a great time, low service but the food was very good. The pasta was the best and they have a good list of wines. We love it

The food was okay, but really nothing special. Venue is big and loud so probably wouldn't go here for an intimate meal. Service very good.

This was one of the best holiday lunches I've experienced. When we first arrived just before noon it was practically empty and I was miffed because the reservationist had been so strict about the timing of the lunch. I soon realized why: the entire restaurant had not a single empty table or seat by 12:30! This place is fun -... More
