We came for 'The Meatball', we'll return for the rest!

Following a snow-bound viewing of Food Porn the other week, I have been obsessed with the idea of the 1lb, pork, beef and veal meatball at Lavo (smothered in sausage ragu and adorned with the smoothest whipped ricotta). This behemoth did not disappoint, was full of flavour, superbly seasoned and... read more

We had a good winter lunch with a good current deal of three courses at a reasonable price. I started with the clams (perhaps a bit heavy on the pomodoro), a tender steak and very good cheesecake. My partner had the lobster bisque and the penne alfredo, both of which she found too salty (and she likes salt). That said,... More

We had tickets for the nightclub so we decided to have dinner in the restaurant. The atmosphere is unique!!! Music, glam and the food is good. After that we went to dance and we had a great time!!!

If you shop at Maddison or Fifth - LAVO is one of the best places to go for lunch or dinner! I love to go there minimum once a week. Tina with artichokes , octopus , chicken paillard are just fabulous ! It's a good twist on Italian American cuisine ! Very tasty and light , but the most important... More

Went to Lavo to see an old friend. Unfortunately my friend could only stay for a few minutes which let me to eat by myself. I ordered the tuna tartar and the beef carpaccio. Both tasted well but had a slightly to strong lemon taste. The atmosphere is unusual for a Italian restaurant with club music constantly buzzing at a... More

Unable to critique the food as we didn't bother to wait around to order...but, having visited Lavo in Las Vegas several time we had high hopes. Made the reservation in person but when we arrived the delusional 'blond' greeter girl with inexplicable delusions of grandeur took about 10 minutes to find our reservation - she must have had a cast... Recommended by our concierge, we thoroughly enjoyed our lunch here. Fabulous steak, great pasta in lovely surroundings. The place was buzzing and rightly so.

Food was great. We ate hamburgers with truffled french fries. Desert was also amazing... try the deep fried Oreos` zeppole. Service is slow, but very friendly.

The food here was lovely and we all agreed that everything tasted great. The seafood pasta was amazing as was the chicken special. Front of house weren't very friendly and service was polite and didn't really stand out. Also we were sat under an air con unit right in a corner so no atmosphere really. However the food and wine... Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
