If Angels Could Cook

They would produce Two Little Red Hens' cheese cake! It's a quaint little shop on the Upper East and is busy for a reason! It's all so good!

Quality, quantity, and value is something you rarely stumble upon in New York City, but Two Little Red Hens checks all the boxes. I went there on a Saturday night with a few friends, and we all left amazed. We split a few different things, got large coffees, and got change back on a $20. The Brooklyn Blackout is a... More

Stopped here to pick up dessert treats for friends I was staying w in Brooklyn. WONDERFUL!! Adorable shop, tons of selections (cupcakes, mini cupcakes, cakes, mini cakes, cheesecake by the slice, pie by the slice, coffee cake ... I know I'm forgetting some treats ....), and reasonable pricing for what/where. I had a lemon cupcake - divine! Sweet and full... More

We weren't anywhere near the neighborhood but in our quest for the 'Best New York Cheesecake' we made our way up the the Upper East Side to see if what others were saying was true. This bakery is a small, unassuming place which only a few chairs inside so it's luck of the draw unless you have take away. They... More

I was introduced to this adorable little storefront by a friend who boasted about the Brooklyn Blackout. If you are a chocolate lover you must try it! Super big, super rich and a lot like an orgasm in your mouth. We also tried an assortment of mini cupcakes that were delicious. I can't wait to be back in the city... More

I was craving a dessert and was walking around the neighbourhood where I was staying, and am so glad I stumbled upon this bakery! The line was pretty long so I knew I must've come to a good place! The service was a bit slow but only because the people ahead of me were ordering dozens of cupcakes, when I... More

I found this on Trip Advisor before going to NYC for vacation and trust me, it's worth it to go find this little bakery! I had a triberry scone which was extremely delicious and wasn't dry like most scones tend to be. It tasted very homemade, fresh and was incredible! Me and my mom also split the peanut butter fudge... I live just around the corner, so I'm totally biased, and I really hate to share this BUT..these cupcakes are always the perfect pop in the mouth guilty secret I know! When you are lucky to find keylime mini grab it, although the chocolate is gorgeous, youngest daughter is a fan of red velvet, and my son loves Carrot, all... More

You could tell 80% of the people in line were regulars. I think that says something about this business. I loved the decor and the employees gave off a laid back, but cutesy "I am totally here to serve you and not seem weird" vibe. I don't know, but I liked it. We waited what felt like ffoorreevverr. We got... More

I've tried lots of different cupcakes in NYC and this is my favorite by far. The Brooklyn Blackout and Boston Cream are excellent. Cake is moist and frosting has the perfect amount of sweetness. The best hands down.

Staying in Upper East Side

Neighborhood Profile
Upper East Side
Combining quiet residential neighborhoods that have easy access to Central Park with world-famous cultural institutions, the Upper East Side is one of the most livable places in the city. Along beautiful Fifth Avenue, you’ll find Museum Mile, which houses many of the nation's most famous attractions in a single stretch, like The Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Guggenheim Museum. Walk a few blocks into the neighborhood, and you’ll come to Park Avenue, the poshest address in the city, lined with grand apartment buildings as far as the eye can see. Even if you can’t afford the luxury goods along Madison Avenue, it’s still a great spot to window shop an afternoon away.
