I stumbled upon this gem while browsing restaurant.com listings and decided to check it out one Saturday afternoon for lunch with my friend, Yolanda. There is a warm, cozy ambience, but we were a bit apprehensive as this was connected to a hotel(The Vincci Avalon). We were both very pleasantly surprised with the quality of food and very reasonable $24.95... More

I've dined at Serra Bistro with my wife and we really liked the environment and the food served there. The service was not top notch but it was enough to be considered good. I guess I can say would go back there and recommend it for those looking for a place for a good meal in a pleasant atmosphere.

On Tuesday nights, at 8:00PM, Serra turns into a little jazz club with a hot clarinet played by Rick Bogart, and a bass and a guitar to form a smooth trio. That is why I went. But! we stayed for dinner, a late dinner, and the food is delicious. We have been there a few times and only on a... More

I'll start off by saying that the atmosphere was great, and the concierge was extremely personable and made us feel right at home. As for our personal server, she spoke so low she was hard to understand, she asked us for our order as soon as we sat down, and then when we asked for more time, didn't return for... More

I went here last week with a friend for dinner. We each had a glass of wine, one appetizer each and a main course (which really only consists of a meat with garnish.. no sides) and split a dessert. Dinner was about $120. I don't mind spending if it 's worth it but this place was average and in my... More

I've dined with friends at Serra on several different occasions. Each time I've returned because of the food - on one occasion, I had the gnocchi, on another the lamb - and I really enjoyed the meals. The atmosphere is very conducive to visiting with family and friends, or for a quiet date. The service was excellent - oh -... More

The day after hurricane Irene we were walking around several New York districts looking for a decent restaurant for lunch. After two hours of trudging past closed restaurants and searching in vain we stumbled across Serra. What a find! We were welcomed in by a very laid back guy who was happy for us to sit anywhere. There was only... More

It's a very nice restaurant. We have been welcomed with a smile which is not the case everywhere, this is the first step. The menu is quite limited, but it's enough. We took pasta and risotto, and it was delicious. Portion are enough sized to have a dessert. And it's a good thing because both the "creme brulee" and the... More

This is a good restaurant in kind of a weird neighborhood. Its attached to a hotel which one can guess makes up for most of its clientele. Surprisingly the food was VERY good and we really enjoyed our meal. One complaint was that the restaurant was practically empty and yet they still sat us (2 people) right next to another... More

I have been visiting New York from Europe almost four times a year from Italy and I am always trying to explore best Italian food in New York which are thousands to choose from, but very costly. As I am doing at my visits, I took them to dinner to Serra Bistro. (I was recommended from my hotel concierge when... More
