Veranda was a serendipitous discovery for my husband and me when we sought refuge there from the Manhattan drizzle on a recent evening. Its brick walls give it a cozy feel, and the table spacing and noise level are conducive to relaxed conversation. Although the menu ingredients are typical of many Mediterranean restaurants--feta, lamb, various kinds of mezze, calamari--the preparation... More

My friends took me to Veranda to celebrate my birthday, and celebrate we did. There were only a few other guests there when we arrived at 7:30, but within 30 minutes, the dining room was almost full. Everything we ate was fantastic - hummus trio (traditional, olive and roast red pepper) with grilled and fried pita, octopus/grilled and puttanesca, garlic... More

My husband and I have eaten at Veranda many times and the food is always excellent. I am from the area and have lived in Manhattan for the last six years. My husband and I go out to eat at least several times a week and love finding great new restaurants. This place is definitely one of our favorites. This... More

I almost can't believe the bad food reviews. I'm not a club person so my review is specifically related to the dining experience my wife and I had. The service was great. The meals were very creatively prepared and unmistakably delicious. The drinks with real fruit puree were unique and also delicious. The absolute BEST lamb chops I've ever sunk... More

Attended on a Sunday night with a friend, who recommended the restaurant. Was immediately wary when my friend mentioned that it was a restaurant by day and nightclub by night that offered hookah as well. What I imagined it would be was exactly what it was. Upon entering, I could tell the layout was more meant for a lounge/nightclub then... More

This address has been a number of different things over the year. In recent years, it seems to open and then close soon after like it has had a false start. It has been Veranda for awhile - more than 6 mos? - so I wandered in to check it out as I live nearby. The menu is mediterranean with... More

I am from the tri state area, so definitely go to plenty of NY nightspots. Only reason we went to this one was because a friend knew a promoter who told us he'd put us on a list for free bottle service. There were 17 of us in the group and everyone but me (female) and my two girlfriends arrived... More

I'm in NYC a lot - a few days almost every week - on business, and I am always on the look out for another restaurant with good food where I am comfortable eating solo. I just happened to be walking up 7th Avenue in the West Village the other night and cam across Veranda, a restaurant I had never... More

Fun night spot, average mediterranean food. Stretch out on their spacious outdoor seating, a side of the lamb chop merguez is a must, and wash it down with a heavenly hampton, which is indeed heavenly...still hungry after dinner? try the baklava cheesecake, best of both worlds rolled into one.
