Great bar and restaurant

Expert bartenders, really creative appetizers and drinks, and fabulous food. There really is no downside (just on the pricey side, though)

We had reservations for 9pm and walked from the One World Center after watching the sunset fade to twilight high above Manhattan. The dining room was loud and boisterous and we were seated along a booth near a service station. The bright lights coming through the open kitchen door were a bit of harsh distraction as I was facing towards... More

Nothing to complain about this restaurant. Amidst the people that work and live in the area, this is a restaurant that's quite pricy, but worth it. We found the service to be excellent and the three amuses were unexpected and tasty. The chef proudly came explaining his dishes, which was a nice gesture.

We're not the type of people who nitpick, but we were disappointed in what we thought was a fine dining restaurant. Once our wine was served, no one ever came to refill a glass. Our appetizers sat in front of us for 15 minutes after we were done. My octupus was so salty, and hard, it was inedible, but our... More

After a slight hiccup over the booking (the previous table had not vacated quickly enough) we sat down to a terrific set menu for 8 people. This was to celebrate a big Birthday and so had to be memorable and it was for all of the right reasons. First up some bouche amuse with a small sechuan 'button' to be... More

We wondered in to this classic cafe styled building shortly after 8pm - no reservation - offered seating near bar with an instant start or a 30 minute wait for a table in the main dining area. We took the spot near the bar - perhaps noisier than the main dining area or outside but immediate and with attentive staff.... More

Visited Marc Forgione for dinner with some business colleagues and overall the evening was a success. The menu was varied, the staff attentive and the atmosphere was laid back for a Sunday evening. Will definitely be going back.

In a town full of incredible restaurants, nothing jumped out at me as exceptional. Menu was somewhat limited and not that interesting. Food was good and a good atmosphere. Did have a great drink menu.

It was a delight to discover Marc Forgione! From the moment we entered the restaurant, we were transported, amazed! The atmosphere was stunning. The place was so nicely decorated with appropriate and intimate lighting. The food was exquisite, so tasty, made right there once you had ordered. I had the sole as main dish and a pistachio cheesecake for dessert.... More

Staying in TriBeCa

Neighborhood Profile
TriBeCa
What’s in a name? In this case it is the unique title of “Triangle Below Canal Street” that became a popular nickname in the 1970s. An attractive neighborhood filled with handsome lofts on the edge of the Financial District, this lovely slice of Manhattan offers plenty of fine dining experiences and art galleries. Plus, it’s home to the city’s most exciting film event, the Tribeca Film Festival, that takes place here every year. TriBeCa is a great place to take a leisurely stroll before stopping into one of the many local restaurants or bars for a satisfying meal and cocktail. You’ll see families out for an afternoon walk, and don’t be surprised to come up with the occasional celebrity sighting. With such a great vibe, many of the city’s most famous residents call this neighborhood home.
