Great return visit

This was our second visit to the restaurant on our annual trip to NYC. The food was again excellent, we had the Texas chilli lobster to share followed by the divine chicken under a brick. This was so tasty and moist. We then had the soufflé and s'mores for dessert. Service was great and... read more

This restaurant was the high point of a recent trip to NYC when we eat there on a snowy and cold saturday night. Great atmosphere and space, inviting and relaxed, not at all up tight. The Foie Gras starter was generous and well balanced with its accompanying jams; the Kampachi Tartare with avocado and nuts was delicious, light and refreshing.... More

I live far away from this restaurant, and when I infrequently visit NYC I like to try many different restaurants. Restaurant Marc Forgione is the exception to this rule, and will continue to be the restaurant of choice for each and every visit to NYC. Location in in a cool neighborhood in Tribeca. Easily reached by the uptown 1 train.... More

We dined here twice in December 2014, the second time on Christmas Eve. Both experiences were excellent, and the food continued to wow us. Starters we savoured included scallops with black garlic sausage, yuzu and salsify, escargot with bacon and pomme puree, Parmesan soup with dumplings & matsutake mushroom tea and, of course, the great chilli lobster Texas toast. For... More

My favorite restaurant in NY. I frequent many places, but Marc Forgione's restaurant is the best for many reasons. Marc is a multiple Iron Chef winner and a Michelin Chef. His food more than reflects his talent and he is constantly upping his game. The restaurant is welcoming and tastefully appointed. Marc is approachable and glad to mingle with his... More

Marc Forgione has easily become one of my favorite restaurants in New York City. This was my 6th visit and I swear it keeps getting better! If you preference is for a table, you better make your reservation in advance. Personally I prefer to eat at the bar. There are 2 large communal high top tables that are also available... More

We booked the day before via "open table" and considering the limited choices to get a table online surprised to find the place only 2/3 full. Menu is relatively limited but all our dishes were really delicious with some unusual but really well functioning combinations of ingredients. Dumplings and scallops to start, pork loin for mains and brulee and cheesecakes... More

Quaint restaurant in Tribeca. Went to brunch and enjoyed good food and good service. The bunch menu is limited and has some interesting plays on traditional brunch items.

I took my wife and we had a wonderful time. The cocktails, wine, food, decor, ambiance, and service all were exquisite (albeit expensive). It is in a very cool part of Manhattan - when you are finished head 2 blocks over to Ward III for after dinner drinks. We ordered the chicken under a brick with truffles and it was... More

Of all the places I've eaten in my life, Marc Forgione is definitely top 5 best meal. I've eaten everything on the menu, and it was all fantastic. The tartare appetizer is an experience in itself - I highly recommend it. The chicken for two dish is my favorite by far.

Neighborhood Profile
TriBeCa
What’s in a name? In this case it is the unique title of “Triangle Below Canal Street” that became a popular nickname in the 1970s. An attractive neighborhood filled with handsome lofts on the edge of the Financial District, this lovely slice of Manhattan offers plenty of fine dining experiences and art galleries. Plus, it’s home to the city’s most exciting film event, the Tribeca Film Festival, that takes place here every year. TriBeCa is a great place to take a leisurely stroll before stopping into one of the many local restaurants or bars for a satisfying meal and cocktail. You’ll see families out for an afternoon walk, and don’t be surprised to come up with the occasional celebrity sighting. With such a great vibe, many of the city’s most famous residents call this neighborhood home.
