I enjoy dining in NYC. A friend was visiting NYC and suggested Craft. I thought, "Why not!? It's a Tom Colicchio restaurant. I'm a fan of Top Chef. I enjoyed going to Colicchio & Sons (another Colicchio establishment in NYC)." I was disappointed. The food was average. We started with Orecchiette with Lamb Ragu, Octopus, & Fois Gras. Of the... Craft remains one of my favorite restaurants anywhere. Its atmosphere is understated but beautiful and I still can't figure out how it can be lively but still allow for conversations at a normal level. The service is stellar without being intrusive. This is not a "fussy" menu, where items have lots of ingredients meant to astound, although our seared foie... More

Restaurants come and go. They have their ups and downs. But I've got to say that we have never been let down by Craft in the East Village. The food is absolutely delicious and clearly made up of the freshest and finest ingredients, from their sweetbreads (delectable!) to their oysters to their oyster mushrooms and their US-reared Kobe steak --... I would not return. The food was good, but not great. Given the pricing and reputation, I expect to be wowed by at least one, if not all, of the offerings. The service is family style where you share everything with your table. We had six people and we all ordered different appetizers and main with one overlap in appetizer.... More

This is a great restaurant to go for the feel of a lavish night out. Unfortunately, some of the the food did not keep up with the expectations. We started with drinks - a Kettle One Cosmo ($17.50) and a bottle of Brunet Vouvray ($75) to accompany dinner. The Beet Salad ($17) was excellent, a potpouri of roasted, salted, w/... More

From the moment you walk in the door you know this will be a special time. The Food - OMG - Sublime... the kind that will stay in your memory it is in my top 5... the sharing of dishes added to the feeling of connection. From the Beet Salad to the Steak with Morel's and Braised Peas, sounds simple... More

A nice and cosy restaurant, but the food was well overpriced for what it is - I guess it's good quality stuff but the chef has been using way too much spice on the delicate ingredients

Although the menu may initially disappoint you with its very basic descriptions, combined with the information from the waiter that the service is designed to be family-style, I was blown away by the quality of every dish I ate at Craft. Wagyu carpaccio was indescribable with crispy shallot garnish. Grilled octopus was perfectly cooked with charred skin and tender juicy... More

A wonderful meal. Absolutely delicious short rib beef. We were celebrating my daughters birthday and they provided some very nice touches with a personalised menu and inscribed dessert plate. Service was impeccable and the wine selection very extensive. Definitely my best meal on this new York trip.
