Decent food for chilled night out

Went here with three of my work friends after a long day. They had a great selection of beers, but unfortunately only seemed to get bottles or cans. The food was pretty good, I had the young chicken which was really nice and a big portion. The starters were excellent, nice sausages. Service... read more

We dined here for the first time last night. EVERYTHING about the experience was great. We were seated quickly. Our server explained the menu to us - things are served family style (though entrees are portioned for one), the menu is based on seasonal ingredients and changes frequently, etc. He and all of the other servers who came by our... Living in France, we came to NYC to commemorate my wife's 70th birthday. On that day, we went with 2 family members to Craft. Ambience was very good, personnel tres gentil, wines good, personal attention - my wife's menu was with a mention of her name on top. But: 2 persons ordered monkfish and we got the information that there... More

Haven't been here in years. Atmosphere modern without being off putting; nice lighting a little noisey, but not so you can't talk. Very good service. But the food is the star: braised short ribs were fabtastic -- three of us had them. Other diner had the Amish chicken, and loved it. First courses were oysters for three and white asparagus... We held our daughter's wedding cocktail reception here in the private dining room. We had an open bar and several passed hors d'eurves. Everything was done extremely well! The wait staff was exceptional and the food delicious. It is not an area for a large group; we had about 40 and it was perfect.

This was a fun restaurant to eat at on a Friday night. The ambience is good and the food and service excellent. It is located in the flatiron district which is a great place to walk around before or after your meal.

"Where to eat in NYC?" is always a difficult question. Our decision to dine at Craft was informed by a previous expience at Colicchio and Sons and the fact we had a young person in our party who we hoped would be excited to dine at a "Top Chef" restaurant. We could not have had a better experience. The gnocchi,... More

Went to the bar on Tuesday night, their cocktail list is interesting and we were considering getting a few app to share. Tried the 2 different cocktail made with Mezcal (Bye Felicia and Fantastic Mrs. Fox) which were quite well crafted. Halfway through the second one, I spotted a dead bar fly in the drink. Mentioned it to the bar... More

We just went for drinks and appetizers, but everything was perfect. The pork belly was great, but the highlight was the cocktail I had. It was a seasonal bourbon drink... So good!

The food was good, not great, with the BIG exception of a very undercooked lobster dish special that had been sold HARD by the server. The service itself (i.e. the person!) was borderline cynical. Tables are further apart than many NYC upscale restaurants, otherwise there's little to distinguish Craft than two score other upscale offerings, except the prices that were,... More

Staying in Flatiron District

Neighborhood Profile
Flatiron District
Offering many of the city’s best restaurants and shops set amid classic New York architecture, the Flatiron District is no longer under the tourist radar. At 23rd Street is the famous triangular Flatiron Building, which makes a good picture no matter what angle you photograph it from. Be sure to look up at the elegant architecture as you stroll the streets - much of this neighborhood is part of a historic district that was home to many of the city’s most famous department stores at the turn of the century. At the northern end of the neighborhood, Madison Square Park is best known for being home to a famous burger shack, but it can also be a quiet refuge to spend an afternoon, and it frequently hosts interesting public art exhibits. In the lower part of the Flatiron District you'll find Union Square, a bustling crossroads at all times of day and night.
