Great cocktails

Serious bar for craft cocktails with fresh customized ingredients. Nice atmosphere with friendly bar tenders. Interesting crowd. Even though we didn't eat, the food looked good. Gets crowded around the bar later in the evening.

The bartenders were amazing and the girls loved their drinks. My buddy and I both had great craft beer choices and they also had a decent variety of wiskeys. We had the fried mac and cheese and their beef jerky and both I would recommend. Great place for drinks and apps !

Came here to hang out with friends, and the servers were friendly without being overbearing and the mixed drinks were fabulous. While I stuck with the 17th Street Sazerac, I did sample everyone else's drinks and think they were just as tasty (in particular, I liked Her Red Lipstick and When the Morning Comes). Great bar.

We stumbled upon this place on 17th. The ambiance is great. There is a swinging bar area in the front and a quieter dining area in the back. The drink menu is awesome - great selection of cocktails, wines and beer. The food was good, but not great (nothing too fancy). I tried the kale caesar salad (not the best... More

Stopped here for a beer one evening. Had a salad also - kale and loads of healthy green things in it. Beer selection was varied and interesting. Would come back.

Great place for drinks or eats. Nice selection of beers. RyeBar can be a little on the loud side - a testament to all having a good time. Service and drinks great.

After getting shut out of the 11:00 AM Mass at our home Parish (St. Francis Xavier, the prettiest RC church in NYC - take that, Loyola!), Christina and little Dex and I were left scrambling to fill the time...so... BRUNCH! The problem is a couple of million other people had the same idea. All the good Chelsea and Village spots... More

I stopped by a few hours before my flight back home. Bob Dylan, John Lennon, and David Bowie songs played overhead. The dark paneling and small quarters made for a cozy visit. I enjoyed sitting and writing and watching the passers by. Try the Wake Up Call, a delicious tequila cocktail.

Rye House is a nice cozy place to hang out and the staff are very nice and friendly. Its a great place for a quick bite to eat because the menu is limited and the prices are reasonable. I would recommend this place and definitely try the duck quisadias is delicious!!!

Staying in Flatiron District

Neighborhood Profile
Flatiron District
Offering many of the city’s best restaurants and shops set amid classic New York architecture, the Flatiron District is no longer under the tourist radar. At 23rd Street is the famous triangular Flatiron Building, which makes a good picture no matter what angle you photograph it from. Be sure to look up at the elegant architecture as you stroll the streets - much of this neighborhood is part of a historic district that was home to many of the city’s most famous department stores at the turn of the century. At the northern end of the neighborhood, Madison Square Park is best known for being home to a famous burger shack, but it can also be a quiet refuge to spend an afternoon, and it frequently hosts interesting public art exhibits. In the lower part of the Flatiron District you'll find Union Square, a bustling crossroads at all times of day and night.
