Gingers Restaurant is the Doubletree Guest Suites Times Squares’ new restaurant located on the 5th Floor, that pays tribute to “The Roaring Twenties” when Broadway was in full swing with light-hearted musicals. These shows produced enduring standards from legends such as Cole Porter and George and Ira Gershwin, and launched the careers of actors, singers and dancers such as Ginger Rogers, who, at the age of 19, was chosen to star on Broadway in Girl Crazy. Open for breakfast, lunch and pre and post-theater dinner, Gingers is exotically decorated with Asian accents and offers an extensive menu with signature dishes and a la carte specialties.

We stayed at the Doubletree and had breakfast at Gingers. Because I am a Hilton Diamond member, the breakfast was free, which is good, because otherwise it would have cost us $65 for two people to have a breakfast buffet. We had custom omelets which were prepared very well and enjoyed the variety of the buffet.

We were staying at the hotel and wanted a quick meal. Ordered the skirt steak and was surprised at how nicely done the meal was for a hotel restaurant. The server was very friendly and offered great advice on where to go and what to do - the insider must sees and dos.

We showed up late for dinner after a long day and still had good service and food. I'm sure they were ready to go home but, they did not rush us. I had the Chicken Pillard salad which was excellent. Husband had the Three On the Go. I think that's what it was called. It was small Caesar salad, soup... More

It's always a pleasure to return to Ginger's at the Doubletree on Times Square, especially when your waiter is Fitzroy. Although I hadn't visited New York for two years, I was amazed that Hannah at the restaurant's reception immediately recognised me and acknowledged my preference for Fitzroy as my waiter. On 30th August 2014, I enjoyed a lunch of REAL... More

Omlets, Waffles and Pancakes made on the spot. Big enough offering so that we could skip lunch and have a nice dinner at the end of sight seeing.

Definitely not worth $29.95. Saturday, there was made to order eggs and pancakes (walk up) but other days, there was just the buffet. Dry eggs, dried up American cheese, nothing great at all --not even good. I would not recommend breakfast here unless you get it for free.

This is an average breakfast for such an expensive price. The omelet maker was the only highlight. We opted to eat at the McDonald's next door most mornings.

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
