I had high hopes for this place. It wasnt half of what I hoped. The meatballs I got (beef) were decent not yummy though the bread was burned on bottem. Came with some funky tasting salad. Service was bad. They serve room tempature water. The ice cream and cookie s were good. I wouldn't eat here again

I generally do not like the texture of ground meat or meatballs, but I agreed to give this place a shot at the prompting of a friend. I was happily surprised. I like the dry-erase menus - a fun concept that certainly lessens the work of the wait staff. The polenta was cooked to perfection - I could have eaten... More

This place has several locations in NYC, but the one on Stanton (LES) definitely has the right vibe. Ordered the sliders - build your own: choose the meat then the sauce - ($3/ea): Veggie w/Pesto Sauce, Spicy Pork w/ Tomato Sauce and Classic Beef w/Spicy Meat Sauce. The veggie was OUTSTANDING!!! The combination of lentils, parsley, nuts topped with pesto... More

I have had in many years. Small, crowded and very noisy place with limited menu of meatball, sauce and bread/pasta/salad options but first rate food and good service. Not for quiet conversation but fun.

I saw this on a map near my hotel and thought I would check it out. What a fabulous place. Not a lot of seating but I beat the lunch crowd and grabbed a spot at the bar. The menu uses erasable markers and you check off what you want to order. You can choose the type of meat for... More

The Meatball Shop was recommended to me by a colleague and on a recent trip to New York I went there for lunch while I was in the lower east side. It was everything she said it would be and more. Spicy pork meatballs on a baguette covered in tomato sauce and mozzarella cheese. The portion was so large I... More

In the heart of the lower east side scene this little landmark has all the usual features of the majority of the small restaurants/bars/pubs of the area. Small, overcrowded, all wooden, kitchen in full sight, good beers and a lot of young people to enjoy. The main difference is...meatballs! Yes the simple and delicious food is served both in small... Don't come starving to this place unless you plan on ordering multiple meals! The food was absolutely delicious. My favorite was the special meatball (steak, cheddar, and bacon) and the Risotto of the day (with Asparagus and Zucchini blossom). We came pretty hungry and were a bit disappointed with the portion size. I ordered 3 sliders and had plenty of... More

Good food in a small & noisy place. My son & I had a lot of fun. We sat at the communal table & both enjoyed the sliders trying various types of meatballs. Our favorites buffalo chicken, spicy pork with pesto, chicken with parmesan sauce. My son bought me their cookbook for Christmas and the recipes are great. It’s a... More

We ordered a few different types of meatballs with different sauces so that we could all taste a few different options. They were all delicious but my favorite, by far, was the chicken meatballs with pesto sauce. YUM. The meatballs are so moist and flavorful, and the pesto is the best I've ever had. We were there for lunch and... More
