Lovely food, great, friendly and helpful team

We came here for our last night and it was empty due to the Super Bowl, which was fine by us and a few others in the place. You order by marking your menu with a pen on the wipeable menu. We were greeted by a friendly team and seated and they allowed us to keep our bulky suitcases in... read more

When Michael and Dan opened this place there were no other Meatball specialty choices. They invented the genre. Mike was always at the front of the house, hired some really good people and they put out a great product. He was always nice and welcoming and made sure the staff put that same vibe out. Wasn't easy getting a table... More

Hi Marc, Thank you so much for taking the time to leave a review of your experience at The Meatball Shop and I'm terribly sorry to hear that the experience was not a good one. It's extremely upsetting to hear that you feel the quality of the food has suffered, and I assure you, we're working hard with our operations... More

I went to the Meatball Shop at Stanton St for the first time seven years ago and I thought it was a nice place with good food. Came back in 2016 and I was glad to see (and taste) that it still was a nice place with good food! Definitely worth a visit, especially for lunch,

Just because they only serve meatballs does not mean they deserve a 4 star review. this place was amazing, form the Sauce to the Meat this was one of the best meals in NYC I've ever eaten. i recommend everything in a sub. i really does not matter what meatball you choose.

Sat at the bar with three other friends at this busy restaurant and had a terrific dinner before going to see some music at the Delancey. Very friendly, helpful and fun staff behind the bar. You pick your meatballs (beef, pork, turkey, vegan) and your sauce. We had traditional and pesto over beef. Meatballs are 4 to a serving, golf... More

Ok so they only serve meatballs in different sizes and kinds so you have to like that. The kitchen is open until forever so it works well when you get the munchies.

This restaurant is very interesting. I was agreeably surprised by their attention to allergies and their way of collecting orders. However, the music is too loud (even if good). Very appropriate for 2 persons

Despite being just meatballs there was plenty of choice. It would suit all appetites and budgets. The chicken pot pie sliders with mushroom gravy were fantastic, we would go back again (and again).

Staying in Lower East Side

Neighborhood Profile
Lower East Side
Straddling the bridge between New York’s thriving immigrant past and its modern transformation into a beacon of global art and culture, the Lower East Side is one of the most dynamic neighborhoods in the city. The blocks of tenements that represented the promise and blight of the Lower East Side immigrant experience now command top dollar for new residents. Right next to old-world delis, 24-hour bodegas, and the garment shops of Orchard Street, you’ll find hip clubs, fashionable bistros, and luxury hotels beckoning at all hours of the evening. If you love nightlife and live music, it’s hard to beat the scene here.
